The NYPD is warning police officers about a possible threat from the MS-13 gang, particularly when they are off-duty.
CBS2’s Dick Brennan reports that in a bulletin the NYPD put out this alert: "Members of MS-13 are looking to ’hit’ NYPD police officers, specifically in the Brentwood/Central Islip area as well as possibly Patchogue."
The bulletin says that the gang members would carry out the attacks on off-duty officers "in order to gain street credibility."
While the threat has not been substantiated, law enforcement experts say this cannot be taken lightly.
"Whenever a law enforcement officer is being threatened, especially by an organization like MS-13 which we already know is uber violent and has killed numerous people throughout the country if not throughout the world, this has to be taken serious," said former FBI agent Manny Gomez.
The gang’s reign of terror has spread widely, particularly in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties and includes murder, drugs, child prostitution and racketeering.
The bulletin suggests the gang may be looking to target police officers off-duty near their homes, warning that "these members are conducting reconnaissance of MOS private residences"
"They are going above and beyond what any other gang does, and the scary part is that we already know that they legitimately carry out their threats and they are extremely violent," said Gomez.
Police are warning law enforcement to take extra precautions and not to let their guard down particularly when they are in and around their homes and off duty.
They say that includes changing routines whenever possible.

As Asia’s most acrimonious rivals face off, the fate of a captured Indian Air Force pilot may hold the key to whether -- and how -- each side is able to step back from broader conflict.
India and Pakistan, which have fought three major wars since the bloody partition of 1947, regularly exchange artillery and small-weapons fire across a disputed border. But the situation that flared up earlier this month escalated dramatically into Wednesday, with the loss of an Indian MiG 21 fighter jet and the pilot later paraded on Pakistani television.
While the U.S., Russia and China are all calling for calm, domestic political pressures make it far from easy for either side in the conflict to back down. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi must contest a general election within weeks, while his counterpart, Imran Khan, faces a military that is seeking to assert its dominance when Pakistan is in the eye of a financial and economic storm.
The full political fallout of the exchanges remains unclear, but it’s evident that the capture of a pilot “complicates matters and will heighten tensions,” said Sandeep Shastri, a political scientist and Pro Vice Chancellor at Jain University in Bangalore.
Still, in an address to the nation, Khan called for India-Pakistan talks to resolve the situation, saying that “better sense should prevail.” A Pakistani official in Washington said his country wants peace and dialogue with India to avoid escalation and confrontation, but he said India must help resolve the underlying conflict over Kashmir.
That may in part reflect Pakistan’s greater exposure to the financial and economic fallout. Pakistan’s benchmark stock index plunged as much as 3.8 percent in Karachi, while India’s S&P BSE Sensex was down a mere 0.2 percent in Mumbai after gaining earlier in the day.
Any sense of optimism in New Delhi at Khan’s conciliatory stance was undermined by the appearance shortly later of the downed Indian pilot on television, thanking the Pakistani Army for rescuing him from a mob. India’s Foreign Ministry promptly objected to “Pakistan’s vulgar display” of air force personnel “in violation of all norms of International Humanitarian Law and the Geneva Convention.” It demanded the “immediate and safe return” of the pilot.
The Pakistani official in Washington, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the pilot in custody is being treated well and isn’t under duress. Modi, who must contest a general election within weeks, is drawing political capital by using Pakistan as a punching bag, the official said.

I'm sure the people like myself that have family in New Delhi and other parts of India would object. You know, it would have been helpful if the US hadn't cozied up to the Paki's all these decades.
I agree that a nuclear exchange would not be good in anyway. But re the US cozieing up to the Paks can we please not lose the history of the era, and the USSR cozying up to India and everyone else?
All to often things that the US did historically are not put in the context of the Cold War. That was a very screwed up time all the way around.

If the Paks are saying better sense should prevail I take that as meaning that, despite the captured Indian pilot, Paks got their butts kicked by the Indian air strikes. It doesn't mean they'll stop sending terrorist across the LoC and won't need any future butt kicking.

[Vanity Fair] Stormy Daniels, the porn star who allegedly had an affair with president Donald Trump, has said she is "proud" of former Trump fixer Michael Cohen for his testimony before Congress on Wednesday. Daniels has been at the center of the campaign-finance scandal that has, in part, landed Cohen in jail, and threatens to impact the president.
During his hours-long testimony, Cohen admitted to paying Daniels $130,000 for her silence in the weeks before the election. He claimed he did so at the president’s behest, and he said that the president repaid him in installments. Cohen had spoken about being directed to pay the hush money before in court documents, but always referred to his benefactor as "Individual 1." On Wednesday, he clarified to Congress in his opening statements that "Individual 1" is President Trump. (Trump has previously denied the affair and the payments.)

[Huffpoo] WASHINGTON ― With Democrats back in control, the House passed the most significant piece of gun control legislation in more than two decades Wednesday.
By a vote of 240-190, the House approved a bill that would require background checks on all gun sales in the United States. Currently, only licensed firearm dealers have to perform background checks, and unlicensed dealers ― such as those at gun shows ― can sell a gun without going through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
Eight Republicans joined all but two Democrats in support of the bill, and the measure will now go to the Senate, where it faces an uncertain future. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has not committed to bringing the bill up for a vote, and it likely doesn’t have the 60 senators it needs to make it to a final vote.
But the bill passing the House Wednesday marks a significant turn in its own right. The last gun control measure to pass the House was in 1994, the sweeping Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act that banned a number of semi-automatic weapons. And though Democrats have repeatedly tried to pass other gun control measures when Republicans controlled the House ― Democrats actually first introduced the legislation as a response to an attack on former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) ― they were unable to get up-or-down votes on a bill in recent years.

Video uploaded to social media seems to show a male passenger in a vehicle putting a white cup to his groin under his pants.
"This is what you get when you give an 89-cents tip for an almost 30-minute drive," says a woman from off-screen.
"Oh! It feels good on my balls," says the man. You can see the footage above.
Police said that guy is Webb. The investigation is ongoing.
The defendant’s attorney of record did not immediately respond to a Law&Crime request for comment. He faces a count of adulteration of food, liquids, or pharmaceuticals. A preliminary hearing on Tuesday was rescheduled for March 12. No charges were announced against the driver.
Local woman April M. Pennington told the Times that she saw the footage through a Facebook group chat, reported it to the driver’s employer Dinner Delivered, and that she posted it last Thursday because the company didn’t seem to be doing anything about it.
Dinner Delivered general manager Aliyah Wilson said the driver will no longer work for them. She also said Webb was not connected to the company. Wilson said the company was able to track down the video due to the 89-cent tip remark.

My neighbors get almost everything delivered. Often, if the delivery people come to my door by mistake, they act like complete assh*les when told politely that they are at the wrong address. I guess doing gig economy deliveries attracts a certain type.

I read the “no longer work for them” as informing GrubHub or whatever delivery service Mr. Webb’s friend is contracted with that he’s been blackballed. (Yes, I know: to my room) And the other part confirms that the restaurant never had the friend on the payroll — though his misjudgement was allowing his stupid friend, Mr, Webb, to be in the car when he was working.

Thing is a lot of companies have invested a lot of money in women's sports, especially equipment and apparel - I just watched a big name commercial with a bunch of girls whining to me that they too can play sports. Basketball, golf, tennis, meter ball have been pushing hard for a long time.
Strangely the battlefield will be women's power lifting. If women's sports loses that one it only a matter of time before all women sports get corrupted.
Back to the commercial, one of the sales points was about how nobody ever thought a woman could dunk the basketball, but that happened. Where I was 'yeah, one gal. And while we have in this world wealth and abundance like no time in history, there is one thing we have less of: responsibility. Apparently, kids require that, and it sounds awful.

Some personal observations:
I see a lot of vegetarian dishes trying to disguise themselves as meat, such as tofu 'burgers'. I don't see many meat dishes disguising themselves as vegetarian, such as pulled pork 'pasta'.
Vegetarian evangelicals don't seem to be having much fun; its always 'beans really do have enough protein to live on', 'kale tastes good really'. Carnivore evangelicals have the BBQ song from yesterday. I don't think a single band member was concerned that a stomach settler sponsored the video.
In the land where meat is a luxury, the person who brought the bags of beef jerky is lord.
There are good reasons to have a low meat, even no meat diet. Absolutely there are people who use that lifestyle as leverage in social situations, known them, depression would be a mild way to put it. Maybe not sociopaths. Maybe. I've seen vegetarians invited to the omnivore's table, and demand vegetarian dishes. I've seen omnivore invited to the vegetarian's table, and the vegetarian spent the meal trying to convince the others that the pressed and textured tofu was really chicken. It was some real 2+2=5 crap.

While I agree 98% I've had a number of Indian dishes where I wonder why they bothered to add chicken because you simply couldn't taste it with the saunces and such.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) has been trouble since the day she took office ‐ she infamously screeched, "We're gonna impeach the motherf**er" hours after she was sworn in as a member of Congress, vowing to take down President Trump. Tlaib shows no signs of taking her foot off the gas.
During today's House Oversight Committee's interrogation of former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, Tlaib suggested that Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) is a racist for bringing a black "prop" to the hearing:
"Just to make a note, Mr. Chairman, just because someone has a person of color, a black person working for them does not mean they aren’t racist," Tlaib said. "It is insensitive ‐ some would even say it’s the fact that someone would actually use a prop, a black woman, in this chamber, in this committee, is alone racist in itself."

Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., has been deployed to the southern border as a member of the Air National Guard four times now, and says he's never seen more drug smuggling and human trafficking than he did on his most recent deployment this month. "There were a lot more drugs. You’d see people drop bundles," the Illinois Republican told the Washington Examiner. Kinzinger, a lieutenant colonel with the Wisconsin National Guard, said even though large groups of families and children have been arriving in recent months, he observed more people who were trying to avoid detection.
He explained to the Washington Examiner why he wrote in a Facebook post this week that he has never seen anything "this bad" at the border in the past.
"What I saw was a lot more evidence of human trafficking," he said. "I saw a lot more people run than I’ve ever seen, which is interesting. Two out of five times when Border Patrol comes up on a group, they surrender. Three out of five, they do what you call a bomb burst."

"Leader McConnell," he said, "do you believe that climate change, global warming, is real? Yes or no? Second, do you believe that climate change, global warming, is caused by humans? And three, do you believe that Congress should take immediate action to deal with the problem?"
That much makes sense. But Schumer then accused McConnell of playing "games" by bringing a Democratic-backed resolution to the floor.
"This is not a debate," he said. "It's a diversion. It's a sham."

[Breitbart] Eighty-eight percent of likely Republican voters polled in late February saw President Donald Trump as the likely Republican nominee in 2020.
One thousand likely Republican voters were polled from February 25-26 in the Rasmussen survey. Of those polled, 88 percent saw president Trump as the likely 2020 Republican nominee. Among those surveyed, 70 percent saw Trump’s nomination as "very likely."
Respondents were asked two questions in the poll conducted by Pulse Opinion Research for Rasmussen. The first question was, "How likely is it that President Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee in 2020?" The second question was, "During his first two years in office, has President Trump done a good job representing Republican values? Or has he lost touch with Republican voters throughout the nation?"
[The Hill] The schedule for President Trump and Kim Jong Un’s second day of meetings in Hanoi, Vietnam was abruptly changed Thursday.
Trump left the Metropole Hotel, where the summit took place, before 1:30 p.m. Vietnam time, or 1:30 a.m. Washington time -- more than an hour before originally scheduled.
About 45 minutes before Trump left, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters in Vietnam that talks would wrap up earlier than expected.

Trump has been lowering expectations for the results of the summit even as he has touted his "very special relationship" with Kim. Trump has said repeatedly he is in "no rush" to get a denuclearization deal as long as North Korea refrains from nuclear and missile tests, saying at the top of the meetings Thursday that "speed is not important."

Donald Trump's talks with Kim Jong-un ended abruptly on Thursday as the president said he was forced to walk away after the North Korean dictator demanded that all sanctions be lifted in return for giving up only some of his nukes.
Trump said the final snag that caused the sudden breakdown was over sanctions – and Kim's push to have all of them lifted in exchange for a concession Trump and his secretary of state could not live with.
'Sometimes you have to walk away,' Trump told reporters at a press conference in Hanoi that was abruptly moved up after a breakdown in talks.
The president expressed his hope that the two leaders would meet again, but acknowledged: 'It might be soon, it might not be for a long time. I can’t tell you.'

Navarone (Nava in Hebrew) Jacobs posted on her Facebook page that she was sexually harassed by Gantz when she was 14 and they were studying at Hakfar Hayarok boarding school in central Israel. At the time, Jacobs was a freshman and Gantz was a senior.
Channel 13 was the first news outlet to publicize the allegations.

[Jerusalem Post] The IDF has released a document detailing the year-long Great March of Return protests along the Gaza border, including new details that have not been previously released.
The Great March of Return protests began on March 30th and has seen thousands of Gazans violently demonstrating along the security fence with Israel, demanding an end to the 12-year long blockade.
According to the military, over a half million people have attended the protests since they began, with the number of Palestinians congregating at points along the border between several thousand to 45,000 each day. The rioters are provided with electricity, free wireless Internet and network connections, as well as food and drink by Hamas.
During the violent protests, Gazans have been burning tires and hurling stones and marbles as well as throwing of grenades and improvised explosive devices (including military-grade explosives) toward IDF troops. Ball bearings and other projectiles have also been hurled by protesters, often by using high-velocity slingshots.
In addition, mines and booby-trapped explosive devices with delayed detonation devices are also laid along the fence during the riots under the cover of smoke and crowds and "pose a direct threat to the lives and safety of IDF forces operating in the border area," the military said.
According to the military, "drones used by the IDF to deliver tear gas have been felled by using electronic jamming as well as by shooting them down from the sky."
[CBS] When the FBI showed up at Don Miller's home in rural Indiana in 2014 to seize part of his vast personal collection of artifacts, it was a shock for people who knew him.
"He was very beloved. He was very charismatic," former local reporter Liz Dykes said. Dykes interviewed the 90-year-old former engineer about his time in World War II, his missionary work in Haiti, and most of all, his huge collection of artifacts from around the world.
"The entire house is a museum. There are things everywhere," Dykes recounted. "It was just mind-blowing."
Miller willingly showed his collection to reporters, residents, and even local Boy Scout troops, so when the FBI came calling, she said, "I wanted to know what they were looking for... There had to have been something."

He’s overstating that; it’s not like Trump will deploy the military if he loses. But there’s literally no scenario in which he’ll graciously accept defeat, even if he loses by 10 million votes. Some sort of fraud and chicanery will be alleged to explain it. "That’s what they did to me with the Russia probe," he’ll say of Democrats’ reaction to his victory over Hillary in 2016. Where things go from there, God only knows. Hopefully they won’t get too hairy.

[The Federalist] So I was going to have a little fun at the expense of CNN this morning, contrasting the news site’s headline for the Democrats’ gun restriction bill‐"House to vote on guns background check bill with bipartisan support"‐which has garnered exactly four Republican co-sponsors, with its headline for the Sen. Ben Sasse’s anti-infanticide bill, which I was certain would be solely about the "GOP" despite having four Democrat Senators voting to move the bill forward. Turns out, it was even better.
There was nothing to contrast because, as far as I can tell, CNN doesn’t feature a single story on their website regarding the Democratic Party blocking of Sasse’s Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would have saved newborn babies who survive abortion attempts from negligent homicide.
CNN didn’t even bother producing one of those predictably prejudiced pieces, like the ones we saw in Politico or the Washington Post yesterday, mischaracterizing Sasse’s bill as "anti-abortion." They didn’t bother with the "conservatives pounce!" stories like the Daily Beast or Vox. They didn’t bother, like so many others, to distract from the number of viable babies being aborted by stressing only 1.5 percent of the procedures are in post-20 weeks, rather than pointing out there are somewhere around 15,000 to 18,000 aborted every year. They just ignored it.
CNN features a long string of stories about Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen on the site‐surely, legitimate news‐but not one about a highly unpopular policy position that is supported by every Democratic Party presidential hopeful in the Senate. This issue that dominated the political discussions of around half the country yesterday was not worth a single piece from this unbiased, undeterred, truth seeking, information-gathering operation. I wonder why that is?

[American Thinker] When most Americans think of lynching, they summon images of the horrific murders of American blacks, particularly in the years of the Jim Crow South. To describe such murders as "bias-motivated acts of terror," as Cory Booker has, would certainly be accurate. "This bill," Booker says, "will not undo the damage," but it "will acknowledge the wrongs in our history. It will honor the memories of those brutally killed."
So, when Senate Democrats offered their proposed new law, the Justice for Victims of Lynching Act of 2018, I had assumed that it would be a symbolic congressional action to recognize these injustices that took place and to honor the victims. Considering that the act passed the Senate unanimously, that's likely what most senators also believed.
But that's not what the act is, and that's certainly not its intent. The real purpose of the act appears to be the legal redefining of the word "lynching" to include a include a much broader scope of lesser crimes, and to grow the federal government's power to prosecute these lesser crimes that it includes in its new definition.
Lynching is not a problem in the United States anymore, and the language of the act affirms that fact unequivocally. The act cites that at least "4,742 people, predominantly black African-Americans, were reported lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968."

[DAWN] MUZFFARGARH: A student of a religious seminary was allegedly kidnapped and subjected to torture and rape at Khangarh on Tuesday.
In the FIR, a student of Madressah Ashrafia stated that he was going to the mosque to say Maghrib prayers when two men riding a cycle of violence intercepted him near the seminary. The bikers, he said, blindfolded him at gunpoint and took him to an unknown place where they also called some other men, who subjected him to torture and rape.
He said the kidnappers and their accomplices also inflicted cuts on his body with a knife and blades, leaving him unconscious.
Later, the suspects threw him near the seminary and fled away.
The police after recording the victim’s statement shifted him to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. The police sources said the medico-legal report confirmed torture and rape.
A police official said initial investigation suggested that a land dispute could be a motive of the heinous crime.
The Khangarh station house officer said a case had been registered against the nominated and unidentified suspects under sections 377 and 324 of the Pakistain Penal Code and they would soon be enjugged Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! .

[NYPOST] An Oklahoma prison inmate took justice into his own hands last month ‐ beating and strangling a convicted child killer to death inside the cell they shared, according to officials.
Anthony Palma, 59, was allegedly murdered by his cellmate, Raymond Pillado, on Jan. 11 at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.
A medical examiner’s report, which was obtained Wednesday by KFOR, described the cause of death as "ligature strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head."
Palma had been sentenced to life in prison two years ago for a 1997 cold case murder involving an 8-year-old girl whose body was never found. Pillado, 35, is also serving several life sentences for murder and shooting with intent to kill, among other charges.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels of Tanzim Hurras al-Deen launched a surprise attack in the southern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate last night.
According to a military source in Aleppo, Tanzim Hurras al-Deen stormed the Syrian Army’s positions at the Ruwaydah axis in a bid to overwhelm them and kill their soldiers.
The jihadist group claimed they killed several Syrian Arab Army soldiers during the attack; however, a military source near the attack site said that they suffered a couple of injuries from the gunfire.
The source added that the Syrian Arab Army was able to kill at least two of the Tanzim Hurras al-Deen fighters, while also injuring a couple others during the fierce exchange.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Seven Islamic State militants were killed Wednesday in an airstrike that targeted their terrorist hotbed in al-Siniya Island in the Iraqi province of Salahuddin.
“Jet fighters of the U.S.-led international coalition targeted an underground hotbed of Islamic State in the town of Tal Aswad in Salahuddin province, leaving seven terrorists killed,” Mawazin News quoted the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service as saying in a statement.
“The troops also found a large cache of explosive charges inside the hotbed,” the statement read, adding that all the explosives have been successfully detonated inside one of the buildings, which was used by IS militants as a hideout.

Describing the matter of intrusion of the enemy into Pakistain’s boundaries as very serious, he observed that India had under the cover of night violated the LoC.
He said the entire nation stood with the country’s defence forces in protecting the frontiers; all issues should be placed before the joint session of parliament. He appealed to the nation to demonstrate strong unity at this critical moment and prayed for the armed forces.
The maulana, who also heads Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), also talked about the rallies the JUI-F and MMA was successfully holding under the title of ’million march’ throughout the country and referred to a recent rally held one in Badin. He said the huge public participation spoke volumes about peoples’ commitment to safeguard the Islamic identity of Pakistain and its ideology. He said the eighth ’million march’ would be held in a couple of days in Nasirabad [Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... ].

Speaking on the occasion, JUI-F Sindh chapter general secretary Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro claimed that the JUI-F occupied central position in the province and had emerged as a genuine representative party of the people of Sindh. According to him, the movement launched would continue to help redress public problems. "We condemn in strongest terms the violation of the Line of Control by India," he said and pledged to protect every inch of the country.

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi army said on Wednesday that eight Islamic State terrorists were apprehended during a military operation in the western province of Anbar.
“Iraqi intelligence forces launched a preemptive military operation in Znkurh and Abu Teban areas in Anbar to target Islamic State terrorists,” Baghdad Today news website quoted the country’s Military Intelligence Directorate as saying.
The troops managed to arrest eight terrorists, whose mission, according to the statement, was to collect information about the whereabouts of security forces and citizens to target them later.
The arrest was made pursuant to article no. 4 of the anti-terrorism law, added the statement.

A Somerset, NJ man was charged with assaulting an 81-year-old Franklin Township man for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.
Ryan M. Salvagno, 19, of Amwell Road, Somerset was charged with assault, a disorderly person's offense and harassment, a petty disorderly person's offense were filed in the Franklin Township Municipal Court.
Salvagno grabbed the 81-year-old by the arm and threw him to the ground, tipping over his cart of groceries and throwing the hat to the side, Robertson said.
When Franklin Police arrived on scene they found the 81-year old suffering from minor injuries.
Salvagno is scheduled for arraignment on March 14.

IAF airplanes and helicopters attacked a number of terrorist targets in a military compound belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said.
The attack was carried out in response to the attack on a home in a community in the Gaza envelope by a balloon bomb that exploded in the air.
“The IDF views any attempt to hurt Israeli civilians severely and will continue to operate against these attacks,” said the IDF Spokespersons’ Unit.
“The Hamas terror organization bears responsibility for all activities in the Gaza Strip and from it and for the consequences of terror activities emanating from the Gaza Strip,” it added.
Earlier, an explosive device attached to a balloon exploded near the door of a residence in a community in the Eshkol Regional Council.
There were no injuries but extensive damage was caused to the building and the belongings inside it.
[WashingtonPost] If the forecasts for first week of March are verified, the groundhog may have to go into hiding over its early February prediction of an early spring. One of the coldest weeks of the winter season, compared to normal, is on its way.
What that means on the ground is that large portions of the north-central U.S. could struggle to get above zero, with widespread nighttime lows in the minus-10 to minus-20 range a decent bet in that region [up to 40 degrees below normal].
It's also possible that every state except perhaps Georgia, South Carolina and Florida will face high temperatures at or below freezing for at least part of the day during the stretch.

Great Falls broke another record low Tuesday morning, with a reading of at least minus-22. The average temperature there is about minus-1 this month to date. That's the second coldest February on record for the city, and the coldest since 1936, when observations were taken at a different location nearby. Third place there is an incredible 10 degrees warmer!
Although Great Falls might not get its coldest February ever recorded, it is still a remarkable chill compared to recent history. A number of other locations nearby, like Rapid City in South Dakota, are testing similar marks. also Los Angeles will likely have its first February without reaching 70F

By retiring the Nimitz-class supercarrier USS Truman at least two decades early, rather than refueling its nuclear reactor core in 2024 as planned, the military would save tens of billions on overhaul and operations costs that it could invest in other priorities. But the proposal, part of the 2020-2024 budget plan due out mid-March, is sure to inspire outrage on Capitol Hill.
“I can’t imagine this will go over well at all,” one Hill staffer told me. We’re pressing congressional leaders for official responses, but the Pentagon decision seems to have blindsided them entirely. Navy officials have declined to comment on the forthcoming budget.

What percentage of the world's population is within 200 miles of the coastline? If you need a sustained aerial campaign and no local SOF Agreement then -- carriers. The smaller ships and submarines will quickly run out of cruise missiles and the Air Force has only so many tankers for long missions...
What Is worrisome is that the US Navy seems to be building fewer and fewer of the smaller vessels that would be needed to screen these ships and do all of the other odd jobs. Flash back to the Age of Sail where the navies never seemed to have wnough frigates!

Carriers have had a great run, and continue to be relevant now, but in 30-50 yrs, they'll probably be too risky and expensive. intermediate/long range missiles will make huge advances, drone-ish techs will have made huge advances, etc.

Our carrier fleet is designed to secure the entire world, if we no longer intend to do that we should scale back. Drop even one carrier and you no longer need the carrier fleet that supports it.

[MindanaoExaminer] A GROUP of 50 unidentified gunnies and two women believed to be members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) burned down some PHP3 million worth of heavy equipment at the Longa Hermosa Hacienda in Barangay Sta. Monica, Manjuyod town in Negros Oriental on Monday night.
The suspects set fire to five tractors and a Trio weapon carrier around 7:35 p.m., according to the police.
Authorities said they received a call from Martin Longa, 54, married, barangay captain of Sta. Monica and also hacienda supervisor, who reported that gunnies were in the vicinity of his house.
A witness, Rey Acibo Baldado, 45, married, also a resident of the barangay, claimed that while he was on duty inside the compound of the hacienda, the suspects suddenly entered and pointed a long firearm at him.
They introduced themselves in the Cebuano dialect as NPA members and asked for the barangay captain, the police report said.
The suspects then proceeded to Longa’s house, pointed a gun at him, and in the dialect also asked him for his firearm and "ngano wala mo nihatag ug kwarta" (why did you not give us money)?
Longa later told the police that he had previously received phone calls from unknown persons who threatened him for not paying revolutionary tax to the NPA.
He added that in the past nine years, he has received two extortion letters, one of which demanded PHP500,000.
He said he turned over the latest letter to the hacienda’s board manager, Ignacio Longa Vicente, 89, married, and a resident of Barangay Lapas, Bais City in Negros Oriental.
He further told the police that the suspects took his two cellular phones, two hand-held radios, and a Wi-Fi modem.

[Daily Excelsior] A day after the National Investigation Agency conducted raids at the houses of senior separatist leaders in Srinagar, the agency conducted raids at 11 locations in South Kashmire at the houses of Jaish-e-Mohammad ...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. The raids were conduced besides others at the houses of Mudassir Ahmad Khan and Sajjad Bhat, both active forces of Evil of Jaish-e-Mohammad, and key accused persons in the Pulwama attack.
Searches were also conducted in the houses of active OGWs of Jaish-e-Mohammad in Tral, Awantipora and Pulwama areas of South Kashmire. NIA has recovered incriminating materials including diaries containing coded writings.
The NIA also conducted searches in the houses of three separatist leaders of South Kashmire including Mohammad Shaban Dar, Shawkat Maulvi and Yasmin Raja, in terror funding case (RC-10/2017/NIA/DLI) that was registered in 2017 and under which several separatist leaders were placed in durance vile Into the paddy wagon wit' yez! that year and they are in Tihar Jail.
"Documents related to terror funding, coded messages and Jihadi literature have been seized. During searches, NIA teams also recovered lot of incriminating documents including property details, documents relating to financial and monetary transactions, electronic devices, mobile phones, sim cards", the NIA said.
The NIA yesterday conducted raids at the premises belonging to top separatist leaders including Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, JKLF chairman Yasin Malik ...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region... , Shabbir Shah, President JKDFP, Chairman Tehrik-e-Hurriyat Mohammad Ashraf Khan commonly known as Ashraf Sehrai , General Secretary Hurriyat Conference Masarat Alam, Chairman JKSM Zaffar Akbar Bhat, and Naseem Geelani, son of Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani.
In the meantime, Kashmire valley observed shut down today in protest against the NIA raids at the houses of separatists and crackdown on Jamat-e-Islami leaders and workers.
The shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads. However, it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... some private vehicles were seen plying.

[Rudaw] More than 1,000 people on Tuesday managed to leave ISIS held al-Baghouz towards areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to multiple reports, however 51 people also perished.
On Tuesday, 1,400 individuals, including "at least" 350 ISIS members left al-Baghouz toward SDF areas. From Monday to Tuesday, 3,600 individuals left the town on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, including 470 ISIS members, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Wednesday.
In total, 49,050 individuals have left al-Baghouz since December, SOHR added, including 5,352 alleged ISIS members, mostly being Iraqi.
SOHR reported that currently there are 45,500 displaced people in the al-Hol camp.
Leaving ISIS-held territory is difficult and dangerous as conflict continues to wage between the US international coalition-backed and harsh weather conditions. The UK-based conflict monitor reported 51 people, mostly children, have died.
"We have besieged ISIS inside Baghouz. We avoid confrontation but if they try to break the siege we will respond them. We always try to carry out the process [of liberating Baghouz] with intense care in order to let out forces free the civilians," Mustafa Bali, the head of SDF's press office, told Arab 24.
The al-Hol management camp figures, according to Hawar News Agency (ANHA), show there are 5,009 Iraqi families in the camp, totaling 22,000 individuals.
Of alleged ISIS fighters, there are 3,500 people comprising 693 families, added ANHA. Their citizenship was not specified ‐ indicating they are likely imported muscle. The management of the camp claimed that NGOs aren't doing their work properly.
"My husband was a shepherd. Then he started trading. When there was the attack, he joined ISIS. We remained with ISIS. We wanted to leave, but it wouldn't let us," said a Kurdish woman from Manbij whose Kurdish husband had joined ISIS.
She wanted to go to Idlib, where her son is right now, but she might end up in one of the camps set up for families of ISIS fighters.
ANHA, which is close to the Peoples' Protection Units (YPG) in the SDF, also reported that two more Yezidi children emerged from the displacement wave on Tuesday.
Milad Hussein, one of the rescued children, told ANHA that ISIS had trained them how to use weapons and would beat them.
He said that he was playing football when ISIS kidnapped him. The 13-year-old was also taught the Koran and "Islamic religion" by the bad boys.
"I want to meet my mother and my brothers," he added, saying he hasn't seen them for four years now.

[NYPOST] Mayor Bill de Blasio actually took the subway to City Hall on Wednesday ‐ but some passengers weren’t impressed to see him.
The mayor hopped on an R train in Park Slope after being driven from Gracie Mansion to the Y in his old neighborhood for his regular workout.
"He’s a showboat," fellow passenger Jay Ortiz, 44, told The Post.
"Why would he do that?" he asked about the underground ride. "It’s bogus."
Flanked by nearly 20 staffers, news hounds and photographers, de Blasio descended into the subway station at 4th Avenue and 9th Street around 9:30 a.m.
He chatted with riders as they waited about 10 minutes for an R train to arrive.

Randi Levy, a librarian who was on her way to work in Manhattan, took a flier but was skeptical about the mayor’s commute.
"It seems a little bit like a publicity stunt," Levy said.
Park Slope resident Kate Noonan, 31, said she couldn’t understand why the mayor goes to the gym in Brooklyn if he lives in Manhattan.
"It’s a little weird. I don’t know why he does it," she said.
She’d like to see him on her commute every morning if his safety could be guaranteed.
"Maybe he would understand the issue a little more if he did take the subway," Noonan said.
"It’s pretty difficult for me to get to work. I never know if it’s going to take 15 minutes or 30 minutes."

[REASON] In his 2018 confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was asked by Sen. Mike Lee (R‐Utah) whether or not he considered himself to be an originalist. "Originalism refers to basically textualism applied in the constitutional sphere, with an eye toward identifying the original public meaning of the constitutional text at issue," Lee observed. So, "for our purposes today," Lee asked the nominee, "you're an originalist?" "That's correct," Kavanaugh promptly replied.
Many fans of originalism were no doubt heartened by that answer. Unfortunately for them, Kavanaugh just flunked his first big test as an originalist on the Supreme Court.
The test came last week in the case of Timbs v. Indiana. The matter arose in 2013 when a man named Tyson Timbs was arrested on drug charges and sentenced to one year on home detention and five years on probation. A few months after his arrest, the state of Indiana also moved to seize Timbs' brand new Land Rover LR2, a vehicle worth around $40,000. But a state trial court rejected that civil asset forfeiture on the grounds that it would be "grossly disproportionate to the gravity of [Timbs'] offense" and therefore in violation of the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which forbids the imposition of "excessive fines."
The Indiana Supreme Court later reversed that judgment. "We conclude the Excessive Fines Clause does not bar the State from forfeiting Defendant's vehicle because the United States Supreme Court has not held that the Clause applies to the States through the Fourteenth Amendment," the state's high court said.
The issue before the U.S. Supreme Court in Timbs v. Indiana, therefore, was whether or not the Excessive Fines Clause should bind the states just as it binds the federal government. Since the late 19th century, the Supreme Court has been applying‐or incorporating‐the various provisions contained in the Bill of Rights against the states via the 14th Amendment, which says, "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." The issue in Timbs, in other words, boiled down to this: if the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment applies against the states (it does), then the Excessive Fines Clause of the Eighth Amendment deserves the same treatment.

So how did Kavanaugh fail?
He applied the Due Process part of the constitution from the 14th amendment,
I don't see a failure there - he produced a right ruling with a valid constitutional basis.
I agree that Justice Thomas use of the "Privileges and Immunities" clause is possibly more fundamental, but this doesnt mean Kavanugh "flunked" on this ruling.
Didn't matter to the case, per Gorsuch.

They're not supposed to cry for Evita... , where rules on pregnancy terminations are strict.
"I want you to take out of my tummy what the old man put there," the girl had said in a complaint lodged with authorities in the northern province of Tucuman.
She and her mother then submitted an abortion request.
That procedure took seven weeks, though, as doctors invoked their right to conscientious objection.
Argentine authorities often drag their feet in such cases until the legal window for an abortion has passed.
At 23 weeks, doctors deemed the girl to be in danger but instead of an abortion, they performed a caesarean section.
"The child's wishes should have been taken into account. There were two reasons for the abortion," said the family's lawyer, Cecilia De Bono.
Argentine law allows for pregnancy terminations in extreme cases, such as rape or when the mother's life is in danger.
"Vaginally, it wasn't possible. Her body wasn't sufficiently developed for a 23 week pregnancy, and even if it had been, she wasn't psychologically ready given the many abuses she'd suffered," said gynecologist Cecilia Ousset, who took part in the intervention at the Eva Peron hospital in Tucuman.
The five-month-old fetus was extracted alive but doctors say it has almost no chance of surviving.
"The State is responsible for torturing Lucia," said #NiUnaMenos, which means 'not one less,' one of the feminist organizations leading the campaign to legalize abortion.
The Tucuman local government justified its actions, claiming to have put in place "the procedures necessary to save both lives."
Last year, a bill to legalize abortion up to 14 weeks was adopted by the chamber of deputies but defeated in the senate, under strong pressure from the church.
In Argentina, the home of Pope Francis, the question of abortion is a hugely divisive ...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Diyala (IraqiNews.com) – Two Iraqi civilians were killed and three others wounded in a mortal attack on a village in the Iraqi city of Baqubah, a security source said.
In statements to the Palestinian Wattan news agency, the source said that several mortar shells fell on a village on the outskirts of Buhrez district, south of Baqubah, killing two people and wounding three others.
All the wounded were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment, added the source.
[DAWN] Hundreds of families living in the most vulnerable areas along the restive Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmire were reported to have moved to the rear areas, officials and residents said, as three more civilians were maimed on Wednesday amid unrelenting ceasefire violations by Indian troops.
Samina Bibi, 25, and her 3-year-old daughter Kanwal were maimed in Manda village and Nasreen Bibi was injured and a mosque was damaged in Ghee Kot village of Khilana sector in the early hours of Wednesday, said Ahmed Raza Qadri, AJK minister for civil defence.
Khilana is located towards the right of Chakothi-Uri crossing point at the heavily militarised LoC that splits the disputed Himalayan region between Pakistain and India.

[PULSE.NG] Seventeen non-combatants were killed and 15 were maimed in a blast caused by a booby-trapped corpse in central Mali, security sources and a local official said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in Diankabou, a small town about 150 kilometres (90 miles) east of the city of Mopti, they said.
A local official told AFP it was caused by "an bomb which was planted on the body of a man who had been rubbed out."
A security source confirmed the information, saying: "The body went kaboom!, killing 17 people."
Among the victims were the parents of the man whose body had been booby-trapped, he said.
The man had gone to find food for his cattle and had never returned. His parents then found the corpse.
"They rather unwisely approached the body which went kaboom!, killing 17 people. The button men who killed him had planted explosives on his body and around it," the source said.
"This is a method that jihadists use to cause maximum deaths," another security source said.
The attack was the first incident of its kind in Mali. On February 14, jihadists in neighbouring Burkina Faso ...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other... used an identical method, rigging a corpse dressed in military fatigues with explosives. The blast killed two coppers and an army doctor.
Mali has been struggling to return to stability after al-Qaeda-linked bully boyz took control of the north in early 2012, prompting a military intervention by La Belle France.
Although they were routed in the French operation in 2013, large stretches of the landlocked African state remain out of government control.

[Rudaw] As part of its continued energy sector audits, Deloitte announced on Wednesday that the Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) sold crude oil and condensate worth more than $2.26 billion in the third quarter of 2018 up from $1.84 billion in the previous quarter.
It had two findings.
"Oil export and consumption - We did not identify any misstatements in the 1 July 2018 to 30 September 2018 oil export and consumption data," stated Deloitte in their report.
The Kurdistan Region had a "gross value of crude oil and condensate sold (piped exports and local sales)" of $2,262,409,784 in the three-month period.
"Oil sales ‐ We did not identify any misstatements in the 1 July 2018 to 30 September 2018 oil sales data and the net amount received in the period by the KRG," added Deloitte.
Because of payments to other companies, licensing agreements, repayment of debts, payments to oil producers, among other costs, the KRG netted more than $1.3 billion ‐ $1,288,773,374 for sales and related activities, and $104,598,002 in additional advance payments made by buyers.
It averaged $63.098 per barrel of oil exported through the Ceyhan pipeline (totaling 35,246 851 barrels), and $67.734 for crude and condensate sold locally (totaling 174,761 barrels).
In the previous quarter, the KRG exported 30,190,384 barrels of oil through the pipeline.
An advisor to KDP President Masoud Barzani explained that the audits help in improving Erbil-Baghdad relations.
"It's an important issue between Iraq and the KRG," Masoud Haider, a former MP in the Iraqi parliament, told Rudaw English. "We hope that in 2019, with an open discussion ‐ all the issues, economic issues between the KRG and the federal government will be on the table and so on."
The audits are also a tool for the KRG when drafting contracts with foreign energy companies.
Deloitte was appointed to review the KRG's oil activities for 2014-2017 by the KRG's Regional Council for Oil and Gas Affairs.
The KRG welcomed the report.
"The Regional Council for Oil and Gas Affairs acknowledges the positive feedback received from stakeholders, including the international community, and reiterates its commitment to the people of Kurdistan that the two international audit firms, Deloitte and Ernst & Young, will continue to independently review the oil and gas sector, inclusive of all the streams," it stated.
[Rudaw] Baghdad can expect to receive 250,000 barrels of oil per day from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) if it meets its own commitments to pay the Region’s civil servants, repays debts to oil firms, and supplies an adequate budget, a KRG source told Rudaw.
Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani are taking part in a meeting of the KRG’s oil and gas committee to discuss the budget, oil, and economic relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the source said.
"The Kurdistan Region is prepared on condition to send 250,000 oil barrels to Baghdad daily," the source told Rudaw, provided "Baghdad too is prepared to send salaries of Kurdistan Region employees, is committed to paying off the debts owed to oil companies, and dedicate functional budget."
KRG Finance Minister Rebaz Hamlan will present a report about the Region’s expenses and revenues, and Minister of Natural Resources Ashti Hawrami will present a report on its oil revenues, Rudaw has learned.
The meeting will also cover the agreement between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad on the budget, civil servant salaries, and Kurdistan Region oil exports.
Independent oil exports by the KRG have always been a sticking point in relations between the central and regional governments. Tensions boiled over in 2014 when the Iraqi government cut the region’s budget share.
The KRG has argued it can sell its oil according to the Iraqi constitution, while Iraq argues oil sales are a strictly federal matter. The vague, inconclusive nature of the issue stems from the document’s writ.
Article 111 of the constitution stipulates that oil and gas are owned by Iraqis "in all the regions and governorates". Article 112’s first and second sections provide vague detail.
In the first section, the federal government "shall undertake the management of oil and gas extracted from present fields" with the producing governorates and regional governments, and for the revenues to be distributed proportional to population in a "fair manner."
The second section of the document agreed upon in 2005 stipulates that the federal government, with the producing regional or governorate governments, "shall together formulate the necessary strategic policies to develop the oil and gas wealth". The two articles are vague and both governments have interpreted it differently.
This has led to crippling financial crises, coupled with a drop in oil prices, and the onset of the costly war against ISIS. The KRG had to slash the salaries of its public employees.
However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... after the events of October 2017, Iraq agreed to send 317 billion Iraqi dinars ($266 million) to supplement the loss of the Region’s oil revenues to pay public servants.
Under the administration of current Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi, relations have improved. The 2019 budget is soon to be implemented.
The new budget bill has a protection for civil servants in the Kurdistan Region. No longer will their salaries be cut if the KRG does not hand over the oil. Rather, Baghdad could cut other non-salary related budgets for the KRG.
Iraq is unlikely to receive the 250,000 bpd it expects from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in 2019 because previous international oil deals by the KRG and such high exports may put unneeded pressure on the Kurdistan Region’s recovering economy.
The Kurdistan Regional Government cannot hand over 250,000 bpd to Iraq’s state marketing company SOMO as part of the Iraqi budget bill mainly as its oil is subject to legal terms in long-term contracts. Iraq has shown flexibility.
Iraqi Oil Minister Thamer al-Ghadban said on state media al-Iraqiyah on Sunday that the KRG is yet to over 250,000 bpd to SOMO. "It hasn't been handed over up to now", he claimed.
"We expect there soon will be dialogue. We see that the atmosphere is conductive and appropriate," added the minister.

[PULSE.NG] Spain is probing an incident linked to the North Korean embassy in Madrid, the interior ministry and police said Wednesday, which Spanish media described as a break- in by people who stole computers.
"We are investigating," a ministry front man told AFP, saying the probe centred around "mild injuries to a North Korean citizen in the street."
A police source, who refused to be named, said the mysterious incident had taken place "near the embassy," describing the incident as "unusual."
The interior ministry front man said the North Korean embassy had not filed any official complaint.

[IsraelTimes] Adnan Ghaith reportedly under investigation over Paleostinian Authority action to counter land sales to Jews in the east of the city.
The Paleostinian Authority governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, was among 22 people tossed in the calaboose Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! by Israeli security forces in a series of raids overnight Tuesday in the city’s eastern sector, Paleostinian media reported.
Police said in a statement Wednesday that a senior Paleostinian official and a further individual were detained on suspicion of violating a law that limits PA activity in Jerusalem, as well as fraud and forgery.
The Kan public broadcaster reported that the second individual detained was Ghaith’s lawyer.
Authorities have reportedly been investigating the governor following the PA’s arrest last October of a Paleostinian-American man accused of involvement in selling a property in East Jerusalem to a Jewish buyer.
On October 20, Ghaith was detained for two days of questioning before being released, with the Shin Bet domestic security agency saying it was over "illegal activity by the [Paleostinian Authority] in Jerusalem," and he was arrested again in November.
PA courts have previously sentenced Paleostinians to death for selling land to Jews. Since 2005, however, the PA has not carried out any executions.

Israel, which annexed East Jerusalem in a move not recognized internationally, almost entirely does not allow the PA to operate within Jerusalem.

During the Second Intifada, Zubeidi served as the commander of the Jenin region of Fatah’s military wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. He was also suspected of being one of the chief architects of several terror attacks during the early 2000s.
Zubeidi, who also helped found Jenin’s Freedom Theatre in 2006, evaded capture by Israeli forces for years, before the Israeli government offered him and several other al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades members amnesty in 2007.
While he was wanted by Israel for his terrorist activities, Zubeidi began a relationship with an Israeli woman, Tali Fahima, in 2004. Fahima moved into Zubeidi’s Jenin home in order to act as a human shield and prevent Israel from conducting an Arclight airstrike to kill him. She was later arrested and convicted of assisting an enemy in wartime.
In December 2011, the Israeli government rescinded Zubeidi’s amnesty without public explanation. Zubeidi has been on Jerusalem’s wanted list ever since.
Initially, Zubeidi evaded capture by Israeli forces by remaining in Paleostinian Authority custody in Ramallah. He was released by the PA and permitted to return to Jenin in 2017.
[PULSE.NG] Algeria's ailing President Abdelaziz Bouteflika remains at a Swiss hospital as protests grow in his country against his bid for a fifth term, the Tribune de Geneve newspaper reported Wednesday.
Citing what it described as multiple and well-informed sources, the TdG reported that Bouteflika has been at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) since Sunday.
HUG is a public teaching hospital, but has a private wing that could accommodate VIPs seeking privacy, according to the hospital's website.
A HUG spokesman declined to comment on the report.
Bouteflika, who uses a wheelchair and has rarely been seen in public since suffering a stroke in 2013, announced on February 10 that he would seek re-election in the April 18 vote.
The 81-year-old has repeatedly received medical care in Switzerland since the 1980s.
His office had previously announced that the president was scheduled to travel to Switzerland for "routine medical checks" ahead of the election.

Earlier today, I met with House Speaker Busch and agreed to step down from my leadership position. I also agreed to participate in sensitivity training. I understand that the use of inappropriate and insensitive language is not acceptable under any circumstance. If you can SAY the word at all, assh*le, it's in your vocabulary. My (otherwise bigoted) mother raised us that we were NEVER to use that word, because "Only trash talks like that, and I'm not raising any trash."
And yes, I still believe that "only trash talks like that," whether it's some white delegate in Maryland or Chris Rock.

You have to give this person credit. She never uses such language except when she speaks or writes, and that means most of the time.
And when she said these words were not in her vocabulary, she was referring to the book of words she once studied from when cramming for some exam. And maybe they were not there.
So you should forgive her trespasses just as she and her fellow Democrats forgive those who trespass against them.

[MindanaoExaminer] A POLICEMAN was killed and another was maimed when a group of gunnies, believed to be communist rebels, attacked them while patrolling an area in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon Monday evening.
Supt. Surki Sereñas, Police Regional Office 10 (Northern Mindanao) spokesperson, described the attack in Barangay Sumpong that killed Police Officer 3 Jerry Tropel as "treacherous."
Tropel’s companion, P01 Rene Caña, sustained injuries and is recuperating at a hospital.
"Caña narrowly escaped death but was also maimed after shooting it out with four button men armed with M1 rifles and caliber .45 pistols," Sereñas said, adding that they believe the New People’s Army (NPA) was responsible for the attack.
Sereñas said the coppers were on a night patrol in the area in response to frequent street crimes in the village.
A local radio report Tuesday morning indicated that the NPA has admitted the attack.
