Since violent criminals by their very definition DO NOT follow, nor obey such ill thought thru KNEE JERK Laws. Thus do take advantage against honest citizens placed at a disadvantage by having to obtain a permit to defend themselves

I would adjust the Law as follows tho. Because not all Convicted Felons are violent. About 1/3 are white collar non-violent crimes.

So maybe just those felons that have used a firearm in the commission of a crime, or were convicted of Physically Violent Acts with any type weapon, or Mentally Ill, or have been addicted to or sold addictive Illegal drugs.

What harm does a NON-Violent/Stable person pose owning a firearm? Other than not being able to defend themselves and their families against Home invaders, CarJackers and muggers?

#3 Have had that for a couple of years here in Idaho. Got my concealed carry permit long before that. Agree with the law but would like to see some basic training to go with it. Here in the western US where ranches abound, folks grow up with guns and are pretty responsible. Would think the same applies to Utah generally although they DID elect Willard to the Senate. Buyers remorse set in yet?
