#3 The ISI neglected to send their loaner officers to run the operation, no doubt. Or the Taliban are so sure of their ability after having reconquered the country that they refused to accept them.

It’s good to know the Tajiks were not erased when we stopped seeing reports of the resistance.

#4 Checking the National Resistance Front’s Twitter page, herewith the only previous report of action Either they weren’t announcing actions before or it took them some months to prepare before going on the counterattack:

#5 Scuttlebutt was the Chinese have made overtures to Masoud's loyalists. They first wanted them to make peace with Kabul, then they offered covert help in resisting. Materiel, armament, ammo. Why, we cannot say. Maybe they wish to contain the conflict from spilling eastward. Maybe they're hedging bets. Many in Masoud's group lean toward commie I'm told. China is no fool. If it sees promise in Masoud, there must be a reason. I think it's just because sasquatches are bad for long term business relationships. The Taliban cannot outgrow their sasquatchery like Saudis or Turks can. Masoud's resistance is still made of moderate moslems. I don't know, maybe wrong.

#6 Tajikistan has had diplomatic relations with Israel since the 1990s, including trade and a variety of joint projects. This suggests a broad-mindedness not seen in Pashtun culture.

As for China, they reached out the the Taliban, too. We just had an article about the Talibs preserving some Buddha statues in order to turn China up sweet as they get copper(?) mines going.
