#5 I've been out of the Navy for over 30 years, does anyone know if they give points (towards advancement) for the Achievement Medal now? It's only an attendance medal anyway.

#8 This seems odd. Officers typically receive Commendation Medals, enlisted get Achievement Medals. Only E5 and below get points towards advancement.
