#8 I was in a high-end department store looking for a shirt. I found one that I thought looked good, looked at the price tag and then to see where it was made. It was made in China and the price tag was $120 for actually a basic, plain cotton shirt. So, wait a minute. Are you telling me that we can't make shirts in this country that stores could sell at a profit for less than $120?

#11 The long game economic strategy of China and the immediate gratification, naïve mindset of the west over the past 20+ years has led to the de-industrialization of the US and massive deficits in the trading balance. We have literally elevated a near 3rd world country to near first world status, let them pillage our intellectual property, bribe our policy makers and pretend that are near=peer "friends".. we are deeply in debt and theyt are ascendant, but cannot sustain their economy if we stop buying their crap...we need to do exactly what Trump is doing, and SUSTAIN it for years while we take the pain and invest in our manufacturing base. The question is, will we be able to persevere in the face of the massive PR, lobbying and cataclysmic threats that will come if we do that? 1950's America would have that resolve, but look around folks.....?

Doesn't help when crooked fools like Biden take Chinese bribes and pretend that Trump is crazy. The Chinese can almost be forgiven for deciding to hang tough with Trump in the hope that Biden will beat him in 2020. They'd much rather deal with a soft headed fool like Biden than a hard headed realist like Trump.
