Its not impossible. Print more money to devalue the debt. But remember the cost (Wiemar Republic Germany or Zimbabwe). I lived through double digit inflation and double digit unemployment under Jimmy Carter. There's a whole generation and then some that have not one clue about the reality of what they are facing when this is resolved.

Politically it is impossible; financially it is not. Just stop spending money on stuff that is not needed. Deregulate and Allow the economy to grow without an open gate border.
Cap the federal GIVERnment at 8% of GDP and revenue at 9%.

National Debt Clock. Although interesting, this clock doesn't show the long-term debt obligations. Paying for wars is not such a big item as are the social programs. Gets back to Romney's claim about the 47%.
