Afghanistan
Alien Intervention
With Nato forces withdrawing from the badlands of Afghanistan, the country's people need all the help they can get to keep extremists from once again seizing power.

But it seems a new intervention has come from an unlikely source... outer space.
U.S. Marines captured this incredible footage of what looks like a UFO hovering over a Taliban encampment - then blowing it to kingdom come.

The clip was reportedly filmed by U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan in March. Shot by a soldier standing next to a stationary armoured column, it shows a bizarre triangular object hanging in the sky not far ahead.

As soldiers look on, the craft slowly moves into position, before what appear to be muzzle flashes soundlessly emanate from its underside.

Sisi warns Egyptian press over freedoms
[Iran Press TV] The former Egyptian army chief and current presidential candidate, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, has warned newspaper editors not to press for freedom of speech and other rights.

Sisi, the likely winner of the election later this month, gave the warning during a meeting with editors of major newspapers on Thursday.

He said demands for greater freedom would jeopardize national security, calling on the senior editors not to press for dramatic reforms in state institutions by exposing corruption, and to give officials time to do their jobs.

"Give officials a chance for, say, four months," Sisi said, adding, "If you have information or a subject you need to whisper in the ear [of officials], it is possible to do that without exposing it."

Journalists have reportedly been the target of Egyptian authorities as part of a broader crackdown on dissent over the past months.

France to Deploy 3,000 Soldiers in Sahel
[AnNahar] La Belle France said Thursday it will deploy 3,000 soldiers to combat Islamist violence in the vast and largely lawless Sahel region
... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas...
of Africa.

"Our role is to pursue counter-terrorism in north Mali, the north of Niger and in Chad," Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a television interview.

"We are reorganizing our contingent so that 3,000 French soldiers are in that zone."

Le Drian said La Belle France was "in the process of ending its frontal war phase" in Mali but added that 1,000 French soldiers will remain, based near the town of Gao in the insurgency-hit northeast of the country.

La Belle France launched a military operation in January 2013 to support the Malian army and drive back Islamists advancing on the south. They evicted the rebels from northern Mali towns seized in the wake of a coup in Bamako in 2012.

The French deployment peaked at 5,000 troops, but Gay Paree had pledged to reduce its presence to 1,000 troops by early 2014.

"A certain number of jihadist groups still want to regroup in the North," said Le Drian.

"There are far fewer of them but they have nothing to lose, they have abandoned their lives, so we must fight with extreme precision against any attempt to regroup."

But he said the conflict had entered "a different phase" with U.N. forces now present in the country and the Malian army rebuilding itself.

Underlining the continued threat in the region, a French soldier was killed by a roadside kaboom overnight, the French presidency said.

The death brings the number of French soldiers killed in Mali to eight.

President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
expressed his "profound sadness" at the death and added that he had "total confidence in the French forces engaged on the side of Malians and the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
forces to continue the fight against armed terrorist groups."

Le Drian said northern Mali remains a "zone of danger, of trafficking of all types".

"We will stay there as long as it takes. There is no time limit."

Earlier this week, Malian military sources told AFP that the rebels in northern Mali have set up a commando unit that has executed alleged collaborators accused of helping French troops and Tuareg rebels.

"At least 11 people accused of being informers for (French military operation) Serval or the (Tuareg) MNLA (National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad) have been slain in the past 11 months by the Islamists," the source said.

Three main groups -- al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO
...Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa, another offshoot of Qaeda in North Africa. Currently active in Mali and southern Algeria, the idea is to do as much good in West Africa as AQIM has done in North Africa...
) and Ansar Dine (Defenders of Islam) -- occupied much of northern Mali for nine months in 2012 and carried out brutal acts against civilians in the name of Islamic sharia law.

Ben Ali-Era Strongman Freed in Tunisia
[AnNahar] A former interior minister under Tunisia's ousted president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, locked away
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
for the repression of anti-government protests, was freed from prison on Thursday, his lawyer said.

"Rafik Belhaj Kacem left prison today. He has served the whole of his sentence," Abeda Kefi told Agence La Belle France Presse, adding the ex-minister was sick and taken to a clinic.

A prison service official, asking not to be named, confirmed the release of Kacem, imprisoned since late January 2011.

The former Ben Ali regime strongman was sentenced to a lengthy prison term for "premeditated murder".

But the sentence was commuted in April to a three-year term, provoking angry protests by families of victims of the repression.

According to an official tally, more than 300 people were killed and hundreds injured in the crackdown by security forces against popular protests which led to Ben Ali's ouster.

Nigeria Says Girls Kidnap a Turning Point in Boko Haram Conflict
[AnNahar] Nigeria's president said Thursday that Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
's mass abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls would mark a turning point in the battle against the Islamists, as world powers joined the search to rescue the hostages.

President Goodluck Jonathan
... 14th President of Nigeria. He was Governor of Bayelsa State from 9 December 2005 to 28 May 2007, and was sworn in as Vice President on 29 May 2007. Jonathan is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a lover of nifty hats, which makes him easily recognizable unless someone else in the room is wearing a neat chapeau...
's administration has struggled to contain Boko Haram's bloody five-year uprising and experts have questioned whether Nigeria can end the violence without help.

"I believe that the kidnap of these girls will be the beginning of the end of terror in Nigeria," Jonathan told delegates at the World Economic Forum, thanking Britannia, China, La Belle France and the United States for their offers of help to rescue the hostages.

The four world powers have pledged varying levels of assistance to track down the girls whose April 14 mass abduction from Chibok in northeastern Borno state has sparked global outrage.

Jonathan's comments echoed those of U.S. President Barack Obama
Republicans can come along for the ride, but they've got to sit in the back...
earlier in the week.

Obama said the Chibok kidnappings "may be the event that helps to mobilize the entire international community to finally do something against this horrendous organization that's perpetrated such a terrible crime".

In the latest massacre by the Islamists, hundreds of people were killed this week in the town of Gamboru Ngala, which like Chibok is in northeastern Borno state, Boko Haram's historic stronghold.

Most of the bad boys' recent attacks have targeted the remote and deeply impoverished northeast, but two boom-mobileings on the outskirts of the capital Abuja in the last month underscored the grave threat the Islamists pose.

Jonathan had hoped that the World Economic Forum would highlight Nigeria's economic progress and its recent emergence as Africa's top economy, but headlines have remained focused on Boko Haram.

Holding the summit in Abuja despite the recent violence amounted to victory over the Death Eaters, the Nigerian leader said.

"You are supporting us in winning the war against terror," he told the more than 1,000 delegated from over 70 countries.

"If you had refused to come because of fear the terrorist would have jubilated," he added, saying the conference going ahead was "a major blow to the terrorists."

Nigeria has typically resisted security cooperation with the West, which analysts say has hampered efforts against the forces of Evil who have killed thousands since 2009.

American officials have acknowledged that the U.S. military had relatively weak ties with Nigeria and unlike many other African states, the government in Abuja has shown little interest in major training programs.

"In the past, the Nigerians have been reluctant to accept U.S. assistance, particularly in areas having to do with security," said John Campbell, former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria.

"Whatever assistance we might provide and might be welcomed by the Nigerian side is likely to be essentially technical," Campbell said.

Some have voiced hope that collaborating on the hostage rescue may improve Nigeria's broader capacity to defeat Boko Haram.

Washington plans to send a team of fewer than 10 military personnel as well as specialists from the Justice Department and the FBI, US officials said.

Britannia said it will send experts in planning and coordination, La Belle France has offered a specialist team, while China said it would make available "any useful information acquired by its satellites and intelligence services".

As concern grew worldwide over the fate of the 223 girls being held hostage and the rescue mission ramped up, the Islamists carried out another massacre near the northeastern border with Cameroon.

After storming Gamboru Ngala in armored vehicles after midday on Monday, the gunnies burnt traders alive in their stalls and murdered entire families.

"We have been collecting bodies from all over the town, on the streets and in burnt homes," resident Musa Abba said. "Nine members of a family were burnt alive in their home."

Area Senator Ahmed Zanna put the corpse count at 300, citing information provided by locals, in an account supported by other witnesses.

Zanna said the town had been left unguarded because soldiers based there had been redeployed north towards Lake Chad in an effort to rescue the schoolgirls.

Nigeria's military has been repeatedly accused of leaving unarmed civilians to fend for themselves during the uprising, which Boko Haram says is aimed at creating an Islamic state in mainly Moslem northern Nigeria

"Some bodies are burnt beyond recognition," Babagana Goni, another resident said. "Some of the bodies were shot while others had their throats slit, which made me sick. I couldn't continue the count."

World Powers Join Search for Abducted Nigerian Schoolgirls
[AnNahar] World powers, including the United States and China, have joined in the search for the more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram

Islamists who have also killed hundreds in the country's northeast this week.

Amid global outrage over the kidnapping of the teenagers, the United States, Britannia and La Belle France are sending specialist teams to Nigeria.

#5  Ahh, you're just saying that because virtually the entire coastal population from Lisbon to Venice was raided in the 16th-17th century.

For example, ancient navy. Back then, the Christians had slaves but were always lacking manpower for the oars. It was somewhere in enjoyment between Ben Hur and the rpe scene in Pulp Fiction so slaves filled the manpower problem. The mohammadans, why they had so many slaves they had at least three major navies and a market overstock so great it was oftentimes better to let potential slaves drown and get the foodstuffs captured.

Start with Barbarossa, who had a quite successful career enslaving Europeans.

#6  Slave as from slav, the Byzantines had such a enormous source of the commodity, that the name became synonymous with the practice. BTW, one of the very first acts to end slavery in the world was in the newly minted United States with the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 banning the practice in the territories. Not that anyone will credit that fact in the great guilt trip game.

U.S. Closes Yemen Embassy amid Fears of Qaida Revenge Attacks
[AnNahar] The U.S. embassy was closed to the public Thursday in Yemen after a spate of attacks against foreigners and fears that al-Qaeda will seek Dire Revenge™ for a deadly offensive in the south.

"The embassy is closed today. And this will remain in effect until further notice," an employee at the U.S. mission in a heavily-guarded neighborhood in northeast Sanaa, told AFP.

Police were deployed along all roads leading to the embassy and conducted a thorough inspection of vehicles in the vicinity in line with security measures put in place several months ago.

State Department spokeswoman Jan Psaki said Wednesday that the embassy would be temporarily closed to the public "due to recent attacks against Western interests in Yemen".

These attacks "and information we have received have given us enough concern to take this precautionary step," she said in a statement.

On Monday a Frenchie was killed and another was maimed when gunnies opened fire on their car in Sanaa's diplomatic district.

Both worked for a private security firm that officials said was guarding the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
delegation in Yemen.

On Wednesday, Yemeni security forces rubbed out the head of a "terror cell" behind Monday's attack, the country's supreme security committee said.

Later that day the interior ministry said it was searching for suspects whose vehicles were involved in recent attacks in Sanaa after "five al-Qaeda terrorists" were tossed in the slammer
Please don't kill me!
in several parts of the capital.

The suspects had "arms, ammunition, and devices used to carry out terrorist acts" in their possession, it said.

The developments came as Yemen pressed with a deadly offensive against strongholds of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in the lawless south of the country.

As the operation entered its 10th day Thursday the defense ministry announced that the army had seized control of a major AQAP stronghold in Azzan, in southern Shabwa province.

Authorities have reported that several al-Qaeda commanders were among dozens of suspected snuffies killed since the operation was launched on April 29.

"These huge losses will push al-Qaeda to commit hysterical and desperate acts by mobilizing its supporters and dormant cells to attack police and army officers," the interior ministry said Monday.

The offensive against AQAP suspects was launched in the rugged southern and central provinces, where a wave of U.S. drone strikes killed scores of suspected snuffies last month.

AQAP is seen by the United States as the network's deadliest franchise.

The group, a merger of al-Qaeda in Yemen and Soddy Arabia

, has been linked to a number of failed terror plots against the United States.

AQAP leader Nasser al-Wuhayshi vowed, in a rare video appearance last month, to attack Western "crusaders" wherever they are.

Al-Qaeda usually uses the term crusaders to refer to Western powers, especially the ones which have intervened militarily in Moslem countries, mainly the United States, Britannia and La Belle France.

In her statement on Wednesday the State Department spokeswoman said that Washington would "evaluate the security every day and.. reopen the embassy to the public once it is deemed appropriate.

The U.S. embassy and several Western missions in Yemen closed in August after U.S. warnings of an al-Qaeda attack.

Europe
Belgium, Allies Try to Halt Flow of Young Islamist Fighters to Syria
[AnNahar] Several European countries met Thursday with officials from the United States, Turkey, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia to discuss how to stop young Islamist fighters joining rebels in Syria.

The fear is that the young fighters become even more radicalized and return home with extensive military experience which can be put to terrorist ends, Belgian Interior Minister Joelle Milquet said.

"It is not just a national problem, it is international, with many countries affected," Milquet said, highlighting the presence of al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria.

Milquet said there were no single headline-making measures to solve a problem which required slow but steady work out of the limelight.

"If we stop their departure, then we will not have the problem of returning (fighters)," her French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve said, stressing the need for preventative measures.

The two ministers said it was essential to work together and share information so as to break up recruitment and funding networks channeling Islamic fighters into Syria.

Both welcomed the presence of Turkey and Jordan at the talks as they serve as transfer points for getting into Syria and along with Morocco and Tunisia also suffer from the problem of returning radicalized youths.

Milquet set up the informal ministerial group with La Belle France last year and they were then joined by Britannia, the Netherlands and Spain

Abu Hamza lost hands in Pakistan army experiment
[DAWN] British hate preacher Abu Hamza told his US terror trial Thursday that his hands were blown off during a Pakistain army explosives experiment in Lahore in 1993.

The device was prepared by an Arab with the same name as an expert alleged to have taught al Qaeda recruits in Afghanistan in 2000-01.

Mustafa Kamel Mustafa, 56, better known in Britannia as Abu Hamza al-Masri has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
in New York to 11 kidnapping and terror counts that pre-date 9/11.

He is charged over the 1998 kidnapping in Yemen of 16 Westerners, conspiracy to set up a jihad training camp in Oregon in 1999, of providing material support to al Qaeda, of assisting the Taliban and of sending recruits for terror training in Afghanistan.

Work in Pakistain
Taking the stand in his defense for a second day, he told the court he moved with his family to Pakistain in 1992 to do reconstruction work in war-torn Afghanistan.

After Saudi funders pulled the plug on multi-million-dollar projects, he said he helped Arab veterans of the 1980s Afghan jihad against the Soviet Union find jobs with the Pakistain army.

Those with army tactics and explosives experience were wanted "to help with the army in other areas of conflict," Abu Hamza testified.

In 1993 he said he was designing a steel plate with a Pak engineer as part of a wider, unidentified project for which "others were designing explosives." He said he introduced the army to "some Arabs," including an Egyptian married to a Pak woman.

This Arab had the same name, Abu Khabab, as the man whom British al Qaeda recruit Saajid Badat said taught explosives at a jihad training camp in Afghanistan in 1999-2001.

The work took place in army issued accommodations in the city of Lahore, close to the Indian border, he said.

"I was very surprised," Abu Hamza said, describing how explosives were tested on empty land between two villas outside on the street.

"I was surprised why the neighbors were not complaining or calling the police. They were all army families," he said.

Pakistain army asked him to keep quiet
The Arab man was lax with "health and safety," he said, and prepared a small container of explosives which "Commander Ilyas" put in a detonator before leaving.

Abu Hamza said he picked up the device, which was getting hot, but couldn't throw it in the bathroom as previously advised because someone was at the sink.

He said he "felt the kaboom" and saw blood before falling into a coma. He was taken to a military hospital in Lahore, where he spent a month.

Abu Hamza later flew to London to be fitted with a prosthetic before returning to Pakistain to collect his children six months later in early 1994, he told the court.

He said the army offered not to round up any more Arab former mujahideen in exchange for his silence.

"The army said look we're not going to make any more arrests, just don't embarrass us about what happened," the preacher said.

He described his hospital treatment in Pakistain as "the very best" and that doctors in England "were very impressed about how my stumps were done and healed." Previous reports said that he lost his arms in Afghanistan, but Abu Hamza said "all sorts of stories" had circulated about the reason for his injuries.

The preacher got a laugh from the court when he said one of the stories had been that his hands were cut off in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
when he was caught stealing.

He later became emotional when asked about the 1995 massacre of Bosnian Moslems in Srebrenica, forcing Judge Katherine Forrest to call a seven-minute break. He also testified to changing his name legally on his British passport in order to travel to Bosnia in the mid-1990s to provide cars and money to Moslem fighters.

Abu Hamza made another joke, saying it was as easy as paying 25 pounds ($42 in today's money) and giving your name as John Travolta, to further laughs. He faces life in prison in a maximum security US prison if convicted by jury at the New York court.

Plea to cancel bails in Joseph Colony case dismissed
[DAWN] Announcing a reserved verdict, a Lahore High Court division bench on Wednesday dismissed a Punjab government appeal seeking cancellation of bails granted by an anti-terrorism court to around 87 suspects involved in Joseph Colony's arson attack.

The bench comprising Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi had reserved the judgment on Tuesday after the defence and prosecution concluded their arguments.

Punjab prosecution department had filed the appeal saying the trial court released the suspects ignoring facts of the tragic incident. It said hundreds of Christian community's homes were burnt and the incident had tarnished the image of the country in the world. The department urged the court to withdraw the bails granted to the suspects by the trial court.

Counsel for the suspects argued that the police had implicated them in the case only to show performance. The counsel said the police had failed to produce any evidence against them before the trial court. He asked the court to dismiss the government's appeal.

Ajmal Kasab is alive, teacher tells court in Rawalpindi
[DAWN] The head master of the school, where Ajmal Kasab had allegedly studied, appeared before an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi where he presented educational records and stated that the person whose record was submitted was alive and could be produced in court if needed, DawnNews reported.

School teacher, Mudassir, had brought along with him records containing information on Ajmal Kasab's school admission and exit which was submitted in court.

During his cross-examination, Mudassir was asked about his last contact with Kasab, to which he replied that he had met with Ajmal Kasab a few days earlier.

He further said that he did not know the Ajmal Kasab who was hanged in India adding that Kasab was alive and could be produced in court if needed.

At least 10 heavily-gunnies took siege of the Indian financial hub city of Mumbai in November 2008, killing at least 166 people in a three-day onslaught.

The siege ended after the army was called in, killing all attackers except for lone surviving gunman, Ajmal Kasab.

India had blamed Pakistain-based-Death Eaters for orchestrating the attack.

Initially Pak authorities had denied Indian claims of Kasab being a Pak national but had later confirmed that the only surviving attacker belonged to Pakistain.

Ajmal Kasab was later hanged in November 2012 in a Pune jail.

Rice Reassures Israel on Iran Nuclear Ambitions
Not that any of the details matter until Iran launches their nukes in the direction of Israel, and the White House, Foggy Bottom, and certain offices in the Pentagon go into premature mourning over the inevitable.
[AnNahar] U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice assured Israel at high-level bilateral talks on Thursday that Washington remained determined to stop Iran developing nuclear arms, the White House said.

"The U.S. delegation reaffirmed our commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon," said a White House statement released after talks in Jerusalem between Rice, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and bigwigs from both sides.

"The delegations held thorough consultations on all aspects of the challenge posed by Iran, and pledged to continue the unprecedented coordination between the United States and Israel," it added."

Earlier, Netanyahu said that the best defense against a nuclear Iran was to block it from developing such a weapon in the first place and he referred to a new round of talks between Tehran and world powers due to open next week in Vienna.

"The most important thing is that Iran does not attain the ability to develop a nuclear weapon, and that needs to be and must be the ultimate and most important goal of the current negotiations with Iran," he said.

"That needs to be the object of the talks, that is Israel's position, that needs to be the position of everyone who really wants to prevent the renewed threat of mass destruction by a radical regime," Netanyahu said at a ceremony marking the 69th anniversary of the allied defeat of Nazi Germany.

The White House statement said the Israeli-U.S. talks Thursday also dealt with "other critical regional and bilateral issues," without elaborating.

"The delegations shared views candidly and intensively, in the spirit of the extraordinary and unprecedented security cooperation between our two countries," it said

It was Rice's first trip to Israel since she took office last July and it came shortly after the collapse of U.S.-brokered Middle East peace talks.

The White House is assessing whether to try to salvage its Middle East peace efforts after the collapse in late April of nine months of U.S.-brokered negotiations vigorously promoted by Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry

"No, no, no, dear boy, of course you won't have to accept Israel as a Jewish nation. Don't be ridiculous!"

Broederbond ties to the WH, and everyone goes to the same Boston mosque.
[WND] NEW YORK -- The controversy that developed in 2012 when Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and four other GOP members of the House sent letters to the inspector generals at the departments of Homeland Security, Justice and State asking for an investigation of the influence played by the Muslim Brotherhood on U.S. government officials in the Obama administration took on new light last week.

On the distribution list of the "smoking gun" email released in the Benghazi probe last week was a figure with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Medhi Alhassani, who shares a similar background with Huma Abedin, the longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, reported former PLO-member and Arabic-speaking researcher Walid Shoebat.

As WND reported, Abedin had been a particular concern of Bachmann and other GOP congressmen who were calling for further investigation of the Muslim Brotherhood influence on the White House.

The email released last week in a FOIA request by Judicial Watch was from Ben Rhodes, a White House special assistant in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the National Security Council.

"It is obvious that as a Muslim Brotherhood operative, Alhassani wanted to blame the video for the violence that erupted in the Middle East," Shoebat commented, referring to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. compound at Benghazi.

"This aligned the Muslim fundamentalists with the Obama administration in at least one respect -- each had a stake in blaming the video."

WND has reported that in criminalizing the Muslim Brotherhood and prosecuting key Muslim Brotherhood leaders, Egypt's military government has sought to embarrass the Obama administration for the support it gave the now-deposed government of Muslim Brotherhood lead Mohamed Morsi.

WND has also reported that Egyptian terrorists with ties to the Morsi government and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt were perpetrators in the terrorist Benghazi attack.

The Muslim Student Association connection

Alhassani was the president of the Muslim Student Association, MSA, at George Washington University in 2005 and 2006. He served internships with the White House, the State Department and the Labor Department while also working for the Managed Assets Department of the financial company Ferris Baker and Watts, according to a biography published in a document titled "Participants at the Citizen Dialogue Group" posted on the website of the Islamic Institute of Boston, or IIB.

In 1981, the MSA founded the Islamic Society of Boston in conjunction with Abdurahman Alamoudi, who was subsequently convicted to federal prison for 23 years for providing funding to terrorist organizations, including al-Qaida, with the guidance of Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

Before he was sentenced to federal prison for terrorist activities, Alamoudi served as an Islamic-affairs adviser and State Department "goodwill ambassador" to Muslim nations under former President Bill Clinton. He met with senior Clinton and Bush administration officials in his capacity as the head of the American Muslim Council.

The Islamic Society of Boston is where the Boston Marathon bomber suspects Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev worshiped.

In 2001, just after the 9/11 attacks, an article published on Scholastic.com established that Alhassani, when he was a teenager, worshiped at the Islamic Center of Boston's mosque in Wayland, Massachusetts.
I'd bet a farthing, Alhassani [like the Tsarnaev bros], was on TSA 'Mo fly' list.

#2  The Muslim Society of Boston with its $22+ million mosque and Islamic cultural center has long been associated with Muslim Brotherhood ideologue Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi. Likewise, it was also tied to Washington D.C. Islamist Abdurahman Muhammad Alamoudi who was arrested in September 2003. Alamoudi himself had founded the Islamic Society of Boston in 1982 and was the organziations first president. The relationship between Alamoudi and Qaradawi was later manifested in 2005 thanks to the investigation of a Boston television station.

#3  One wonders if Alhassani is any relation to the Alhassani who is the power behind the Iraqi Muslim Brotherhood and its political party in that country.
