#3 The interagency process is a bit more formal. Let's just say the discussions and communiques on Mr. Page would not have ended simply as... "yes, he is a source."

#4 I'm not sure Cruz is right in that it was great investigating. Someone at the CIA wrote a memo saying he is a source. Someone at the CIA was probably aware that the the memo was changed to say the exact opposite. Someone at the CIA probably contacted the investigators.

I do hope the document changer goes to prison for a long time.

I doubt he or she will see any punitive action or prison time. The actions are likely to be viewed as more of a technical omission or modification employed to protect 'sources and methods.'

It is also very likely that the owning agency 'directed' the FBI to respond to the FISA court in this manner.

Just my guess.

#7 Mr. Page was the 'mole' employed to permit surveillance and incidental collection of a political campaign. A witting mole, or an unwitting mole, you decide. IMA still going with eagerly witting and complicit... hoping someone will conduct an examination of his personal banking records.

I doubt the originators of this little project ever imagined that a FISA court authorization 'deep dive' would ever take place. Even further beyond their collective imagination would be an examination of the interagency process. But guess what, here we are.

It just keeps getting interestinger and interestinger.

#9 Clinesmith’s name surfaced previously. In 2018, GOP Congressman Mark Meadows publicly accused Clinesmith of possibly being the FBI lawyer described in the inspector general’s report as writing anti-Trump messages, including one that declared “viva le resistance.” The Times is now reporting that Clinesmith is that lawyer, known as FBI lawyer 2 in the IG’s earlier report into the Clinton email investigation.
