Thomson Ga. Democrats and Power Elites lose, Mayor wins

Back in August 2024.

The NEW Mayor of Thomson, Ga. called for a Financial Audit.

That’s Benjamin Cary Cranford, 52, whose story is in the Rantburg archives.

While in a meeting regarding 2 police officers, well documented issues. The GBI came in and arrested him, halting the meeting and the audits.

It seems certain persons of the former forever in office mayor and the county legal system wanted him gone, to halt the probes and audits.

So they arranged for the new Mayor's political arrest using fabricated evidence. Evidence, that it seems the County DA office did not question to any normal degree.

Ga Gov. Kemp suspended the Mayor and the temp mayor seemed a better fit for the local power brokers.

A few months later, the case finally made it to court. The jury heard the case and the Mayor was quickly found innocent of all charges.

Jurors interviewed exiting the courthouse were abundantly clear.
Everything in the DA's case stunk to political high heaven.
Basic evidence was never collected, and only verbal stated.
Several guessed, because it was assumed to be a slam dunk due to those pushing the case.

The Question many jurors had with the case was:
Why was the GBI following the Mayor around to begin with?

The Thomson police chief called them in, according to comments in our archives.

Yep! The New Mayor is cleaning house, Trump style and demanding accountability, audits and indictments.
The long time, good old boy click is over, the well known Powerful & the Elite Families are losing control.

I have put a feeler out to an well known anti-click political advocate in McDuffie co., to see if the person wishes to chime in with serious detailed facts.
