China-Japan-Koreas
China’s Eyes in the Skies
The recent deployment of China's first four indigenous KJ-2000 AWACS aircraft marks an important milestone in the PLA Air Force’s long march from being a ‘numbers intensive’ low technology force, to a much more modern high technology one.

More fundamentally, though, the AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) extends China's deep and broad network of air defence Command Control Communications Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C3ISR) systems into a key airborne area. In doing so, China is now acquiring the radar and passive early warning and air defence command, control and communications it needs to counter foreign fighters and cruise missiles.

Yet despite the fact that this system employs radar technology two generations ahead of that used by the US Air Force’s E-3C AWACS—generally seen as a benchmark by the rest of the world—the deployment of China’s new aircraft elicited almost no response from Washington.

Enough
The contempt for ordinary Americans displayed by the ruling class is reaching critical mass. There may never have been a time in American history when the governing, academic, cultural, and media elites have been more manifestly disdainful of the country's values, traditions, principles, and people.

Individuals who express sincere concerns that the polices and practices of the elites are imperiling the nation's economy and security are branded as racists and xenophobes by the anointed: A diminutive mayor who appears to conflate a talent for acquiring wealth with omniscience lectures that anyone who opposes the erection of a mosque on the site where 2,700 Americans were slaughtered by radical-Islamic terrorists must be motivated by religious intolerance; tea-party activists who protest the federal government's insane spending spree are motivated not by horror at a $13,300,000,000,000 debt but by racial animus toward the chief fiscal incontinent residing in the White House; those who voted to maintain the central institution of civilization were actually voting for bigotry and oppression.

The same elites who lecture incessantly refuse to listen to the racist rabble populating flyover country. They have no problem listening, apologizing, and bowing obsequiously to our declared enemies, but insist on acting imperiously toward their fellow Americans...
He's just getting warmed up. Read the whole thing...

July highest all-time for background checks on firearm sales
Unadjusted data released by the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) reported 1,069,792 checks in July 2010, ranking the month the highest July for most NICS checks. This figure represents an increase of 10.7 percent over checks in July 2009. The total number of background checks reported since the beginning of NICS is 118,006,677. (FBI NICS disclaimer: These figures indicate the number of background checks requested. They do not indicate firearm transfers.)

As NICS can be used for a variety of purposes such as state permit checks on CCW databases and applications, NSSF has created an adjusted monthly NICS figure by subtracting out the "permit" column on the monthly NICS purpose code reports. The July 2010 adjusted NICS figure of 628,125 is an increase of 4.3 percent over the adjusted figure of 602,353 in July 2009. As more states use NICS to check new CCW applicants and their active CCW databases, NSSF feels by subtracting the NICS checks used for "permit" checks, it will give a more accurate and reliable indicator of current market conditions.

#5  I load my own, got all the equipment, lead bricks, Molds powders and primers I will ever need (At least for the forseeable future) NOT reloading for other folks, just me and my family.
(It's illegal to send reloads thru the mail anyway.)

some years ago the government was trying to put serial numbers on each cartridge shell, I accumulated reloading equipment Buller Molds powders and primers for all calibers I thought practical, no.25 no.50 but everything in between.
Since then the measure was defeated as Against the "You shall NOT provision of freedom to Bear arms and while that particular measure was defeated, I feel safer being able to arm my family in a crisis, so I still have all the components necessary, and reload as needed.

No ammo shortage for me and Mine.
While we are able, we buy ammo, but should the need arise I'm prepared, I highly recommend that you do Likewise.
