#1 Periodic influence 'flexing' or classic Pavlovian trickery ? They're just trying to get 'woke' businesses to shut down their ACs, so the workers therein can be more susceptible to the suggestions of Climate Change fanatics. Nothing reinforces repeated verbal suggestion like ~~discomfort~~sensory stimuli.

#2 Based on the times I've visited NYC, there are many places (hotels, museums) that are overheated in the winter and over cooled in the summer.

If true, this may have something to do with the type of HVAC that was installed (in many cases retrofitted) into the buildings.

#6 In Texas, the men don't wear suits, but the A/C is too cold for the ladies. So they have little space heaters under their desks. Now that's a double waste of energy.

#8 You're not gonna get much work done if the simple act of turning on your computer makes you break out in a sweat. And nobody's forcing young ladies to wear sleeveless tops with mini-skirts. If the AC is too chilly for you, put on a sweater.

Of course, the big advantage of living in coastal California is that we don't need AC.

Got you beat I spent a summer in Macon,Ga with no AC. It was the summer in 1969 when man first set foot on the moon but they hadn't heard if air conditioning. Except in the movie theaters which helps explain their popularity.
