#2 ...I suppose we should thank our lucky stars that the Democratic leadership (and it almost certainly was them; from what I've seen of Ms. Hart it's unlikely she would have backed down on her own) realized that they would have been handing the GOP a ready-made issue for 2022, and that their hypocrisy would have been painfully obvious.
