Portland business owner saved by officer as armed car thieves beat him with bat
[Fox News] David Rinella told 'FOX & Friends' he may not be here today if a police officer wasn't passing by.
"Please don't call 911"
The disturbing incident caught on video shows Rinella Produce owner David Rinella being repeatedly hit with a baseball bat while trying to thwart the break-in. He suffered five broken ribs, a punctured lung and broken shoulder blade before a police officer passing the scene intervened.

"Please call the police and don't try to do anything," Rinella told "FOX & Friends" Wednesday after being released from the hospital. "At 63 years old, I'm not what I used to be… I just couldn't get up every time I got up, I got put back down. This lady seemed like she had superhuman strength."

"Then I got a gun pulled me, a nine millimeter, and the guy wanted my keys," he continued. "That's when an officer just came by, by accident… I was so happy to see him. He stopped everything."

String of plea deals from Minneapolis DA outrages families of victims, draws concern from legal experts
[FoxNews] A string of controversial plea deals from a Minneapolis district attorney has been met with outrage by the families of murder victims and sparked concern from legal experts who say the move could exacerbate crime.

"The types of plea deals offered by Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty are inconsistent with the demands of justice," Tim Rosenberg, a Bradley fellow at Stanford's Constitution Law Center, told Fox News Digital.

Some of Moriarty’s decisions seem too lenient for even Democratic Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, whom billionaire George Soros backs.

In 2022, Zaria McKeever was killed by two teen brothers hired by her ex-boyfriend. Prosecutors initially pushed to try both teenagers as adults but were offered probationary deals by Moriarty.

The case was reassigned to Ellison, who said Moriarty’s move was "disproportionate to the seriousness of the crime."

"While I share the belief that too many juveniles are involved in the adult criminal justice system, accountability for the seriousness of this crime has been missing in this case," Ellison wrote.

She justifies her program as based on science. Since the brain isn't fully developed until age 25 (which is a misconception since impulse control is almost completely finished by age 18), offender given big break.

San Francisco prioritizing Black, 'Latinx' people in guaranteed transgender income program
[FOX] A program in San Francisco to hand out money to low-income transgender-identifying people favored Black and "Latinx" recipients and even sets race targets for recipients, new documents show.

Judicial Watch obtained more than 1,700 pages of documents from the City of San Francisco related to the Guaranteed Income for Transgender People (GIFT) program, which was announced by Mayor London Breed last year.

The pilot program provides low-income transgender residents with payments of up to $1,200 each month for up to 18 months with the goal of providing "economically marginalized transgender people with unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income as a way to combat poverty." It uses pre-paid debit cards due to participants potentially not having bank accounts. The amount someone can receive is capped at $4,000.

Donald Trump Followers Targeted by FBI as 2024 Election Nears - It’s Not Kansas Anymore Dorothy!
[Newsweek] The federal government believes that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump's army of MAGA followers.

The challenge for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the primary federal agency charged with law enforcement, is to pursue and prevent what it calls domestic terrorism without direct reference to political parties or affiliations—even though the vast majority of its current "anti-government" investigations are of Trump supporters, according to classified data obtained by Newsweek.

"The FBI is in an almost impossible position," says a current FBI official, who requested anonymity to discuss highly sensitive internal matters. The official said that the FBI is intent on stopping domestic terrorism and any repeat of the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. But the Bureau must also preserve the Constitutional right of all Americans to campaign, speak freely and protest the government. By focusing on former president Trump and his MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, the official said, the Bureau runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.

"Especially at a time when the White House is facing Congressional Republican opposition claiming that the Biden administration has 'weaponized' the Bureau against the right wing, it has to tread very carefully," says the official.

Newsweek spoke to over a dozen current or former government officials who specialize in terrorism in a three-month investigation to understand the current domestic-security landscape and to evaluate what President Joe Biden's administration is doing about what it calls domestic terrorism. Most requested anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly, were reluctant to stray into partisan politics or feared the repercussions of speaking frankly.

Newsweek has also reviewed secret FBI and Department of Homeland Security data that track incidents, threats, investigations and cases to try to build a better picture. While experts agree that the current partisan environment is charged and uniquely dangerous (with the threat not only of violence but, in the most extreme scenarios, possibly civil war), many also question whether "terrorism" is the most effective way to describe the problem, or that the methods of counterterrorism developed over the past decade in response to Al-Qaeda and other Islamist groups constitute the most fruitful way to craft domestic solutions.

"The current political environment is not something that the FBI is necessarily responsible for, nor should it be," says Brian Michael Jenkins, one of the world's leading terrorism experts and senior adviser to the president of the RAND Corporation.

In a statement to Newsweek, the FBI said: "The threat posed by domestic violent extremists is persistent, evolving, and deadly. The FBI's goal is to detect and stop terrorist attacks, and our focus is on potential criminal violations, violence and threats of violence. Anti-government or anti-authority violent extremism is one category of domestic terrorism, as well as one of the FBI's top threat priorities." The FBI further said, "We are committed to protecting the safety and constitutional rights of all Americans and will never open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity, including a person's political beliefs or affiliations."

The White House declined to comment. The Trump campaign was given an opportunity to comment but did not do so.

From the president down, the Biden administration has presented Trump and MAGA as an existential threat to American democracy and talked up the risk of domestic terrorism and violence associated with the 2024 election campaign.
And so forth.

Quoting RT plays into Putin's hands – Hillary Clinton
[RT] Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin is "thrilled" by the growing political divide in Washington over aid to Ukraine. She also alleged that the Russian leader "scores points" whenever Americans reference views shared by outlets such as RT.
"as shown in a dossier I received"
In an interview with PBS’s Geoff Bennett released on Tuesday, the former secretary of state and principal architect of the Russiagate conspiracy theory was asked how she thinks Russia perceives the growing opposition among US lawmakers to funding for Kiev.

Clinton suggested that Putin was not only pleased with the rift among American politicians, but was also "fomenting" it in order to "undermine democracy" and "suborn political leaders."

"When I see people parroting Russian talking points that first showed up on Russia Today [RT] or first showed up in a speech from a Russian official, that’s a big point scored for Putin," Clinton said.

She went on to suggest that despite the "ideological" and "partisan" political divide, the US Congress must work through its issues and ultimately pass legislation that would ensure continued aid for Ukraine.

Biden agency 'likely' violated free speech by working with Big Tech to censor election content: court
[FoxNews] CISA 'likely significantly encouraged the [social media] platforms’ content-moderation decisions'.

A federal court ordered an injunction on a top agency within the Department of Homeland Security after finding that it likely violated the First Amendment by coordinating with social media companies to effectively censor "election-related speech."

On Tuesday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals extended the scope of an injunction in place that limits the Biden administration's communication with big tech companies to include the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the Department of Homeland Security.

According to GOP Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who is leading the litigation against the Biden administration, CISA is the "nerve center" of the White House's "vast censorship enterprise" and "the very entity that worked with the FBI to silence the Hunter Biden laptop story."

"CISA was created to protect Americans from foreign attack, and now it has begun targeting its own citizens," Bailey told Fox News Digital.

A three-judge panel determined in the court order that CISA was the "primary facilitator" of the FBI’s interactions with the social-media platforms and worked in close coordination with the FBI to push the platforms to change their moderation policies to cover "hack-and-leak" content.

The opinion describes CISA’s "switchboarding" operations as "merely relaying flagged social-media posts from state and local election officials to the platforms." But the judge said that "in reality, the practice is ended up being "[s]omething more,'" the order reads.

"CISA used its frequent interactions with social-media platforms to push them to adopt more restrictive policies on censoring election-related speech. And CISA officials affirmatively told the platforms whether the content they had ‘switchboarded’ was true or false," it continues.

"Thus, when the platforms acted to censor CISA-switchboarded content, they did not do so independently. Rather, the platforms’ censorship decisions were made under policies that CISA has pressured them into adopting and based on CISA’s determination of the veracity of the flagged information. Thus, CISA likely significantly encouraged the platforms’ content-moderation decisions and thereby violated the First Amendment," the judges said.

The injunction stems from a lawsuit brought by Missouri and Louisiana attorneys general against the Biden administration that accused high-ranking government officials of working with giant social media companies "under the guise of combating misinformation" that ultimately led to censoring speech on topics, including Hunter Biden’s laptop, COVID-19 origins and the efficacy of face masks.

The attorneys general deposed several officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci and FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan. On July 4, federal Judge Terry A. Doughty of the Fifth Circuit ordered the first injunction, which prevents White House officials and federal agencies from meeting with tech companies about social media censorship, arguing that such actions likely violated the First Amendment.

The scathing Independence Day injunction said the government's actions during the pandemic were akin to "an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth.'"

"If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history," the injunction continues. "In their attempts to suppress alleged disinformation, the Federal Government, and particularly the Defendants named here, are alleged to have blatantly ignored the First Amendment’s right to free speech."

The Justice Department has appealed the court order to the Supreme Court, arguing that the government faced "irreparable harm" because Doughty's order may prevent the federal government from "working with social media companies on initiatives to prevent grave harm to the American people and our democratic processes."

Ukraine ‘very cheap way' to fight Russia, NATO state claims
[RT] Arming Kiev is a cost-effective way of preventing Moscow from threatening NATO, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said on Wednesday at the Warsaw Security Forum.

Ollongren was asked whether the US and its allies can continue supporting Ukraine "for as long as it takes," given the political in-fighting in Washington.

"We cannot pretend that we’ll just wait and see how the American elections are going," she said. "Because they have the same interest, in a way. Of course, supporting Ukraine is a very cheap way to make sure that Russia with this regime is not a threat to the NATO alliance. And it’s vital to continue that support."

Judge at Trump's NY civil fraud trial slams hand on bench, loses his cool during testimony: ‘This is ridiculous!'
[New York Post] The Manhattan judge deciding Donald Trump’s $250 million civil fraud trial lost his cool on Wednesday — slamming his hand on the bench and snapping, "This is ridiculous" — as the former president’s lawyers grilled his ex-accountant over inconsistent testimony.

The judge’s annoyed reaction came after Trump’s side claimed that Donald Bender, a partner at accounting firm Mazars USA, was evading their questions.

The attorneys had also repeatedly insisted they needed to meticulously go through Trump’s financial records with Bender "year by year."

"Don’t waste time," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron said sternly.
Appeal
Trump attorney Jesus Suarez had spent part of Tuesday afternoon and all of Wednesday morning cross-examining Bender — and said he would continue with the questioning through the end of the day.

"This is ridiculous!" Engoron said, hitting his hand on the bench. "Mr. Bender isn’t on trial here."
Appeal
Another Trump attorney, Christopher Kise, said the only things Bender "seems to recall are what the government wants him to recall."

Related: Arthur Engoron was a musician and cabbie [and always a Democrat]. Now he's deciding the Trump civil case

Every witness against, any defendant, in any court trial is also in a way on trial. It is called cross-examination and the offense of perjury or lies by omission or misdirection apply.

So are the Judge and/or DA worried that a deeper cross exam might uncover rehearsed, controlled, hidden or politically tainted testimony by the prosecution?

Because the judge is limiting Trumps lawyers from fully and properly questioning any prosecution witness or evidence about the inconsistencies in presented.

Plus by the Judge's display of temper, push for speed and application of court decorum process. He has open the door for Trump's appeal if needed.

Biden names ex-Hunter colleague to helm whistleblower agency
[NYPOST] President Biden selected an old legal colleague of his son Hunter Biden to helm the US Office of Special Counsel, whose primary purpose is protecting whistleblowers — like the ones who have alleged political interference in the five-year-old probe of the presidential scion.

Hampton Dellinger, nominated by Biden for the post of US Special Counsel Wednesday, worked on the Crisis Management and Government Response team at Boies Schiller Flexner in 2014.

Hunter Biden tapped that firm to assist Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings in 2014 and had dinner with Dellinger and others in March that same year, emails from his abandoned laptop show.

The younger Biden served on the board of Burisma from 2014 to 2019. It is unclear whether Dellinger did any legal work on Burisma’s behalf.

Trump says Biden sees the country being 'invaded,' warns of 'terrorists' already inside the US
Gee, if ignored this might be a campaign issue.
Inside the wire? Yes, that's when the real trouble begins.
[FoxNews] "Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday said there was an "acute and immediate need" to waive dozens of federal laws in order to build a border wall in south Texas where illegal migration has surged. "

#10  They are worried that the invaders might try to escape once they realize how bad Dem city life sucks. You can’t even get name brand mouthwash from CVS unless you buy it from a guy selling it from his car trunk.
