Still I couldn't help but notice that Gabrielle Giffords 'was shot', while Steve Scalise was severely injured when a gunman opened fire. Isn't that like being shot or something?

The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Paul, was assaulted with a hammer early Friday inside his San Francisco home by an attacker identified by police as David Depape, who a law enforcement source tells Fox News was shouting "Where is Nancy, where is Nancy?"

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said Depape, 42, is now facing charges of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary and several several other additional felonies stemming from the incident after 2 a.m.

Scott said police responded to a wellbeing check and found Depape and Paul Pelosi, 82, struggling over a hammer. He said officers then witnessed Depape pull the hammer away from Pelosi and "violently assaulted" him.

Officers then immediately tackled Depape, disarmed him and took him into custody, while requesting emergency backup and rendering medical aid at the scene. The motive for the attack remains under investigation.

Police have now confirmed the suspectā€™s name. David Depape is a Berkeley resident. Heavy will add a suspect photo to this story when one is obtained. What is Depapeā€™s politics and was he on social media? On a blog and website, he was fixated on censorship and made anti-Semitic comments. Online records give Depapeā€™s age as 42.

Joe Eskenazi, of Mission Local, tweeted, ā€œMy sources also name the suspect in this morningā€™s hammer attack on Paul Pelosi as David DePape, born 1980, of Berkeley. He would appear to be a former Castro nudist protester. Things appear set to be bizarre for a while.ā€

A 2013 article in the San Francisco Chronicle mentions Depape, although his name is spelled wrong. It describes him as a ā€œhemp jewelry maker.ā€ That article reported that Depape was the best man at the naked wedding of Gypsy Taub.



And the guy had some pretty grim anti-Semitic material up online.

I say again, this is a Smollettian exercise by the Dems for the election. There was a staged attack, no one got hurt and the cops and doctors are all in on it. Chances are this DePape patsy is a druggie and so whacko he doesn't even know what he's agreed to.

But, if members of Congress are really in mortal danger by fringe actors... well ...[whistles]

I'll put a chip on the table:

Paul has had a day, maybe his Pfizer check cleared, has a couple drinks. About 11 he's like, "Know what would set this day and this buzz off...couple lines." Calls up one of his sources, DePape takes the call, shows up. Being etiquette and having a day, Paul lines them both up. Couple hours, couple more drinks and lines into it, Paul does something uncomfortable, maybe makes a move or suggestion, and sets off DePape. Cops get notified, panic button or something, make the 'wellness check' and break it all up.
