Iceland declares state of emergency as thousands are told to evacuate over volcanic eruption fears after series of earthquakes
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Around 4,000 people have been evacuated overnight from an Icelandic town after hundreds of tremors were felt from a volcanic eruption, as the nation declares a state of emergency.

Iceland declared a state of emergency on Friday after a series of powerful earthquakes rocked the country's southwestern Reykjanes peninsula, in what could be a precursor to a volcanic eruption near Sundhnjukagigar, some 1.86 miles north of the town of Grindavik.

The town, which is around 25 miles southwest of Reykjavik, is located near the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa resort, a popular tourist destination which closed temporarily earlier this week as a precaution.

Nearly 800 quakes were recorded between midnight and 2pm on Friday with the shallowest depth at between 1.86 to 2.18miles, the Icelandic Meteorological Office said.

Senior Ukrainian official coordinated Nord Stream pipeline attack: report
[FoxNews] The report alleges that Roman Chervinsky and a 6-person team orchestrated the explosion.

A former senior Ukrainian official was the coordinator of the explosions that ruptured the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipelines, the Washington Post reported, citing Ukrainian officials and European sources, and in conjunction with German periodical Der Spiegel.

Roman Chervinsky, a former commander of one of the Ukrainian special forces units, was the "coordinator of the Nord Stream operation" and managed a six-person team that carried out the devastating multibillion-dollar infrastructure attack in September 2022, according to the report.

The outlet said Chervinsky and the group of six people rented a sailboat under false identities and used deep-sea diving equipment to place explosive charges on the gas pipelines.

Chervinsky did not act alone and did not plan the operation, but was obeying the orders of high-ranking officers who ultimately answered to Ukraine’s highest-ranking military officer, Valery Zaluzhny, the Post said, citing people familiar with his role.
Why would such orders be given?
Chervinsky, in a written statement to the Washington Post, denied his involvement in the Nord Streams sabotage.

"All speculations about my involvement in the attack on Nord Stream are being spread by Russian propaganda without any basis," Chervinsky said.

Since the Sept. 26, 2022, explosion, rumors have swirled around who was responsible for the sabotage of the Nord Streams — with people quick to point fingers to Washington, Kyiv or Moscow.

In February, Seymour Hersh,
...often wrong, always certain — he’s been trying to recapture the feeling since his first big story broke. And he hates America, so that’s a plus for his followers...
a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, alleged that U.S. Navy divers laid bombs that destroyed the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under a direct order from President Joe Biden.

National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson John Kirby repeatedly denied the United States was involved in the explosions following Hersh's reporting.

"It’s a completely false story. There is no truth to it, Shannon," Kirby told host Shannon Bream, on "Fox News Sunday" in February. "Not a shred of it. It is not true. The United States, and no proxies of the United States, had anything to do with that, nothing."

The White House, the CIA and the NSC all said that Hersh's report was "utterly false and complete fiction."

#8  Rented a sailboat did they? And navigated all by themselves to a spot right above the pipeline without any help at all from the US Navy or the CIA. Sure I believe that.
Posted by: Thrineth Shuger1620 || 11/12/2023 12:16 Comments || Top||

#9  ^ It gets better. The pipeline is at a depth of roughly 100 meters. Sport divers max out around 30 meters. Below that, you need special gas mixtures and decompression equipment depending on how deep and how long.
Sure, it may have been some guys and a boat, but they had interesting friends.

#10  I just checked a map to make sure, Ukraine has no access to the Baltic Sea. That means these intrepid sailors must have traveled to another country that does have a Baltic port to rent this sailboat, either that or they sailed all the way from the Black Sea to the Baltic. That must have been quite a voyage, totally doable but it would take weeks or even months, six guys sharing space on a little sailboat with all that high tech diving gear.

But if they traveled to, say, Germany or Poland or Lithuania they would have had to smuggle whatever explosive charge they used across international borders. Inquiring minds want to know, how did they get away with that?

And, even though we know that US Navy ships were in the vicinity at the time, the Ukrainians are quite certain pulled this caper all by themselves?

Luxury EV Manufacturer Loses $227,000 On Each Car It Sells
[Daily Caller] A manufacturer of luxury electric vehicles (EVs) lost more than $227,000 on each car it sold in the third quarter.

Lucid Motors, headquartered in California, sells four EV models, ranging in price from $74,900 to $249,000, according to its website. The company reported a net loss of $630.9 million in the third quarter, excluding its overhead costs, which comes out to a loss of more than $227,000 on each car it sold, according to its financial filings and The Wall Street Journal’s calculations.

The company soared to a $91 billion valuation in November 2021, despite only ever having sold 125 vehicles at the time, according to the WSJ. Since then, the company has seen its share price fall by about 93%. (RELATED: Top EPA Official Pushing EVs Can’t Say How Much Electricity America Uses In A Year)

#3  Saudi Arabia's bet on Lucid Motors, an EV startup widely viewed as a competitor to Tesla, has yet to show a big payoff.
Shortly after the electric motor company went public in 2021, the Saudi's 60% ownership stake in Lucid through the Public Investment Fund (PIF) was valued at more than $55 billion, Bloomberg's opinion columnist Chris Bryant wrote.
According to Bryant's report, that stake is now worth $5.4 billion — about a 90.2% decrease.
The steep drop in the value of Saudi's stake coincides with Lucid's latest quarterly earnings.
This week, the company reported a $630.9 million net loss while showing a -207.74% gross margin. That margin means the cost of making Lucid's luxury electric vehicles exceeds the number of cars the company sells.

Home Front: WoT
Read this and ask yourself: Who won? Osama bin Laden or the US federal government?
I refuse to surrender, lest the whole world be like the south of Israel on October 7th. The writer, unfortunately, offers no better ideas for how to destroy militant Islam, nor any inkling that this is a war that’s been going on since the seventh century AD. He is, according to the author blurb, a third year university student, and it shows.
[InternationalAffairs] In his media appearances and addresses throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Bin Laden carefully laid out the strategy by which he would antagonise and provoke the West, through the use of escalating terrorist attacks, into "bleeding wars." It was by these wars that Bin Laden stated that he would exhaust and bankrupt the United States and its Western allies. With the United States and the rest of the West demoralised and exhausted by a global Islamist insurgency, Bin Laden believed that Al Qaeda would then be able to topple Western-friendly regimes across the Middle East, and purge all defiling Western influence from the Land of the two Holy Places.

The key to understanding Bin Laden’s use of terrorism is that he never saw terror as the end goal, nor did he believe that the West would be defeated by terrorism. Rather, Bin Laden saw terrorism as a means to provoke the West into retaliating and attacking the Muslim nations which were perceived as safe havens of terrorists. Once engaged in these armed conflicts, Bin Laden predicted that the mounting costs and dead soldiers would be unpalatable for the Western public, and that the West will have turned the majority of Muslims worldwide against it by waging bloody wars of attrition in Muslim nations. These factors would then combine to force the West into humiliating withdrawals.

Bin Laden’s objective was to either cause the West to collapse, or to be too exhausted and war weary to fight on. In the latter, he has succeeded. The United States was so determined not to be fighting on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 that Afghanistan was effectively abandoned to the Taliban. For the United States alone, the War on Terror is conservatively projected to cost, in the form of two wars, increased security costs, and future veterans care, at least $8 trillion. Added to this total are at least 800,000 who have died as a direct consequence of the violence of the War on Terror. Of those many deaths, thousands were Western troops, though the majority of those killed were local civilians caught in the crossfire.

There have been many alternative proposals as to how the last twenty years since 9/11 could have gone, though it is clear that there has been no strategic framework guiding the actions of the West to prevent mission creep expanding what had been an act of retaliation into a many-fronted war. Due to this lack of guidance, the West fell right into the trap which Bin Laden clearly and publicly laid.

#6  If you look at the Middle East before Biden it was clear the West won. The Abraham accords had the Arabs behaving and even forming alliances with Israel. I don't know if this is a new war or another front in the long war but we were definately winning until Biden pissed it all away.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel will only be stopped by a pan-Islamic ultimatum to the West
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Petr Akopov
No, it won’t be stopped by that, either. They’ve learnt the hard way that no sacrifice is great enough to appease those who don’t want them to exist. Not that there would be a pan-Islamic ultimatum — too many of Islamic nations want an open or quiet Abraham Agreement for themselves. So instead of looking like an idiot, Mr. Akopov, sit down quietly and shut up.
[RIA] This weekend, two emergency international summits will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Because the massacre in Gaza, which has been going on for two months now, has become not only a regional, but also a global crisis, both with a constant danger of escalation and with almost guaranteed dire consequences. After all, we are talking not just about another bloodbath in the Middle East, but about a growing conflict between the Western and Islamic worlds. The “golden billion” and the two billion Muslim Ummah: three and a half dozen states on the one hand and fifty-five on the other?

Yes, but at the same time, the conflict of the West with Islam is also included in the broader conflict of the West with the Global South (representing the majority of humanity), as well as in the conflict of the West with the non-Western world (this is the South plus China and Russia). The Palestinian issue has divided the world for three quarters of a century, but only now has it become such a clear symbol of the separation between the West and the rest of humanity because it has exposed the bankruptcy of the entire model of Atlantic hegemony.

And got the sh*t beaten out of them. The last time, 1973, it took UN, USA, and USSR (remember USSR, pisdenish) cooperation to stop Israel from exterminating Egyptian militarry and occupying Cairo.
