El Paso Democrat mayor sends five chartered buses to New York, Chicago, and Denver
[HotAir] You know things are bad when DHS Secretary Mayorkas makes a trip to the southern border. The man does everything he can to ignore what is going on with the Biden border crisis.

The last couple of weeks have been so bad at the border that CNN and some legacy networks sent reporters to cover the situation. That very rarely happens. Viewers tuned in and saw illegal immigrants slithering under razor wire or walking across the Rio Grande River with impunity. Border Patrol were instructed by DHS to cut the razor wire so illegals can enter Texas without injury. The numbers are astronomical again, just as they were before the June lull after Title 42 ended. Biden was warned. While the administration was boasting that their predictions that it wouldn’t be so bad at the border when Title 42 ended, and June’s numbers dipped, the predictions that the cartels and smugglers were re-grouping and would come back stronger than ever were true.

The numbers don’t lie. 232,972 migrant encounters are being reported in the month of August. That number may be updated. The number of illegal migrant encounters for Fiscal Year 2023 is the highest number ever.

There is Tuberculosis coming into the country via the El Paso sector.

Now we have a public health crisis on top of the humanitarian crisis and the national security crisis at the southern border.

El Paso’s mayor says his city is at a breaking point. The city is opening a new shelter for illegal aliens. It has chartered five buses to transport some to New York, Chicago, and Denver. Now we’re talking, Mayor Oscar Leeser. He gave a press conference on Saturday and reported that 2,000 people are seeking asylum every day. The city’s shelter capacity has been exceeded. “The city of El Paso only has so many resources and we have come to … a breaking point right now,” the mayor said.

Afghanistan
Formation of Ulema Council Completed for All Provinces: Mujahid
[ToloNews] The Islamic Emirate’s Spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, said that the formation of the councils of Ulema (religious scholars) for all provinces have been completed.

The Ulema councils have been appointed by the Islamic Emirate’s leader, Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Mujahid said that the councils are established to increase coordination between the people and the interim government. He said the councils are composed of religious holy mans and also some tribal elders.

"It has been two days since the councils have been completed. The latest council was the council of Ulema for Pashtun-infested Logar province. The councils are important. They will work as a hub between the people and government," Mujahid said.

He said the councils are comprised of religious holy mans and some tribal elders.

"The formation of the Ulema council has differences in various provinces. In some areas, there are tribal elders and also the Ulema. But in some areas, if there are no tribal elders, it does not mean that they will not be included. But their numbers will increase as there are some names under assessment," Mujahid said.

Political analysts gave various opinions regarding the formation of the Ulema council.

"The influential tribal figures should be included in it. It will have a positive impact on solving the issue and managing affairs," said Habibullah Janibdar, a political analyst.

"The line of their duty should be announced nationwide, so the citizens understand what the difference is between the duty of the Ulema council and the Ministry of Vice and Virtue and other departments," said Mohammad Afzal Habib Safi, a political analyst.

Earlier, Mujahid said that the councils will share their views regarding women’s work and activities in the government, based on Sharia.

The Islamic Emirate’s leader ordered the establishment of Ulema councils in Jadi in 1401 (solar year).

Mali: junta announces postponement of presidential election
[AFRICANEWS] The ruling junta in Mali announced on Monday the postponement of presidential elections scheduled for February 2024.
And everyone was just so surprised!
In a statement, government spokesperson Abdoulaye Maïga told journalists in Bamako that the dates initially scheduled for the two rounds of voting, February 4 and 18, 2024, would be "slightly postponed for technical reasons".

Among these technical reasons, the authorities cited factors linked to the adoption of new constitution earlier this year and the revision of electoral rolls. They also cited a dispute with French company, Idemia, which they say is involved in the census process.

The government has said that the the new dates for the election will be announced at a later stage.

Mali held a referendum in June, 2023, on a new constitution which strengthens the president's powers and gives pride of place to the country's military. Despite criticism of the draft constitution, the "yes" vote won, with 96.91 percent of the votes counted backing the plans.

US to 'evaluate' Niger ties after France kicked out
[AFRICANEWS] Washington will "consider all future steps" regarding its military presence in Niger, following La Belle France's announcement that it will withdraw its troops from the country by the end of the year, the US Secretary of Defense said on Monday.

"While giving diplomacy a chance, we will also continue to explore all future steps that will prioritize both our diplomatic and security objectives," Lloyd Austin told a presser in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, where he is visiting.

President Emmanuel Macron announced on Sunday the return to Gay Paree of the French ambassador in Niamey and the withdrawal from Niger of the 1,500 French troops based in the country.

"We are ending our military cooperation with the de facto authorities in Niger, because they no longer want to fight terrorism," said the French president.

The United States has some 1,100 troops stationed in Niger, engaged against jihadist groups active in the region.

"We have not made any significant changes to the positioning of our forces and (...) we really want a diplomatic solution, a peaceful outcome", assured the US Secretary of Defense, who refused to comment on Gay Paree' decision.

The Pentagon had announced on September 7 that it was repositioning its troops "as a precaution", transferring some soldiers from a base in the capital Niamey to an air base further north.

On September 14, the United States announced that it was resuming surveillance flights over Niger, which it had interrupted after the military coup in late July. The rest of its military operations in the country remained frozen, a Pentagon spokeswoman said.

The withdrawal of French troops from Niger, which had been one of Gay Paree's last allies in the Sahel before the July 26 coup and the overthrow of elected president Mohammed Bazoum, follows those of Mali and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, where La Belle France has already been pushed out by hostile juntas.

Benin: Families mourn victims of contraband fuel depot fire
[AFRICANEWS] The mood in the Seme-Krake neighborhood of Benin's capital Cotonou is still sombre as families mourn their dead who perished in a fire which gutted a contraband fuel depot on Saturday.

There was still a heavy security presence in the area on Sunday. One man said he had lost four family members in the blaze.

"We don't know where the fire started and there were a lot of people in the warehouse. I myself have four members of my family who perished in the flames. My younger brother - same father, same mother - and his eldest son, my brother's wife and my brother-in-law's wife," said Antoine Djanta, a shopkeeper.

Benin is a major destination for smuggled fuel from Neighboring Nigeria. Fire accidents at illegal refineries, pipelines and fuel dumps are common in Nigeria too.

Many Beninese make a living from selling contraband fuel.

A decision in May by Nigeria's government to end a fuel subsidy caused a dramatic rise in prices, increasing the appetite for smuggled fuel.

120,000 ethnic Armenians start leaving Nagorno-Karabakh
[Dawn] The 120,000 ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh have decided to leave for Armenia because they do not want to live as part of Azerbaijan and fear ethnic cleansing, the leadership of the breakaway region said on Sunday.

Armenia’s prime minister said the Karabakh Armenians were likely to leave the region, and that Armenia was ready to take them in, following a defeat last week at the hands of Azerbaijan in a conflict dating from the fall of the Soviet Union.

The Armenians of Karabakh — a territory internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan but previously beyond Baku’s control — were forced to declare a ceasefire on Sept 20 after a lightning 24-hour military operation by the much larger Azerbaijani military.

Kadyrov proudly admits his son beat the man who burned the Koran
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA] The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published a video on his Telegram channel in which his son Adam beats Nikita Zhuravel, who was detained for burning the Koran in Volgograd.

“Without exaggeration, yes, I am proud of Adam’s actions. He was always distinguished by the desire to grow not among his peers, but among older ones, thanks to which he formed adult ideals of honor, dignity and defense of his religion. I respect his choice,” said the head of the republic.

In his opinion, a person who has offended tens of millions of Russians with his actions should be severely punished. The head of the region noted that Russia has a “unique law” that protects sacred scriptures at the state level.

In August, Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova asked Chechen Ombudsman Mansur Soltaev to check information about the beating of Nikita Zhuravel in the Grozny pre-trial detention center.

Security forces detained the man at the end of spring. According to investigators, no later than May 19, he burned the Koran near the Cathedral Mosque, located on Povorinskaya Street in Volgograd. At the same time, Zhuravel filmed his actions and then published the video on an Internet portal controlled by the TsIPsO of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During interrogation, Zhuravel stated that he committed this crime at the direction of the Ukrainian special services for ten thousand rubles. He subsequently handed over the video to an SBU officer. The man also admitted that he was filming Russian military installations on instructions from Kiev.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the second part of Article 148 of the Criminal Code of Russia “Public actions expressing clear disrespect for society and committed with the aim of insulting the religious feelings of believers.”

‘Green Party is a security risk to the country!' – German coalition turns inwards over migration
[h/t Gates of Vienna] The German Green Party is a security risk to the country over its refusal to budge on proposed EU asylum reforms, the secretary general of its co-governing FDP party has claimed.

In an interview with the German Press Agency on Saturday, FDP Secretary General Bijan Djir-Sarai called for an urgent rethink of Germany’s migration policy after the recent asylum crisis saturated state services and led to support for the liberal coalition plummeting in favor of the conservative opposition.

"We need a cross-party solution to the challenges in migration policy," said Djir-Sarai as he urged his party’s fellow junior coalition partner to give up its "blockade" to the controversial EU asylum policy.

"Whether with reforms at the European level or with the classification of safe countries of origin, the Greens are a security risk for the country in migration policy and their unrealistic positions make consistent government action and cross-party solutions more difficult," the FDP politician warned.

Italian PM admits she hoped to do ‘better’ on migration
[Dawn] Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has admitted she had hoped to do "better" on controlling irregular migration, which has surged since her far-right party won historic elections a year ago.

"Clearly we hoped for better on immigration, where we worked so hard," she said in an interview marking the win, broadcast late on Saturday on the TG1 channel.

"The results are not what we hoped to see. It is certainly a very complex problem, but I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it." Meloni’s post-fascist
...anybody you disagree with, damn them...
Brothers of Italia party was elected in large part on a promise to reduce mass migration into Italia. But the number of people arriving on boats from North Africa has instead surged, with more than 130,000 recorded by the interior ministry so far this year — up from 70,000 in the same period of 2022.

After 8,500 people arrived on the tiny island of Lampedusa in just three days earlier this month, Meloni demanded the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
do more to help relieve the pressure.

Brussels agreed to intensify existing efforts, and this week said it would start to release money to Tunisia — from where many of the boats leave — under a pact aimed at stemming irregular migration from the country.

But Meloni’s main coalition partner, Matteo Salvini of the anti-immigration League party, has been dismissive of EU efforts to manage the surge of arrivals that he dubbed an "act of war".

Customs And Border Protection cut a barbed wire barrier put in place by Texas National Guard
[Gateway] Once again, Biden’s America. The invasion just keeps going with no end in sight. The United States of America under the criminal Biden Regime perpetuates this unconstitutional crisis.

On Monday, Customs And Border Protection cut a barbed wire barrier and allowed illegal aliens to flood into Eagle Pass, Texas. You can thank Joe for that.

"Eagle Pass, Texas where just moments ago, Customs and Border Protection cut a hole through the constantina wire that has been stretched by Texas DPS along the border there to allow migrants to come through. It was initially a group of about 60 to 70 people. It swelled to some 300 very, very quickly."

Pro-Khalistan Outfit SFJ's Gurpatwant Singh Pannun 'Wants To Divide India, Create Many Countries': Report
[OneIndia] Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani hard boy based in Canada, have a goal of partitioning India into multiple nations, according to a dossier from the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The dossier discloses that Pannun's primary objective, through his organization Sikh for Justice (SFJ), is to fragment India and establish a distinct Moslem state known as the 'democratic republic of Urduistan,' with the intention of separating Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
from India.

The report from IANS, citing the dossier, indicates that Pannun's aim is to create divisions in India along religious lines, with a focus on influencing the Moslem population to form a separate Moslem nation named 'the democratic republic of Urduistan.'

Furthermore, he is actively engaged in radicalizing the people of Kashmir, potentially aiding in their separation from India.

The police dossier reveals that Pannun is facing 16 registered cases across the country, including in Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.

Pannun has offered a $2.5 million reward for anyone who raises the Khalistani flag at India Gate and a $1 million reward for any police officer who prevents the hoisting of the Indian Tricolor at the Red Fort, as witnessed on August 15, 2021.

On July 7, 2022, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) officially designated him as a terrorist.

Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) confiscated the Chandigarh residence and agricultural land belonging to Gurpatwant Pannun in Khankot village, Amritsar, following orders from the NIA court. A property confiscation notice was posted by NIA officials outside the house owned by the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder and designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in Chandigarh.

Quran desecration in Hague 'deliberately provocative, Islamophobic act': FO
[GEO.TV] Pakistain condemned in the strongest terms the latest senseless and deeply offensive act of desecration of the Holy Koran outside embassies of Moslem countries in The Hague, Netherlands, terming it a "deliberately provocative and Islamophobic act", the Foreign Office said on Monday.

"It is a deliberately provocative and Islamophobic act that has hurt the sentiments of Moslems around the world. Such acts cannot be condoned under the guise of freedom of expression, opinion and protest," a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) read.

It added that the country believes that freedom of expression comes with responsibilities.

Pakistain also urged the governments of different countries to actively prevent racist and Islamophobic acts, which incite religious hatred.

"It is important for the international community to raise its voice against Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
and work in concert to promote interfaith harmony," the statement also said while referring to the 2022 United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
resolution on combating Islamophobia.

It further stated that Islamabad has conveyed its concerns to the Dutch authorities. "We urge them to be mindful of the sentiments of the people of Pakistain and Moslems around the world and take active steps to prevent such hateful and Islamophobic acts."

It may be noted that the incidents of Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women's noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship....
and desecration have been on the rise for the last few months.

Last month, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed grave concern over an increase in Islamophobia after a spike in incidents of Holy Koran burning in Nordic nations.

Notorious people, with their governments' approval, have in the last few weeks desecrated the holy book in Sweden and Denmark, inviting strong criticism from Moslem countries.
Dawn adds:
Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah had reported on Saturday that Dutch far-right activist Edwin Wagensveld, who leads the Dutch branch of the far-right group Pegida, had desecrated the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish, Pakistani and Indonesian embassies in the Hague and “insulted Islam and Muslims”.

Separately, Saudi Arabia also issued a condemnation and denounced the incident in a statement posted earlier today on the social media platform X.

Meanwhile, Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi called for “urgent and effective international steps to confront these aggressive and provocative actions against Muslims.”

The OIC also criticised the “provocative act” in a statement issued a day ago.

Last month, Wagensveld had trampled on and tore up a copy of the Holy Quran at a demonstration outside the Turkish embassy in The Hague, infuriating dozens of counter-protesters.

The Dutch government had already condemned the holding of the demonstration ahead of the event but said it had no legal powers to prevent it.

Similar incidents of the Holy Quran’s desecration have taken place in other European countries recently. In late July, two men set fire to a copy of the Quran in front of the Swedish parliament, and similar incidents have taken place in Denmark this year.

Such demonstrations have provoked anger and condemnations and sometimes unrest in several Muslim countries.

Muslim leaders addressing the United Nations General Assembly last week had berated the West over torchings of the Holy Quran.

Pak Purge: Confusion surrounds Imran Khan's shifting from Attock to Adiala jail despite IHC ruling
[GEO.TV] Confusion regarding the current location of Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
arose on Monday as authorities of Adiala jail denied reports of the former prime minister's shifting to the prison after his lawyers made such claims.

Hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the authorities concerned to move Khan to Adiala prison from the Attock jail, where he had been incarcerated for over a month, the members of his legal team said that the orders had been complied with.

Naeem Panjhota, who is the spokesperson of Khan on legal affairs, claimed that the ousted premier — who was removed from power via a parliamentary vote in April last year — has been shifted to the prison in Adiala.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
the Adiala jail administration refuted the claim, saying that Khan has not yet been shifted there.

Later, taking to X — formerly known as Twitter — Panjhuta said that he had been informed that Imran Khan had been shifted to Adiala jail but "it is beyond understanding that Attock jail [authorities] are also saying that they have PTI chairman."

Iraq
US yet to provide redress to Abu Ghraib torture victims in Iraq: HRW
[Rudaw] Nearly two decades later, Iraqis who were tortured by US personnel have yet to be compensated or provided with other redress by the US government, a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report said on Monday.

"Twenty years on, Iraqis who were tortured by US personnel still have no clear path for filing a claim or receiving any kind of redress or recognition from the US government," said Sarah Yager, Washington director at Human Rights Watch.

"US officials have indicated that they prefer to leave torture in the past, but the long-term effects of torture are still a daily reality for many Iraqis and their families," she added.

Pak: Christian graveyard in Rakh Dhamial remains incomplete
What they do:
[Dawn] The Rawalpindi administration failed to complete the construction of a 100-kanal graveyard for the Christian community in Rakh Dhamial, even though the work on the 900-kanal portion of the cemetery reserved for Moslem residents has already been completed.

The government allocated 100 kanal in Rakh Dhamial for the graveyard for religious minorities, while 900 kanal was allocated for a graveyard for Moslem residents. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
the Christian cemetery is still not completed.

The work on Rakh Dhamial Graveyard started in 2017 during the tenure of PML-N in Punjab. Former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif also established the ’Sher-e-Khamoshan’ authority to improve the condition of the graveyards in the province.

In 2021, former mayor Sardar Naseem allocated Rs20 million for development work at Rakh Dhamial Graveyard; three funeral buses were also purchased.

On the other hand, the officials of the district administration said that the people were not interested in Rakh Dhamial cemetery because of the distance, since it was out of the city.

"There is no proper transport to move the dead bodies and the people who would go there to attend the funeral prayers.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, during his visit to the graveyard, claimed that more funeral buses would be provided to facilitate the public. Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation Chief Officer Chaudhry Amjad and other officials were also present on this occasion.

The commissioner claimed that the Rakh Dhamial graveyard was fulfilling the burial needs of Rawalpindi city. 100 kanal in the graveyard was earmarked exclusively for the Christian community, he added.

He said that this was the "proof" that the protection of the rights of minorities was ensured in Pakistain. "Space will be allocated in the cemetery for the rest of the minorities as well. The minorities have full religious freedom in Pakistain. An atmosphere of brotherhood is established by inter-faith harmony," the official further claimed.

He said the Rakh Dhamial graveyard had regular planning. "A regular number is allotted to each grave," he said, asking the administration to keep a written record of the burials.

The commissioner further said that a block will be allocated in the Rakh graveyard for the cantonment area. He also reviewed the water facility in the graveyard.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Maldives follow Saudi lead in restoring ties with Iran
[IsraelTimes] Move by South Asian archipelagic state, a destination for Israeli tourists which has had intermittent Israel ties, follows talks between Maldives and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
