#1 This is a fascist tactic. You let goons attack citizen protesters. Then show up late and proclaim that you fear reprisals on the section the goons were from, and that from now, "anybody doing anything we don't like will be arrested !"

It has it's uses in the right hands, of course. Every mob is a weapon. And weapons are only as evil as the wielders. I don't think there are hands right enough for such a weapon, though.

We do it ourselves all the time in India. However for other reasons. Let the vermilion and opium fanatics run wild with tridents and swords, burning and rioting through muslim communities. Then send in the constabulary next day to "set things right." The only people you'll round up the next day will be the ones shouting against the atrocity with indignation, the victims themselves.

Antifa is just another mercenary mob controlled by the DNC, and receives the same kind of support from Dem ancillaries in the federal govt. It is probably what the cops did in Oregon. Arrest the right-wingers and 'fail to identify' masked persons.
