#1 The fact he has any left to lose at this point shows the cultish nature of the Democrats.

#2 This is why Biden and tfe Swamp are so hung ho about escalating and intervening in the Russo-Ukraine spat. Reports today are that they've announced their intention to take the war to the Black Sea and try to sink Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

These madmen and their freaks need to be removed from power before they destroy us and launch WWIII

#5 a declining economy will eventually put the lid on oil prices but this will be late June or July before that happens and probably there is at least another $0.40 cent/gal rise in our immediate future.

not a lot of layoffs yet but good possibility that total employment goes down in July

#6 ...except in the happy and glad government 'official' reports. It's called cooking the numbers.

#7 Two weekends ago here, they were not letting any more cars on the beach until some came off. I'll keep an eye out to see what the weekends are like between now and the 4th of July.

But that mostly hits the Middle Class and "Normal Folks" in the pocket book. Government employees and 'rent seekers' will still have their paychecks (even though the COLAs will be few and far between).

#9 ^1 yes, "cultish nature of the Democrats" I have seen this many times. "Best president we have ever had and the best economy". Millions to Ukraine, we have it. Military equipment we will always have it. Big oil, big tech, the Washington cabal.

Not even close. Summer is peak driving season so gas prices will go much higher. There's no refining capacity left.

For the recession to make a serious dent in gas prices and inflation there would have to be a major shift in world output.

That can only come now from the Saudis and the Russians -- but they're supporting each other and keeping prices sky high. Sullivan tried to bully the Saudi leader but the Prince gave his insults right back... apparently he screamed at Little Jake and sent him packing.

So no relief before next year at the earliest.

#11 no refining capacity left

Yes. From Bloomberg:
More than 1 million barrels a day of the country’s oil refining capacity — or about 5% overall — has shut since the beginning of the pandemic. Elsewhere in the world, capacity has shrunk by 2.13 million additional barrels a day, energy consultancy Turner, Mason & Co. estimates. And with no plans to bring new US plants online, even though refiners are reaping record profits, the supply squeeze is only going to get worse.

It was a very revealing incident, I thought — we had the report here at the time.

In today's NIMBY era of lawfare why would any investor fund a project that will take ten years or more of lawsuits before generating revenue? I have read of some expansion at existing refineries but that is dwarfed by the refineries that have been shuttered over the last decades...

#15 A percentage of Dems are truly commies. They consider Biden to be slightly behind schedule in accomplishing their goals. His approval will plateau at those folks plus the stupid folks. Unfortunately, that plateau will be dishearteningly higher than we would want.
