ICE confirms Georgia student murder suspect entered US illegally, was previously arrested in NYC
[Foxnews] Jose Ibarra arrested by NYPD in Sept 2023 for child endangerment but released before detainer issued

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Sunday confirmed that the Venezuelan national charged in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 and had previously been arrested in New York City.

Fox News had previously reported that 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra, charged with the murder of Riley on the University of Georgia campus, had crossed into the U.S. illegally near El Paso in September 2022 and was paroled into the U.S.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, ICE confirmed he had been encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Sept. 8, 2022, after entering near El Paso and was "paroled and released for further processing."

ICE also confirmed that Ibarra had been arrested by the New York Police Department a year later, on Sept. 14, 2023, and "charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation."

When ICE learns that what it believes to be a removable illegal immigrant has been arrested on criminal charges, the agency will normally lodge a detainer – a request asking local law enforcement to keep the suspect in custody until they can be transferred to ICE and put into deportation proceedings.

In this case, however, ICE's statement says Ibarra was released before a detainer could be issued. NYC is also a "sanctuary city," which generally restricts law enforcement from complying with ICE detainers.

In its statement, ICE said that its Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Atlanta "encountered Ibarra pursuant to his arrest by the University of Georgia Police Department and being charged with murder and other crimes. ERO Atlanta lodged a detainer."

Layling Franco, 23, of Venezuela, the wife of Ibarra, told the New York Post that she and her 5-year-old son were in the El Paso facility for five days before they made the journey to New York.

"We got married so we could join our asylum cases," she told the Post. "He was the person I thought I could see through. We’ve known each other our entire lives."

Franco, who is not accused of any wrongdoing regarding the case, said Ibarra was a calm person and that he left New York because he wanted to get a better job in Georgia.

"He wasn’t aggressive, none of that," she told the outlet. "We had problems as a couple, but our problems weren’t physical. We wouldn’t punch, but we’d raise our voices."

She told the Post that she's seeing news of the crime "everywhere."

"I want to talk to [Jose]," she said. "I have a lot of faith that this wasn’t him, that there was a misunderstanding somewhere. But if he did, he has to pay for what he did, truly."

Riley, an Augusta University nursing student, was found dead Thursday after previously attending UGA before entering a nursing program at Augusta's Athens campus, where she made the dean's list.

Police have charged Ibarra with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another, authorities said on Friday.

Ibarra appeared in court on Saturday morning, when Clarke County Magistrate Judge Donarell Green denied his bond "for today." Two translators were present. Ibarra nodded when spoken to.

Ibarra’s brother, Diego, was charged Friday with possessing a fraudulent green card and is being held in state custody. The federal arrest affidavit for Diego Ibarra says that in September 2023, Athens-Clarke County Police charged him with drunken driving and driving without a license. He was later arrested for shoplifting and later skipped court.

#2

As avast majority of US CITIZENS have clearly seen the mass influx of Military / VOTING age illegals.
Data shows, with them came all types of issues.

Like:
* UN-VAX'd for highly contagious, common diseases like chickenpox, measles and more,

* Illegal Drugs,
* Prison dumped criminals,
* Increased property crime,
* Sexual predators,
* 3rd world hygiene practices
and etc.

POLLS SHOW
The LS&D's & Globalists support granting the Illegals amnesty. Plus now we are now seeing trial balloons about granting citizenship & voting rights. Which has been already clearly been attempted in several USA Blue states.

NOW ADD TO THIS
Another poll, this one taken of the Illegals themselves. Shows they would vote for those running the Biden Admin. since they brought them here and fed them, housed them and gave them $$Billions.

Former ICE director vows to make 2024 Elections about border security: 'country-ending crisis'
[FoxNews] BORDER911 hopes to end catch and release and reinstate 'Remain in Mexico'

A former Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is working to make the border crisis the central issue of the 2024 Election, arguing that the current situation at the border is the worst he has ever seen.

"In my nearly 35 years of service under both Democrats and Republicans, I’ve never seen it this bad," Tom Homan, a former police officer and border patrol agent who served as the acting Director of ICE from 2017-2018 under former President Donald Trump, told Fox News Digital. "But fortunately, we know how to fix it. If we can make 2024 the border security election and come together to do some very specific things, we’ll get this border shut down in 120 days."

The comments come as Homan and others have launched BORDERS911, Inc, a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization that is seeking to make the border the defining issue of 2024. At the center of the effort is a pledge, which the organization hopes to get signed by both voters and candidates in order to push for policy commitments such as the end of catch and release, ending asylum fraud, reforming legal immigration procedures, and reinstating Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy.

The new organization is also being lead by Derek Maltz, a former Director of the DEA's Special Operations Division.

Maltz told Fox News Digital, "The Mexican Cartels have formed a strong partnership with Chinese Criminal Networks and are flooding the country with historic amounts of deadly fentanyl. America is now facing the worst drug crisis in our history, and I have never seen so many citizens in my 28-year DEA career dying from these poisonous chemical substances."

The pledge effort comes as border security and immigration issues already promises to be a key concern among voters in the upcoming election, with both Republicans and Democrats attempting to position themselves as better suited to handle the crisis.

According to a report from Politico Wednesday, President Biden is considering several new executive actions and federal regulations designed to stop the flow of migrants at the southern border. The proposals come after a bipartisan border deal failed in the Senate, something the administration and Democrats are looking to point to as voters raise concerns about the situation in the coming months.

But BORDER911, which is also being led by former Texas Department of Public Safety's Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division Capitan Jaeson Jones, investigative journalist Sara Carter, retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney S. Scott., and former U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan, argued the Biden administration shares the bulk of the blame for the current crisis, with the pledge saying that border security has been "systematically dismantled" by the administration and that it has "lost operational control of its border."

Tagadum, SPLM-N forge committee ahead of Hamdok-Hilu talks
[SUDANTRIBUNE] On Saturday, Nur El-Din Babiker, a leading member of the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces “Tagadum” chaired by former Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok announced the formation of a joint committee with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu.

This committee has to agree on a common ground between Tagadum and the SPLA-N before the meeting between the leadership of the two parties in the coming days.

In statements to Sudan Tribune, Babiker confirmed the possibility of bridging the gap between Tagadum and the SPLM-N, despite the movement’s previously expressed reservations.

He further emphasized that the current situation requires all parties to be responsible and make concessions to prevent Sudan’s collapse.

Since January, the Alliance of Civil Forces to Stop the War has invited various Sudanese groups to hold meetings, including the SPLM-N, the Sudanese Communist Party, the Baath Party, and the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Abdel Wahid Nour. These efforts aim to mobilize political support for ending the ongoing war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The SPLM welcomed the proposed meeting for unifying anti-war forces. However, they advocated for forming a joint committee to address other crucial issues before pursuing joint action. They suggested discussions on national identity and voluntary unity, the state-religion relationship, democratic transformation, the government system, economic challenges, historical accountability, and security arrangements.

Babiker who is also the Sudanese Congress Party Spokesman outlined a roadmap for further communication with all political and social entities in Sudan, including the Sudan Liberation Movement (led by Minni Minawi) and the Justice and Equality Movement (led by Gibril Ibrahim). However, communication with Minawi and Jibril will be conditional upon their shifting from supporting the war to rejecting it, as the Taqadum coalition’s position firmly opposes the war and seeks its cessation.

He further stated, “If any political forces or armed movements currently supporting the war are willing to join and denounce it, they are welcome in the Tagadum Alliance.”

The anti-war official acknowledged the unsuccessful attempt to organize a meeting with the Communist Party but emphasized ongoing efforts to hold separate meetings by Tagadum components, considering the party’s reservations towards alliances.

He underscored that the Communist and Baath Parties are not required to be part of the Tagadum Alliance’s leadership or structure. However, he did not rule out future coordination with them regarding positions on rejecting the war, constitution-making, political negotiations, and other future issues in Sudan.

Finally, Babiker stated that Tagadum held intensive meetings with African leaders and international officials during the recent African Union summit in Addis Ababa to call for more pressure on the Sudanese belligerents to end the war and provide humanitarian assistance.

Somalia greenlights defense, economy pact with Türkiye
All very noble and brotherly, but what does Turkey get out of it beyond swanning around as the big patron of a small country?
[ShabelleMedia] In a new step toward enhanced cooperation, Somalia’s Cabinet approved a defense and economic pact with Turkiye.

The two countries already enjoy close ties and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre said the pact was historic.

Ayub Ismail Yusuf, a member of Somalia’s Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, told Daily Sabah that the agreement was "a clear indication of the Somali government and people’s confidence in a better developmental future with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
"In fact, this agreement builds on what’s already happening on the ground with greater multifaceted cooperation between our two sides and a common approach to addressing challenges and capitalizing on opportunities," he said.

The 10-year pact was signed by Somali Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohammed Nur and Defense Minister Yasar Guler during the former’s visit to Turkiye earlier this month.

Barre was quoted by media outlets saying that Somalia thanked Turkiye and its people for their steady support for the government and the people of Somalia. In the signing ceremony in Turkiye, Guler reaffirmed that Somalia was an important partner of Turkiye in Africa.

The agreement includes training and equipment for the Somali Navy to help it protect the African country’s marine resources and threats such as terrorism and piracy. For Somalia, it will pave the way for more efficient use of its potential economy, from fishing to tourism and energy resources.

Turkiye plays an active role in Somalia, from education to finance, through its nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) to companies.

Since President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
visited the country in 2011, Turkiye has built an 80,000-square-meter (861,112-square-foot) embassy in Mogadishu, its biggest embassy in Africa. Humanitarian organizations helped avert a famine in 2022 when Somalia witnessed one of the worst droughts in four decades. A pair of Ottoman Turkish and Somali companies are also building a biogas power plant in Mogadishu to be completed by the end of this year.

What defense pact with Turkey means for Somalia

[Garowe] A historical defense pact was approved by the Somali cabinet on Wednesday, paving the way for a possible revolution within the country's security system, which has been undergoing radical changes and reforms in the recent past.

Somalia largely depends on international partners for regulation of its security and economic progression, as the country hosts over 15,000 foreign security troops. The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has been responsible for security protocols in the country.

But the defense pact signed by Somalia's minister for defense Abdulkadir Mohammed Nur and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
early in February unlocks the country's security protocols including building, training, and equipping the Somali Navy.

For a long time, Turkey has invested in training elite GorGor land troops, who are critical in the fight against al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
. But the country is yet to build Naval forces, that would secure the 3,333 kilometers of coastline. The pact will now unleash this potential as a strategy measure to safeguard the country from sea threats.

The agreement also boosts maritime resources and the blue economy, officials said while reporting the progress with Turkey. In recent weeks, cases of piracy have exponentially risen in the busy coastline, necessitating the deployment of elite naval troops to the region.

Somalia PM Hamza Abdi Barre said the agreement removes "any fears of terrorism, piracy, illegal fishing, toxic dumping and any external violations or threats" to Somalia’s sea. The vices have troubled the country's territorial integrity and progress.

For instance, illegal fishing costs the country millions of dollars in revenues, with efforts to deal with Unregulated Fishing hitting a dead end. There have been deliberate efforts by the government to handle the debacle over decades.

Hamza Abdi Barre described Turkey as a "true and reliable brother." The European nation has immensely invested in Somalia’s security and development agenda, and at times faced backlash from al-Shabaab, who are determined to overthrow the fragile UN-backed federal government.

"When faced with danger, Somalia is not alone and not without a brother," Hamza Abdi Barre said, adding that Turkey's efforts to restore peace and order in the country 'cannot be taken for granted'.

The agreement was signed in Turkey on February 8. It comes amid increasing tension between Somalia and Æthiopia following last month’s signing of an MoU by Æthiopia and Somaliland
...Republic of Somaliland is an unrecognised sovereign state in the Horn of Africa, recognised internationally as a de jure part of Somalia. It is located in the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden with approximately 5.7 million residents as of 2021. The capital and largest city is Hargeisa. The government regards itself as the successor state to British Somaliland, which united from 1960 to 1991 with the Trust Territory of Somaliland (the former Italian Somaliland) to form the Somali Republic. Under the Siad Barre regime, Somaliadestroyed ninety percent of Hargeisa Per international law, once you're in, you gotta stay in, no matter how bad it smells....
, which Somalia condemned as a violation of its illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Last week, Somalia demanded that the African Union and United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
take formal stands over the impasse, adding that it will defend its territorial integrity and illusory sovereignty which is under 'attack' from Æthiopia.

Æthiopia has denounced the plot to 'annex' parts of Somalia, but Mogadishu maintains Addis Ababa has gone 'overboard' by engaging a regional state government. Æthiopia wants to establish a port and naval base within Somaliland, a region within Somalia.

Arabia
Mohammed Abdulsalam: Yemen has every right to defend itself against US and British aggression
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The head of the national negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, said on Sunday that Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
"has every right to respond to the ongoing American-British aggression" against the country.
"Because we said so!"
The continuation of the American and British raids on Yemen are condemned and unacceptable, as they violate the illusory sovereignty of an independent state," Mohammed Abdulslam said in a post on his X account.
The ghost of John Paul Jones just told me he disagrees.
He added, "This aggression comes in the context of futile attempts to prevent Yemen from continuing its supportive stance towards the steadfastness of the Paleostinian people in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Abdulslam affirmed that " Yemen is committed to its humanitarian and religious position alongside Gaza by preventing "Israeli" ships or those heading to the ports of occupied Paleostine."

Horrifying image shows active-duty airman engulfed in flames outside the Israeli embassy in DC after shouting 'Free Palestine' and accusing the US of being 'complicit in genocide' in Gaza
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A serving US Air Force officer is in a critical condition in hospital after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in DC and livestreaming the results.
Unfortunately, not everyone who volunteers to wear the uniform is is wise and insightful. A few are idiots or mentally ill.
Horrifying video was broadcast uploaded to social media channel Twitch on Saturday afternoon after the man dressed in combat fatigues declared 'I will no longer be complicit in genocide'.
Aren’t y’all supposed to avoid wearing the uniform when engaging in politics?
Flames spread over the man's body after he shouted: 'I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest,' before repeatedly shouting 'Free Palestine!'

Authorities responded to the embassy around 1 p.m. on Sunday and found the man with burn injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department told DailyMail.com.

He was taken to the hospital by DC Fire and EMS with 'critical and life-threatening injuries.'

A spokesperson for the US Air Force confirmed to Task & Purpose that the man in uniform is an active-duty airman. The airman’s identity has not been confirmed.
Identified as Aaron Bushnell, 25, USAF active duty in the IT department. Thanks to Frank G and M. Murcek for the links in comments below.

Palestinian prime minister submits government's resignation to President Abbas
[Foxnews] Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said he submitted his government's resignation in writing on Monday.

"I submitted the government’s resignation to President Mahmoud Abbas on February 20, 2024, and today I submit it in writing," Shtayyeh said at a news conference via the Palestinian News & Info Agency.

Abbas must still decide whether to accept Shtayyeh and his government’s resignation, but the move signals a willingness by the Western-backed Palestinian leadership to accept a shake-up that could lead to reforms viewed as necessary to revitalize the Palestinian Authority.

MKs and family members say they received threatening letters from group calling itself the ‘Israeli Revengers’
What odds that this is a project of a troubled teenage boy with extremely poor social skills rather than a couple of overexcited, far-left kibbutzniks, or equally overexcited Israel/Jew haters?
[IsraelTimes] Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana says he has asked the Shin Bet to investigate reports from several members of the government that they or their families have received threatening letters in the mail from an unknown organization calling itself the "Israeli Revengers," in which they are informed that one of their loved ones will be harmed as Dire Revenge for the failures that led to the October 7 Hamas

massacre in southern Israel.

Among those who are said to have received the letter are Likud MK Tali Gotliv, the brother of Likud MK Moshe Saada and the mother of Otzma Yehudit MK Yitzhak Wasserlauf.

On Friday, Gotliv shared an image of the letter she alleged she had received in the mail, writing on X that "if a left-wing person were to receive the letter that was delivered with my private mail, they would have a security guard stationed at their door."

As per images shared on social media of the letters, each one features the Star of David with a fist punching out of the side at the top of the page, with the caption "Jewish Dire Revengers, never forget!" written underneath.

The contents of the letters appear to vary slightly from recipient to recipient but have the same underlying message — a threat to harm a loved one in retaliation for October 7.

"We will locate one of your family members whom we will manage to harm without being discovered," the text of one of the letters shared on social media reads. "We believe that the blame for October 7 largely lies with the coalition of October 6, of whom almost no one was harmed on a personal or familial level by this war. An attack on you is a fair price for each Member of Knesset to personally pay," it expounds.

The anonymous group also claims to have exacted Dire Revenge "against family members of Paleostinian terrorists" for the October 7 terror onslaught, but that it is now ready to advance its plans in the Jewish sector.

IDF: Soldier held captive in Gaza was killed on October 7, body held by Hamas

The Israel Defense Forces announced on Sunday the death of soldier Sgt. Oz Daniel, 19, who was killed and kidnapped by Hamas

border following a battle with bandidos holy warriors during the Hamas onslaught.

Until now, he was listed as one of the 253 hostages kidnapped by the terror group on October 7. Recently, the army’s chief rabbi declared Daniel’s death based on findings and new intelligence information.

While Daniel’s body remains in Gaza, his family can sit shiva, the traditional Jewish week-long mourning period, according to Jewish law, religious authorities said. A funeral was slated to be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the military cemetery in his hometown of Kfar Saba.

It is believed that 130 hostages kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza — not all of them alive — after 105 civilians were released from Hamas captivity during a weeklong truce in late November, and four hostages were released prior to that.

Three hostages have been rescued by troops alive, and the bodies of 11 hostages have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the military.

The IDF has now confirmed the deaths of 31 of those still held by Hamas — including Daniel — citing new intelligence and findings obtained by troops operating in Gaza. One more person is listed as missing since October 7, and her fate is still unknown, though her family believes she was killed.

Hamas is also holding the bodies of fallen IDF soldiers Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin since 2014, as well as two Israeli civilians, Avera Mengistu and Hisham al-Sayed, who are both thought to be alive after entering the Strip of their own accord in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Earlier Sunday, the IDF announced the death of two soldiers killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip over the weekend, bringing the toll of slain troops in the ground offensive against Hamas to 240.

In all, 580 Israeli soldiers and reservists have been killed amid the war, more than half of them during the October 7 onslaught.
Bilha Yinon, a 76-year-old who lived with her husband Yakov in Moshav Netiv Ha’asara, was last heard from at 8 a.m. on October 7.

Her house was burned down by Hamas terrorists who infiltrated the community via paragliders amid their murderous onslaught against southern Israel. She was initially considered dead along with her husband, but a lack of DNA evidence led the IDF to retract that conclusion.

“They still haven’t found her,” the Yinons’ daughter, Maayan, told Channel 12 news in an interview aired Saturday evening. “They can’t conclusively identify. They can’t recover DNA.”

During the October 7 massacre, which saw Hamas terrorists kill some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnap 253, an estimated 35 Hamas operatives entered Netiv Ha’asara — a community that sits 100 meters from the border with Gaza — and killed 22 people.

“Dad sent us a WhatsApp message at 7:30 a.m. that they’re sitting in the safe room, the house is locked, and they’re hearing a lot of shooting and rockets,” Maayan recalled in the interview. “By 7:45 a.m. they were already disconnected and not answering. The house got a direct hit and was on fire within minutes. This was a house built with light materials like plaster and plywood.”

“I said that my parents didn’t survive this event,” the Yinons’ other daughter, Mor, told Channel 12. “By 10 a.m., I wrote my cousins that they should prepare themselves for a very very difficult day.”

The daughters, however, are convinced of their mother’s fate. Between the house being burnt down and conversations with neighbors who saw the terrorists, the family decided to sit shiva – the traditional seven-day mourning period for Jews – without holding a funeral. “Her place is with dad. They left this world together.”

The daughters told Channel 12 that they are not entertaining the possibility that Bilha was taken hostage because no other kidnappings were reported in Netiv Ha’asara on October 7.

“There’s a disagreement between the fire services – who say that the fire was at a very high temperature and that it’s certainly possible that DNA can’t be recovered – and the [forensic scientists] who say that that can’t be, something can always be recovered,” Mor said.

Lt. Col. Dana Nof, an IDF reserve officer responsible for maintaining contact with the Yinon family, is not willing to reach a verdict. “This is a mystery that we’re trying to solve. It’s not a mystery that will just remain a mystery. We’re trying to conclude whether Bilha is alive or not,” she told Channel 12.

Bilha and Yakov requested in their will that their bodies be cremated and spread out over the grounds of Netiv Ha’asara because they did not want their bodies to take up land. The will, however, cannot be executed until the daughters are given a final answer from the government regarding the fate of Bilha.

“A district court appointed me to be the temporary estate manager for my mom,” Mor told Channel 12. “I am conducting transactions in my mom’s bank account on her behalf. These things are a bit absurd and emotionally difficult. It feels like some kind of pretend game to me.”

Maayan told Channel 12 that Bilha was a regular at anti-judicial overhaul protests that occurred throughout 2023 until October 7, and showed a suitcase Bilha would take with her that had “Benjamin Netanyahu, take this and leave” written on it.

Bilha Yinon is currently the only person considered officially “missing” by the State of Israel following the October 7 attack, with an additional 130 people believed to be held hostage in Gaza, including the bodies of 31 people who the IDF has confirmed were killed before or after they were kidnapped.

Netanyahu: Total victory in Gaza will be ‘weeks away’ once Rafah operation launched
[IsraelTimes] PM tells US TV that incursion could be delayed but not canceled if hostage agreement secured; US confirms an ’understanding’ was reached in Gay Paree on ’basic countours’ of deal

An Israeli military operation in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
’s southernmost city of Rafah could be "delayed somewhat" if a deal for a weekslong truce between Israel and Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
is reached, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday, but claimed that total victory in Gaza is "weeks away" once the incursion begins.

Speaking to Margaret Brennan on CBS News’s "Face the Nation," Netanyahu confirmed that a deal is in the works but did not provide details. Israeli media reported that mediators were making progress on an agreement for a temporary ceasefire and the release of dozens of hostages held captive in Gaza as well as Paleostinian security prisoners held by Israel. Several Israeli media outlets, citing unnamed officials, said the war cabinet tacitly approved it.

Talks resumed on Sunday in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
at the specialist level, Egypt’s state-run Al Qahera TV reported, citing an Egyptian official as saying further discussions would follow in Cairo with the aim of achieving the temporary ceasefire and release.

Multiple reports have indicated that the outline includes the release in the first phase of some 40 hostages held in Gaza, including women, children, female soldiers and elderly and ill abductees, amid a pause in fighting of some six weeks.

It also includes the release by Israel of hundreds of Paleostinian terror convicts, and a "redeployment" of Israeli troops within Gaza — but not a complete withdrawal as Hamas had previously demanded. The outline would also reportedly see Israel enable the return of Paleostinian women and kiddies to northern Gaza, from where hundreds of thousands evacuated during the fighting, and which Israel has kept cut off from the rest of the enclave.
We’ll see 1) if that’s what the thing looks like when approved, and 2) if Hamas actually agrees to it this time, and if so, whether they manage to stick to the conditions for the entire six weeks. Also, what is the ratio of Hamas captives to imprisoned terrorists this time?
Sami Abu Zuhri
...a senior spokesman for Hamas. Zuhri gained notoriety in 2006 when he dropped his money belt containing somewhere between 640,000 and 900,000 euros, which was confiscated by Paleostinian security and customs officials at a routine border crossing from Egypt to Gaza. The news brought competing Hamas and Fatah forces to the crossing checkpoint for an epic face-making and hollering contest...
, a senior Hamas official, responded to Netanyahu’s comments, saying that they cast doubt over Israel’s willingness to secure a hostage deal.

"Netanyahu’s comments show he is not concerned about reaching an agreement," Abu Zuhri told Rooters, accusing the Israeli leader of wanting "to pursue negotiation under bombardment and the bloodshed" of Paleostinians in Gaza.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, the gondola was dangling by a single thread of rope.

Jack! Cynthia cried. I just realized I'm afraid of heights! I don't even like high heels!...

Israel is developing plans for expanding its offensive against the Hamas terror group to Rafah on the Gaza-Egypt border, where more than half the territory’s population of 2.3 million have sought refuge. Humanitarian groups warn of a catastrophe, with Rafah the main entry point for aid, and the US and other allies have said Israel must avoid harming civilians. Israel’s political and military leaders have said the operation will not begin until the safety of non-combatants has been ensured.

Netanyahu has said he will convene the cabinet this week to approve operational plans for action in Rafah, including the evacuation of civilians.

"Once we begin the Rafah operation, the intense phase of the fighting is weeks away from completion. Not months," Netanyahu told CBS. "If we don’t have a deal, we’ll do it anyway. It has to be done because total victory is our goal and total victory is within reach."

He said that four of the six remaining Hamas battalions are concentrated in Rafah.

US CONFIRMS PARIS TALKS FORMULATED ’BASIC CONTOURS’ OF HOSTAGE DEAL
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told NBC Sunday morning that President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass....
hadn’t been briefed on the Rafah plan and said, "We believe that this operation should not go forward until or unless we see [a plan to protect civilians]."

Sullivan also confirmed to CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
on Sunday that representatives from Israel, the US, Egypt and Qatar who met in Gay Paree late last week "came to an understanding among the four of them about what the basic contours of a hostage deal for a temporary ceasefire would look like."

Sullivan said that any such deal "is still under negotiation in terms of hammering out the details of it. There will have to be indirect discussions by Qatar and Egypt with Hamas because ultimately they will have to agree to release the hostages," he added. "That work is underway. And we hope that in the coming days, we can drive to a point where there is actually a firm and final agreement on this issue."

Speaking to CBS, Netanyahu was asked about "growing distrust of you personally" by Congress and the Biden White House. "When you’re closest ally is telling you things like this and telling you you need to reconsider a strategy, isn’t it worth considering?" Brennan queried the prime minister.

Netanyahu eventually responded to the remark: "Well, first of all, you say there’s no confidence in me, well the Israeli public has confidence in me." The prime minister’s approval ratings, however, have plummeted since October 7 and almost all polls show that he would not be able to form a coalition were early elections to be held.

On the differences over strategy between the US and Israel, the prime minister said that he thinks "the US agrees with us on the goal of destroying Hamas and the goal of releasing the hostages. The decisions on how to do that are left with us, and with me, and with the elected cabinet of Israel.

"A lot of things that we were told by the best of friends initially turned out to not be true," Netanyahu continued. "They said ’you can’t enter the ground war without having enormous complications,’ they said ’you can’t enter Gaza City, you can’t go into the tunnels, it will be a terrible bloodbath.’ All that turned out to be not true," he said.

"Our soldiers are in the tunnel network. We don’t have to take apart hundreds of kilometers of tunnels. We are taking apart the missile production factories that are underground, the command and control headquarters, the computers that are there, the money that is there, the weapons that are there, and the ammo that is there. We’re doing that methodically," he continued.
Good to know. Carry on.
"You can’t substitute for the Israeli military command, and we’re doing it very responsibly. John Spencer, who’s the head of urban warfare [at the Modern War Institute], says that no other army has gone to the lengths that Israel’s army has gone to clear civilians out of harm’s way even though Hamas is doing everything to keep them in harm’s way," Netanyahu added.

US, Israel, Egypt and Qatar have agreed on 'basic contours' of hostage deal
[GEO.TV] The United States, Egypt, Qatar and Israel have come to an understanding of the "basic contours" of a hostage deal for a temporary ceasefire in Gaza, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on CNN on Sunday.

The deal is still under negotiation, said Sullivan, who added there will have to be indirect discussions by Qatar and Egypt with Hamas.
That’s nice. And when Hamas refuses the opportunity for peace yet again, or signs off and then breaks it within days, we will all totally not be surprised, mkay?
The Times of Israel adds:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is demanding that any high-level Palestinian security prisoners released in a potential deal with Hamas be deported to Qatar as a condition of their release, Channel 12 reports.

According to the report, Netanyahu raised the demand during discussions by the war cabinet last night when Israel’s delegation to the Paris summit on a hostage-truce deal briefed ministers on their progress.

In addition, Ynet reports that Netanyahu also said in last night’s telephone consultations that he was not prepared to advance on the parameters of a deal until Israel receives a list specifying which of the 130 hostages held in Gaza since October are still alive.
Dead hostages are worth less in trade errr… ransom. Everybody knows that!
According to an anonymous official, the other members of the war cabinet, including observers Aryeh Deri and Ron Dermer, support the current outline for the hostage deal, leaving Netanyahu alone in his purported objections to it.
But he is the only one who is the prime minister. The rest are just cabinet members, serving at his pleasure. Like in all parliamentary democracies, he can simply send them back to the Knesset to be ordinary MKs.

IAF establishes new department to combat the growing threat of Iran
[Jpost] The Israel Air Force under commander Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar has officially established an Iran department in response to Tehran's growing threat against Israel. This department will handle all military preparations for potential future attacks by Iran, and is mainly set to combat the Iranian nuclear program.

The decision to establish an Iran department has been in the works for a long time, but it only recently received official recognition in an IDF announcement.

Official sources within the security establishment stated that this move intends to signal a warning not only to Iran, but also to the United States, which has been criticized by some for its poorer handling of the Iranian nuclear program, as well as the funding of Iran's terrorist influence in the Middle East.
