#1 When I was a kid in the '50s I always thought the F80s were the coolest looking planes around.

I know the tech stuff didn't cut it but boy they looked good to me.

#3 ..In fairness:

*As has been pointed out, the F-80s didn't last long - they quickly got shifted over to ground attack work, and were eventually supplemented there by the F-84 Thunderjet.
*The very few North Korean pilots capable of flying MiGs did indeed get whacked fairly quickly, but they were replaced by Russian and Chinese pilots who were a heck of a lot better - until we brought in the F-86 Sabre.
