[Washington Examiner] Roger Stone posted an Instagram story Sunday afternoon calling for former CIA Director John Brennan to be hung for treason.
"This psycho must be charged, tried, convicted" the provocateur and Republican operative wrote, below which he placed a photo of Brennan and then added, "and hung for treason,"
The post was removed by Instagram soon after it was posted, with the company saying it "violated our Community Guidelines."
Stone, 66, was arrested at his Florida home on Jan. 25 and charged by special counsel Robert Mueller with lying to Congress, obstructing justice, and witness tampering. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $250,000 bond. Stone’s trial is set for Nov. 5.
He has come under fire for his social media posts. On another Instagram story, he posted a photo of U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson’s face next to an image of crosshairs. Jackson is the judge in Stone's case. He deleted the post and released a statement denying it "was meant to somehow threaten the Judge or disrespect [the] court."

Well, it's hanged. Every guy would like to be hung but none want to be hanged.

A wag pointed out to me years ago some idiomatic expressions just don't translate directly: In France, anyone would be happy to "vivez dans le grande maison." In the US, nobody wants to "live in the big house."

Worked with foreign nationals to overthrow the elected government. Technically he may be correct.

If not closely monitored, intelligence methodologies employed against foreign adversaries can become handy tools for domestic political exploitation or monetary gain, or both. A case for this type of treasonous abuse appears quite likely.

Au contraire, mon frere. From the Creole:
They want to be good, but they won't,
Because they aspire when they're grown
To rise to high station
Upon the plantation: The big house! Then, later... they don't.
Democrats are foolishly demanding a modern day Pickett’s charge into the teeth of an entrenched adversary who occupies the high ground. Unlike Lee, they must know that their loud, nonstop cannonade has missed the mark.
A group of overconfident Democrats, cheered on by their deranged base (and some tortured English from Mr. Mueller) are demanding the their colleagues advance the cause of impeachment. Their fawning followers in the Washington press are egging them on with their daily sniping of the duly elected President. Perhaps they believe that they can break the will of this President and his party to fight on.
They willfully ignore the facts. They seriously underestimate this President. They now confront a steely Attorney General in William Barr who has truth, the law and the Mueller Report on his side. Democrats are foolishly demanding a modern day Pickett’s charge into the teeth of an entrenched adversary who occupies the high ground. Unlike Lee, they must know that their loud, nonstop cannonade has missed the mark.

Looking from Seminary Ridge, you don't see the difficulty of the terrain to your east. It looks pretty easy.
It isn't.

If you want to see difficult terrain on an historic battlefield, go to Vienna, walk the battlefield (start at the heights, but it still takes days) and try to imagine the situation. When I first saw the Vienna imperial garrison from above, I was stricken by the design of the meat grinder it represented.
