#6 They have had signs saying cliffs unstable on the San Diego beaches since the 60s. I believe the cliffs are sandstone and sandstone is soft.

#7 Point Loma and other formations, which are ALL sedimentary ocean deposits of sandstone, some cemented with paralic deposits, subject to "calving" as with a glacier. Surface clefts/faces are adversely affected by landscape watering above
