Iran fires ballistic missile at American base in Kuwait in ‘egregious cease-fire violation' after US takes out Tehran drones in Strait of Hormuz

[NYPost] Iran launched a ballistic missile at a US military base in Kuwait late Wednesday in retaliation for the American military knocking out Iranian drones in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian missile was successfully intercepted by Kuwaiti forces, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM), which added that the US operation to take out Iranian drones had also been victorious.

“This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said in a social media statement Thursday.

“All drones were successfully intercepted by US forces which also prevented a sixth drone launch from an Iranian ground control site in Bandar Abbas,” added the Tampa, Fla.-based combat command.

“US Central Command and regional partners remain vigilant and measured as we continue to defend our forces and interests from unjustified Iranian aggression.” #
