#2 the 342 Baltimore homicides in 2017 represented a "homicide rate of 56 per 100,000 people." The homicide rate in Chicago was less than half of that, at "24 per 100,000."

But it's not a $hithole.

#3 My contacts say they are at 300 now in Baltimore. They happen to live there. I am more inclined to believe locals.

#9 Not sure about the rate in Chi-town, but the totals are impressive:

Year to Date
Shot & Killed: 269
Shot & Wounded: 1297
Total Shot: 1566
Total Homicides: 296

Note there are 27 more killed than killed with a firearm, or about 10%.
