#3 Yes, there are traditions, but I have no problem axing the national anthem(s) before PROFESSIONAL sporting events. Besides, pro sports (baseball, hockey, basketball in particular) in North America are full of players from all over the world. This isn't the Washington Senators vs. the Detroit Tigers with a 100% American composition anymore.

But no nat'l anthems also mean no other PC nonsense. Just blow the whistle at the scheduled time and start the game.

#4 The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that 108 international players from 38 countries and territories are on opening-night rosters for the 2019-20 season, marking the sixth consecutive season that opening-night rosters feature at least 100 international players.

The record for international players (113) and record for countries and territories represented (42) were set at the start of the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, respectively.

This year’s 108 international players are more than four times the 24 international players on opening-night rosters for the 1994-95 season 25 years ago. Opening-night rosters also feature a record 16 Canadian players – the most players from a non-U.S. country ever on opening-night rosters.

The most-represented countries among the 108 international players on opening-night rosters are Canada (16 players), Australia (nine players), France (eight players), Croatia (seven players) and Serbia (six players). Canada saw a record six players selected in the NBA Draft 2019 presented by State Farm®, surpassing the previous record for most draftees from a non-U.S. country (five) set by France in 2016.

The Dallas Mavericks have an NBA-high seven international players. The Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers each have six, while the Memphis Grizzlies, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards each have five.

I wonder if the Major Team Owners are surprised that TV viewing is drastically DOWN and so are Revenues.

I am sure the Socialist Democrats are checking off another major Agenda item and GOD, Guns, freedom of travel, and basic privacy from the state are Next.

Face it 14% to 23% of the radical Hate USA population is NOT going to support 100's of Multi-MILLION Salaries very long... once contracts come up for renewal.

Note: Have not watch a sport game or sports channel since they started this take Knee / Hate the Anthem BS.

No SB either.

#10 Mr. Cuban is being deliberately rude as well as astoundingly ignorant. There is a long standing international tradition of playing the host nation’s national anthem at the start of professional sports games. God Save The Queen in Britain, Oh Canada in Canada, etc. This is not some sort of uniquely jingoist American thing that must be scotched before the rubes become a dangerous threat to the international players on the teams, who I’m sure were treated to a regular playing of their own national anthems back home, and are astounded that it has become an issue here. I’m quite certain that they all expected that part of the experience of playing for an American team would be to hear their host nation’s anthem played instead of their own, and that they would of course respectfully stand while it was being played, though probably not with their hands over their hearts — the national gestures of love and allegiance that not being expected of foreign nationals.

The world continues to watch in dismay — or howling with laughter —as our Social Justice Warriors tear the nation apart without any enemy having to lift a finger to subdue us. France’s Macron just the other day expressed dismay at the danger our SJW class is to the nation.

#11 *looks at the previous year's sportball ratings*

Looks to me like The National Anthem cancelled them first.

Like the girl taking the couple's photo off her makeup desk three months after getting dumped.

This is the go to club and go home with guy who buys her sloppy drunk drinks; last Sunday was the karaoke chapter of that evening.

#12 France’s Macron just the other day expressed dismay at the danger our SJW class is to the nation.

We're becoming the world's laughingstock.

After the QAnon Shaman incident, the Chinese laughed at Pelosi and rubbed her face in her comments that Hong Kong's uprising was "a beautiful sight."

The Russians are now recycling their Soviet-era jokes about Brezhnev and applying them to Biden, our own doddering senile muppet of a president.

The Germans and other Europeans are horrified at the degree of censorship exercised by our overgrown-adolescent oligarchs.

And after our clownshow election, who in the rest of the world will ever look to America for guidance regarding how to ensure free and fair democratic elections?

Who would want to emulate our universities today?
Who still considers our culture attractive?

The only thing we have left is the primacy of the dollar and the magnet of our market economy. But Brezhnev-Biden's doing his best to destroy those as well.

#13  The NBA says every team – including the Dallas Mavericks – must play the national anthem in their arenas, after news emerged that team owner Mark Cuban had ordered the Mavericks to discontinue the long-held practice.

"With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy," said NBA Chief Communications Officer Mike Bass in a statement on Wednesday.

After the NBA issued its stance, a Mavericks representative told NPR, "The anthem will play before tonight's game."
