Hitmen Killed in Shootouts with Kabul Police
[KhaamaPress] The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Sunday that two Lions of Islam who tried to plan and organize targeted liquidations in the Farza district of Kabul province using a cycle of violence, were killed by the police.
According to the statement, the two men attacked coppers in Qala-e-Mohammad Jan area of Farza district of Kabul province on Saturday.
Both are reported to have been killed as a result of the police retaliation.
Meanwhle, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a pistol, and a cycle of violence were seized from them.
Insecurity in Kabul has escalated in recent months, coinciding with peace talks in Doha.
Explosion Rocks Afghan Capital, Killing 9
[KhaamaPress] At least nine people killed and further a number wounded after an explosion rocked Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday morning, local police confirmed.
According to sources, nine people have been killed and further six others were wounded in the explosion in Police District 5 (PD5) of the city.
The explosion occurred in Spin Kalay square in PD5 of the city.
Ferdaws Faramarz, deputy spokesman of the Interior Ministry, said three vehicles caught fire at the location of the blast, but the cause remains unclear.
The explosion targeted the vehicle of Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of parliament from Kabul, according to report. Wardak survived the attack.
No group or individual has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier, the Afghan National Army (ANA) has discovered and sized at let 43 rockets during an operation in capital city Kabul, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement Sunday.
According to the statement, officials discovered these D30 model of rockets from Khak Jabar district of Kabul on Saturday.
“#ANA discovered and seized 45 D30 rockets ammunition in Khak Jabar district of Kabul province yesterday,” said the MoD in a tweet.
Officials did not provide further details but said “Taliban had planned to use the rockets in terrorist activities in Kabul.”
Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
The explosion targeted the vehicle of Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of parliament from Kabul. Wardak survived the attack.
The Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI) in a statement confirmed that at least 8 people were killed and 15 were wounded in the explosion in PD5 of Kabul.
Massoud Andarabi, the minister of interior, confirmed that 9 people were killed and 20 more were wounded in the explosion in Kabul today.
