Arabia
Houthis claim missile attack on US destroyer in Red Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The military representative of the Yemeni Houthis, Yahya Saria, said that the rebel movement launched a missile attack on a US destroyer in the Red Sea, on the Al Masirah TV channel.

“The Yemeni navy conducted a combat operation during which it fired several anti-ship missiles at the US destroyer Mason in the Red Sea,” Saria said.
Note that he says nothing about actually hitting the target.
He added that the Houthis also launched a missile attack on the commercial ship Destiny in the Red Sea. It was heading to the port of Eilat in Israel.

As Regnum reported, on May 8, the head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, said at a military parade that the United States was sending “tempting offers” so that the movement would stop attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea. He called these steps by the American leadership humiliating. Al-Mashat said the Houthis will continue their attacks in support of the Gaza Strip, whose residents are suffering from attacks by the Israeli army.

Saria on May 9 announced missile strikes on three Israeli ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
How the Times of Israel reported it:
Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels on Wednesday claimed they targeted a US Navy destroyer and a commercial ship in the Red Sea, but there was no immediate confirmation that any attacks took place.

Houthi military front man Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the rebels targeted the USS Mason with missiles and launched an attack on a ship he identified as the Destiny. Multiple vessels have that name in shipping registries.

The US Navy’s Mideast-based 5th Fleet did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Mason, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, has been in the Red Sea and the wider region as part of a US-led coalition trying to prevent Houthi attacks on shipping.

...Well, Houthis claim a lot of things. If we just had the stones to lay down an airstrike when one of the little bastards pops their heads up to scream (and we can do it) it might stop and PDQ at that.

However, Biden's stupid rhetoric about civilian casualties re the IDF makes it very difficult for him to order the kind of devastating strike that is needed to convince the Houthis to desist.

From the viewpoint of violent desert tribesmen, which is to say an Islamic perspective, talking about something is the same as doing it. In The Arab Mind, the author goes into detail but basically that fact they they confronted the Great Satan, no matter how ineffectively, is just as good as striking a fatal blow. Aloha Snackbar!

Europe
Geert Wilders’ right-wing party reaches provisional deal for hard-right Dutch coalition
[IsraelTimes] Anti-Islam firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
took the most votes in recent election but had difficulty forming a government; a technocratic prime minister is expected to be brought in

Anti-Islam firebrand Geert Wilders and three other Dutch party leaders said Wednesday they have brokered a provisional coalition deal in a move that brings closer a government driven by the hard right in yet another European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
nation.

The party leaders said that they will put the text to their party backbenchers before a full government deal can be announced. The parties still have to agree on a prime minister, who is expected to be a technocrat from outside the party structures.

With hard-right and populist parties now part of or leading a half dozen governments in the 27-nation bloc, they appear positioned to make gains in the June 6-9 election for the European Parliament.

"We have a deal among negotiators, and we will return to the position of prime minister at a later moment," Wilders said. He has reluctantly acknowledged he will not succeed Mark Rutte and instead has pushed for an outsider.

The name of a prime minister was still elusive, and even though Wilders won the election, he was considered by many too risky to be the national leader.

Speculation has centered on Ronald Plasterk, from the Labor Party, who shot back to prominence this year when he became the first "scout" to hold talks with politicians about possible coalitions.

Wilders has called Plasterk a "creative spirit" with political experience, but who is also distanced enough from the current political scene.

"If you want a government to succeed, you need a prime minister that unites," said Pieter Omtzigt, leader of the centrist New Social Contract party. Outgoing Prime Minister Rutte’s center-right People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy and the populist Farmer Citizen Movement are also in the coalition deal.

Wilders’ Party for Freedom won 37 seats in the 150-seat lower house of the Dutch parliament, and the four parties combined hold a comfortable majority of 88 seats.

After two decades in the opposition, Wilders seemed to have a shot at leading a nation that long prided itself on its tolerant society, but he has stepped aside in the interest of pushing through most of his agenda.

From Finland to Croatia, hard-line right parties are part of European governing coalitions, and hard-right or populist prime ministers are leading Hungary, Slovakia and Italia.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
PA says man killed in clash with Israeli troops during Nakba Day march in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian report says 20-year-old university student shot by soldiers at checkpoint near Ramallah; military yet to comment on incident

Paleostinian officials said Israeli troops killed a man on Wednesday as festivities broke out after a West Bank march commemorating the Paleostinian "Nakba," or catastrophe, of Israel’s creation in 1948.

"A young man was killed by occupation bullets at the northern entrance of the city of al-Bireh," an Israeli checkpoint at the outskirts of Ramallah, the Paleostinian Authority health ministry said.

The Israeli army did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The PA’s official news agency Wafa said the man killed was 20-year-old Ayser Muhammad Safi, a student at Birzeit University, reporting that he was shot in the neck during a confrontation between a group of young men and Israeli forces.

Witnesses on site told AFP they had seen a group of male students from Birzeit University gather a short distance from the al-Bireh entrance, where they were preparing to begin protesting when Israeli troops moved in.

During the confrontation, Israeli forces fired some kind of gas and sound grenades at the protesters, Wafa reported.

THOUSANDS MARCH
Wednesday’s clash happened shortly after the annual march in Ramallah commemorating the 76th anniversary of what Paleostinians consider the "Nakba," or catastrophe, when around 760,000 Paleostinians fled or were driven from their homes during the War of Independence in 1948, after the UN-proposed division of mandatory Paleostine was rejected by Arabs in Paleostine and Arab states.

Thousands marched across the West Bank, keffiyeh scarves draped across their shoulders.

Israel has also carried out near-daily raids in the West Bank in a bid to thwart terror groups.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,000 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,700 affiliated with Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
. According to the PA’s health ministry, more than 490 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time.

Anti-Israel protesters want University of California to divest $32 billion in assets
[IsraelTimes] Official at state university system says holdings being targeted by UC Divest Coalition include investments in groups linked to arms makers, $12 billion in US Treasury bills

represent $32 billion — or nearly one-fifth — of the system’s overall assets, the system’s chief investment officer says.

UC Chief Investment Officer Jagdeep Singh Bachher unveiled the estimate Tuesday at the first public Board of Regents meeting since nationwide pro-Paleostinian student protests began in April. The calculation was in response to a letter he received last month from the UC Divest Coalition, which is scrutinizing the system’s overall $175 billion in assets.

The group asked for the system to halt its investments in weapons manufacturers, the investment firms Blackstone and BlackRock, and two dozen companies across the entertainment, technology and beverage industries.

Bachher said that would apply to investments that include: $3.3 billion in holdings from groups with ties to weapons manufacturers; $12 billion in US treasuries; $163 million in the investment firm BlackRock and $2.1 billion in bonds that BlackRock manages; $8.6 billion from Blackstone and $3.2 billion from the other 24 companies.

"We pride ourselves on a culture of transparency," Bachher said, adding that it is important to listen to and engage with students.

The University of California system said last month it would not boycott or divest from Israel, and the regents have not indicated a change in position during this week’s meetings.

In 1986, the regents voted to divest $3.1 billion from companies doing business with South Africa’s apartheid government after more than a year of student protests. The system also dropped its investments in fossil fuels in 2020.

For weeks, students at campuses across the country have been protesting and setting up encampments at their universities to call on them to be more transparent about their investments and to divest from companies that financially support Israel. The demonstrations have led to disruptions, arrests and debates over free speech rights. Tensions between protesters, law enforcement and administration at the University of California, Los Angeles, have garnered some of the most attention.

In first for US, California public university agrees to academic boycott of Israel
[IsraelTimes] Head of Sonoma State University says he’s on leave less than a day after announcing deal, which includes formation of SJP ‘advisory council’ to ensure school complies with terms

The president of a public university in Northern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, announced Wednesday that was he on leave, less than a day after endorsing an academic boycott of Israel as part of an agreement with pro-Paleostinian demonstrators to remove their tent encampment that was fiercely denounced by Jewish groups and politicians.

In addition to an academic boycott, Sonoma State University’s Mike Lee agreed Tuesday to the establishment of an "advisory council" of Students for Justice in Paleostine — whose national umbrella organization praised the Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
-led October 7 terror onslaught that started the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
— to ensure compliance with the deal, which also includes a section on "disclosure and divestment."

The deal, which followed a number of other agreements that universities have announced in an effort to end the protest encampments that have been roiling campuses in the US, appeared to make the school the first American university to agree to an academic boycott of Israel.

"My goal when meeting with students at the encampment was to explore opportunities to make meaningful change, identify common ground and create a safe and inclusive campus for all. I now realize that many of the statements I made in my campuswide message did just the opposite," Lee wrote in a school-wide email.

"In my attempt to find agreement with one group of students, I marginalized other members of our student population and community. I realize the harm that this has caused, and I take full ownership of it. I deeply regret the unintended consequences of my actions," he added.

He also stressed in the email that "the points outlined in the message were mine alone" and said he did not consult with the chancellor of the California State University system.

"As I step away on a leave, I will reflect on the harm this has caused and will be working with the chancellor’s office to determine next steps," he said.

According to a copy of the agreement that Lee sent out less than 24 hours earlier, Sonoma State University was reviewing investments in its endowment, after which school administrators and the SJP advisory council "will meet with proper officials to determine a course of action leading to divestment strategies that include seeking ethical alternatives."

"SSU will post and disseminate a disclosure statement related to funding amounts, the use of funding, and conditions attached to funds," the message states.

The following section, titled "academic boycott," notes the school does not have any exchange agreements with Israeli universities and vows that any potential partnerships will be considered "on an annual basis, in conversation with the advisory council of SJP."

"SSU will not pursue or engage in any study abroad programs, faculty exchanges, or other formal collaborations that are sponsored by, or represent, the Israeli state academic and research institutions," the letter says.

"SSU also commits to immediately updating any SSU pamphlets and SSU-hosted websites that may still be circulating or searchable and to remove hosting or linking to any pamphlets, flyers, or brochures advertising the study abroad program where students are encouraged to study abroad in Israel. SSU will make it clear to any students that any such programs are terminated until further notice and not simply suspended," it continues. "SSU remains committed to upholding principles of academic freedom and open scholarly exchange. As such, SSU welcomes opportunities to engage Paleostinian scholars."

The letter says that the SJP advisory committee will be formed "as a mechanism to ensure SSU administration accountability for all agreements," with "the main goal" of working with the school "to review progress on the initiatives listed below."

"The advisory council of SJP will be established through a collaboration between SJP and Sonoma State and will be composed of members from the encampment, faculty, staff, administrators, Paleostinian alumni, and other interested students, as determined by Students for Justice in Paleostine," the message says, adding it "will meet regularly beginning Fall 2024."

The deal announced by Lee was condemned by local Jewish organizations, with the Jewish Community Relations Council Bay Area charging it violated California State University system’s policies against discrimination and a state anti-BDS law, "in addition to elevating anti-Israel groups that advocate for the elimination of the Jewish state."

"The civil rights of Jewish students and faculty are not a bargaining chip that should be used to quell campus unrest," the group said in a statement.

State Senator Scott Wiener accused Lee of aligning Sonoma State University "with BDS, a movement whose goal is the destruction of Israel, home to 7 million Jews."
Weiner is an absolute piece of sh*t, but he's not wrong on this
"Several other UC [University of California] and CSU [California State University] campuses are doing this more subtly," Wiener wrote on the social media platform X, referring to two of the state’s two public university systems. "Sonoma State simply said the quiet part out loud."

preacher Abdulkadir Mumin.

According to authorities in Puntland, the men, who come from foreign countries, have been training fighters around the Golis mountains, and have often staged attacks around Bosaso, the commercial capital of the state.

General Abdifatah Haji Adan, the chairman of the military court, said the Æthiopian and Moroccan nationals surrendered to Puntland after escaping from the ISIS group. The IS-Somalia is affiliated with ISIS bully boys, who have roots in the Middle East.

The court released the six men to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, which was directed to repatriate them to their countries of origin. In addition, the court also released six children who had also been recruited to the ISIS branch in Somalia.

Two months ago, the military court in Puntland sentenced to death six Moroccans believed to be imported muscle for the Islamic State Death Eater group in Somalia. The group rivals al-Shabaab and both target innocent civilians and security teams in their cowardly attacks.

After thorough scrutiny, the six were identified as Mohammed Hassan, Ahmed Najwi, Khalid Latha, Mohammed Binu Mohammed Ahmed, Ridwan Abdulkadir Osmany, and Ahmed Hussein Ibrahim. They were accused of being members of the IS-Somalia terrorist group.

Interestingly, the military court did not reveal whether the released Moroccans are among those sentenced last month. The IS-Somalia has a huge presence around the Golis mountains and the Bari region, where they have repeatedly fought with al-Shabaab holy warriors as they wrestle for dominance.

MV Abdullah was carrying over 55,000 tonnes of coal from Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates but would be seized off Somalia's coast in March, leading to a frantic search by special operations teams, including the Coast Guards.

The seizure came during a surge in Somali pirate activity, with international naval forces diverted from the Gulf of Aden into the Red Sea to guard against attacks on shipping by Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
's Iran-backed Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s
, AFP adds.

"I thought it was the last day of my life," M. Noor Uddin, one of the 23 crew members who arrived in Chittagong on Tuesday aboard another bulk carrier, told AFP.

"When the pirates attacked the ship, I just tried to remember the face of my son and wished that I could hold him for one last time," he added.

According to A.S.M Saifuzzaman, the Chief Engineer, every minute of the victims was a 'nightmare' in captivity. They were held for 32 days before they were rescued.

"When any other ship crossed the route or came close to our ship, the pirates would hold their guns to our heads," he said. "We never thought this day would ever come."

The Somali pirates freed the MV Abdullah after its Bangladeshi owners, KSRM Group, paid a hefty ransom that was air-dropped over the vessel in sackloads of US dollars. However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
the amount paid was not disclosed.

The hijackers had given the crew a letter of safe passage in Somali promising "the ship would not come under any more attacks by pirates until it reached Dubai port".

Cases of piracy have surged in Somalia for the last four months, triggering complaints from members of the international community. The US and other international partners have dispatched elite teams to man deep waters along the 3,333 kilometers of coastline.

Somali pirates taken to Seychelles for prosecution
[Garowe] Six suspected Somali pirates have been transferred to the Indian Ocean Island of Seychelles for prosecution, it has emerged, with the culprits transported using an EU worship
or warship
, after they were involved in the Gulf of Aden incident which was classified as a pirate attack.

Last weekend, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Naval Force Operation Atalanta confirmed a 'suspicious approach' that involved the Marshall Islands-flagged Chrystal Arctic, taking place last Friday approximately 100 nautical miles north of Bosaso, Somalia.

Reports indicate the vessel sighted along the Gulf of Aden was carrying 5-6 individuals who were heavily armed. The UK Maritime Trade Operations has since confirmed the incident, terming it a suspected pirate raid within the coastline of Somalia.

On sighting the potential threat, the tanker’s Master implemented self-protection measures. The armed individuals on the small craft opened fire, leading to the vessel’s Armed Security Team returning fire, prompting the small craft to abandon its approach.

The ATALANTA warship took the six men into custody after the scuffle, as some were taken for treatment following injuries sustained. The incident has since been classified as a piracy attempt, officials said.

Seychelles is among the nations with whom Operation ATALANTA has a legal agreement allowing for the trial of suspected pirates arrested by its warships. The six will have to face the trial on the island, becoming the second lot to face prosecution.

Last month, many Somali pirates were taken to India for prosecution after they were nabbed in the Indian Ocean. Cases of piracy have increased along the 3,333 kilometers of coastline for the last two years, but the government has partnered with stakeholders to curb the incidents.

EUNAVFOR suspects the presence of two or more pirate action groups off the Somali coast following a string of recent dhow hijackings. Two merchant vessels, the MV Ruen and the MV Abdullah, were hijacked in December, with the former rescued by the Indian Navy after a three-month hostage situation.

There were reports that the pirates have signed a clandestine agreement with al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
, a group seeking to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia. Under the agreement, the two groups would share proceeds of ransom in all successful piracy incidents.

Nancy Pelosi Begins Dressing As Hobo After Learning San Francisco Giving Vodka Shots To Homeless
[BEE] SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Bay Area residents were doing double-takes today, as Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi began dressing as a hobo after learning San Francisco was giving free vodka shots to the homeless.

The former Speaker of the House hatched the genius plot to score some free booze after hearing about the city's new initiative to hand out free alcohol to transients around town, leading to her layering on old, dirty clothing and carrying a bindle.

"I'm just a homeless lady looking for some liquid comfort!" Pelosi was heard saying loudly enough for people around her to hear. "I'm a humble hobo, wandering my way through the streets in search of some delicious vodka to whet my whistle and ease the sting of my sorrows. You, sir, will you please direct me to the place where they are handing out free vodka shots?"

Passersby reported seeing the distinctly Pelosi-like hobo shuffle around from street corner to street corner asking if there were other locations throughout the city pouring free alcohol. "She seemed highly motivated," one witness said. "Someone said they thought it might just be an old crazy lady who looked like Nancy Pelosi, but then we saw her meet up with her security guards and get into a limo in the alley over there. I saw her almost fall over from being hammered, so I definitely know it was her."

At publishing time, Pelosi had been overheard passing along info about the city's upcoming "Free Crack Weekend" to another hobo who witnesses said looked suspiciously like Hunter Biden.

IDF spokesman reveals how Hamas infiltrated Islamic Jihad
[IsraelNationalNews] IDF Arabic Language Spokesman Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee revealed on Thursday that Hamas recruited a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative to act as a spy within the terror organization.
Don’t tell anyone, but his name is Mohammed. Or possibly it was Abdul…
According to Adraee, Murad Walid Omar Shaheen joined the ranks of Islamic Jihad in 2010, where he served in the counter-espionage department of the organization’s military wing.

In 2022, an operating officer for the Hamas General Security Service, named Taher Mahmoud Tahar Al-Aqqad, recruited Shaheen to work as a spy for Hamas and provide information about Islamic Jihad.

As a double agent, Shaheen provided Hamas with sensitive internal information about Islamic Jihad members, individuals nominated for promotion, and internal tensions within Islamic Jihad. He also provided military information about the organization, which dealt with the geographical deployment of "Al-Quds Brigades" members, and information about how to purchase spy equipment and the reason for stopping the Islamic Jihad’s tunnel-digging work.

During a presentation prepared by the Hamas General Security Service, which was presented to Yahya Al-Sinwar, the members of the agency recounted the method of their spying on Islamic Jihad and their work to influence the internal trends and actions of the organization.
So Israel had the meeting room bugged or someone inside recording? Kinky.

White House blocks release of Biden's special counsel interview audio
[NY Post] The White House has blocked the release of audio from President Joe Biden’s interview with a special counsel about his handling of classified documents, arguing Thursday that Republicans in Congress only wanted the recordings "to chop them up" and use them for political purposes.

The dispute over access to the recordings is at the center of a Republican effort to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress and more broadly to hinder the Democratic president’s reelection effort in the final months of the closely contested campaign.

"The absence of a legitimate need for the audio recordings lays bare your likely goal — to chop them up, distort them, and use them for partisan political purposes," White House counsel Ed Siskel wrote in a scathing letter to House Republicans ahead of scheduled votes by two House committees to refer Garland to the Justice Department for the contempt charges over the department’s refusal to hand over the audio.

160 lawyers demand US investigate South African gov. corruption
[IsraelNationalNews] A group of 160 lawyers, led by the Israel Law Center - Shurat HaDin, have issued a call to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the Justice Department and Congressional leaders urging an investigation of South African leaders. In a letter sent today (Thursday), the lawyers call upon American authorities to investigate members of the African National Congress Party (ANC), the party that holds a majority of seats in the National Assembly and also leads the South African government, under the Magnitsky Act for participating "in acts of significant corruption involving bribery."

The letter further alleges that officials accepted bribes from Iran that were intended to cover ANC debts, in return for which party members agreed to pursue the case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) blaming Israel for committing genocide in Gaza.

MIT-educated brothers are arrested for 'stealing $25 million in cryptocurrency in 12 seconds' in...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] …in cutting-edge scheme targeting Ethereum blockchain
  • Two MIT-educated brothers, Anton Peraire-Bueno, 24, and James Peraire-Bueno, 28, arrested for allegedly stealing $25 million in crypto in April 2023

  • The fraud involved manipulating pending transactions in just 12 seconds

  • Pair studied computer science & maths at MIT, rejected pleas to return the funds

An indictment charged them with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Anton Peraire-Bueno was arrested in Boston, while James Peraire-Bueno was arrested in New York.

The indictment alleged that for months, the Peraire-Bueno brothers plotted to manipulate and tamper with the protocols used to validate transactions for inclusion on the Ethereum blockchain, a public ledger that records each cryptocurrency transaction.

Prosecutors said they did so by exploiting a vulnerability in the code of software called MEV-boost that is used by most Ethereum network 'validators,' who are responsible for checking that new transactions are valid before they are added to the blockchain.

It is believed that after carrying out the heist, the brothers rejected requests to return the funds and instead took steps to launder and hide the stolen cryptocurrency.

Over the course of several months the brothers learned the trading behaviors of the victim traders whose cryptocurrency they ultimately stole.

As they planned the supposed heist, they allegedly also took numerous steps to conceal their identities and lay the groundwork to conceal the stolen proceeds, including by setting up shell companies and using multiple private cryptocurrency addresses and foreign cryptocurrency exchanges, prosecutors say.

Moment attacker is stabbed by victim seven times in New York City
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Attacker who tries to ambush couple walking their dog in Queens is stabbed seven times when his assault plan spectacularly backfires.

Surveillance footage shows how the 37-year-old attacker appeared to ambush two people walking with their dog near 49th and Broadway in Woodside on Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The assailant, seen in video wearing a blue sweatshirt, throws a garment onto the floor before lunging at his victim from behind.

The victim ducks and turns, grabbing his attacker near the neck and pulling him to the floor before unleashing a flurry of attacks with a knife as his companion joins the assault.

Held to the floor, the original attacker is helpless to react as the couple beat him in broad daylight, with bystanders only looking on as the commotion unfolds.

The assailant eventually gets to his feet but is restrained by his intended victim, seen wearing a medical boot on his right foot, and held back from escaping.

He is currently in a stable condition, the New York Post reported.

The NYPD say the attack happened at around 2:46pm on Wednesday, and that they have not yet made any arrests. They say they are searching for two suspects, according to Fox 5.

-Great Cultural Revolution
Robert Spencer: Is Diversity Really Our Strength? An Incident in Minnesota Suggests Otherwise
[PJ] Third grade used to be about learning to write in cursive and mastering multiplication tables. In the America that the left has given us, it’s a different story, as we can see from a ghastly incident that just took place in Savage, Minnesota.

If you haven’t heard of Savage, Minn., that’s only because it isn’t. Savage is a suburban town of 33,000 that is fifteen miles from downtown Minneapolis and, since its founding in 1852, has been worlds away from any actual savagery. Now, however, it has started to live up to its name, thanks to the "diversity" that has been pushed on Americans as a wonderful way to make our nation more "vibrant."

You want vibrant? Savage is plenty vibrant now. Shawna Larson’s daughter is in third grade at Hidden Valley Elementary School in Savage. On Monday, Minnesota’s Alpha News reported that Larson is "demanding answers after she says her nine-year-old daughter was jumped on the school playground by a group of girls who she was told targeted her daughter because ’she wasn’t Muslim.’"

Larson said that Hidden Valley’s principal and her daughter’s third-grade teacher broke the news to her when she went to pick up her daughter from school: "They came up to my vehicle and informed me that there was an incident at school that day. They wanted to make it very apparent that my daughter didn’t do anything to cause this, and they told me this was a calculated incident and that she had been attacked on the playground by four other students in her grade. I ended up learning... this was due to her race and her religion because she wasn’t Muslim. So that was pretty jarring to hear."

Indeed. But it wasn’t until the following day that Larson realized how badly her daughter had been hurt: "That’s when we noticed that she had a black eye, and we immediately took a picture of it. When she came home that day, I just kind of looked her over and she had bruises on her arms and a bruise on her back, bruises all over her legs." This isn’t Mary Tyler Moore’s Minnesota, not anymore.

Not only did the Muslim girls beat Larson’s daughter; they also threatened her that they would claim victimhood if she complained: "She told me she tried to get up and when she tried to get up and go for help the first time, and I believe it was the first time that they had gotten her on the ground, that she was trying to fight back and they had told her that if she hit them or she touched them, that they would hurt themselves and tell the teacher that she had hurt them. So, she just told me, ’You know, so all I could do there is lay there, Mom.’"

Larson noted that school officials did nothing to punish the attackers: "My daughter hadn’t done anything to initiate this or create what had happened. This was just because of her race and her religion. So that was a big thing. Just the lack of action the school was taking, which I do understand to a point that the school has their own rules and their own laws that they have to follow. But the fact that because this was race and religion-fueled, the fact that they were never suspended or expelled from school or redirected to distance learning instead of continuing to stay in the classroom, which two of them were in the same classroom as my daughter, is alarming, regardless of their age."

Now, this is just kids being kids, right? This sort of thing is just going to happen from time to time on whatever pretext, right? Well, there will always be bullies, but the attack on Larson’s daughter was different. Attacking non-Muslims is unfortunately not just something that "extremists" do but is a Qur’anic imperative: "Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are ruthless to unbelievers, merciful to one another" (48:29). There are numerous incidents of Muslims targeting non-Muslims worldwide in jihad terror attacks as well as in simple acts of petty harassment.

This incident in Savage was a harbinger of many more such incidents to come. All one need do is look at any place in the world where non-Muslims and non-Muslims, both in significant numbers, live close to one another. There is not a single such place where the Muslims don’t carry out regular acts of violence against the non-Muslims. Why did our leftist moral superiors assume that America would be different? Or did they assume that at all?

Hunter Biden's ‘sugar brother' Kevin Morris told associates he's ‘completely tapped out' as trials approach: report
[NY Post] Parasites will do that
Hunter Biden’s so-called "sugar brother" Kevin Morris has told associates that he can’t afford to cover the mounting legal bills incurred by the first son, who’s set to face two trials starting next month.

"The reason Kevin got involved financially in the first place was that he could see that no one was going to help Hunter," a person close to the Hollywood entertainment lawyer told Politico.

"Now, four and a half years later, there’s still no help — and now Kevin is completely tapped out," the person added. "So just when Hunter is facing two criminal trials starting in a few weeks, he has no resources. It’s pretty dire."

Morris, who earned a fortune representing the creators of the television series "South Park," has loaned the president’s 54-year-old son more than $6.5 million since meeting him at a political fundraiser in late 2019.

The 60-year-old lawyer was interviewed by the House Ways and Means, Oversight and Judiciary Committees on Jan. 18 as part of the impeachment inquiry into the president and acknowledged paying "various attorneys" on behalf of Hunter Biden.

Morris, citing attorney-client privileges, refused to tell lawmakers exactly how much he’s spent fronting the first son’s legal fees.

Biden is facing three felony charges in a federal gun case out of Delaware, where he is slated to stand trial on June 3.

The embattled first son also has a June 20 trial date set in California, where he faces nine counts related to tax fraud.

Morris’ financial constraints pose "a huge problem" for Hunter’s defense, the source told Politico, citing concerns about how expert witnesses will be paid.

On Tuesday, Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell told the judge presiding over the Delaware gun case that the trial start should be pushed back because he and his team were struggling to lock down expert witnesses to testify on a variety of issues in the case, according to Politico.

Lowell explained that three experts have "tentatively agreed" to participate but the details were still being worked out.

He also claimed that defense "resources" have been strained by having to prepare for back-to-back trials on two different coasts.

The embattled first son also has a June 20 trial date set in California, where he faces nine counts related to tax fraud.

The judge refused to move the Delaware trial start date.

Hunter has pleaded not guilty to all charges in both cases.

Government Corruption
Commentary: DHS' Secrecy About ‘Disinformation' Regulation Docs
[Tenn Star] Nearly two years after Nina Jankowicz briefly led the Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security, she’s launched an organization demanding transparency and the public release of documents about the public debate on disinformation. An interesting move, likely without true transparency in mind.
"Mary Poppins" got run out of town, briefly
My organization, Americans for Prosperity Foundation, has spent the same two years fighting DHS for documents on the federal board Jankowicz managed. We’re filing a second lawsuit under the Freedom of Information Act to fight continued government stonewalling of our requests. Thus far, DHS has refused to provide unredacted versions of documents that outline its purported authorities to regulate disinformation. Nor will the agency release more information about its work on misinformation related to "irregular migration" and "Ukraine" before the board was disbanded in August 2022.

So, taxpayers are unable to find out what legal authority DHS is exercising, and they aren’t allowed to learn about the work being done with their tax dollars. Does this sound like a dystopian novel yet?

Why do the documents from a defunct government board matter? Because DHS and Jankowicz sold the board as necessary. They claimed to be worried that DHS’ various offices’ ongoing disinformation work threatened Americans’ free speech rights.

Jankowicz tweeted in April 2022, "one of the key reasons the Board was established, is to maintain the Dept’s committment to protecting free speech, privacy, civil rights, & civil liberties."

DHS told reporters in April 2022, "[I]ronically, this Board is designed to protect the freedom of speech that critics are falsely claiming it is attempting to trample." DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also said, "[I]t was quite disconcerting, frankly, that the disinformation work that was well underway for many years across different independent administrations was not guided by guardrails."

In May 2022, Mayorkas told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that the board was necessary to make sure ongoing disinformation work in DHS "does not infringe on people’s free speech rights" and that the board would be developing "guidelines" and "guardrails." That same month, the board was paused and then ultimately disbanded in August 2022.

Disconcerting, indeed. If DHS and Jankowicz were telling the truth about the board’s necessity, then DHS offices across the country continue to do disinformation work without any guardrails to protect free speech.

So the disinformation work is ongoing, but the work to provide "guardrails" has stopped. We want to know what guidance that work currently operates under, but DHS refuses to provide the information. What are they trying to hide?

We aren’t the only ones denied basic transparency about what DHS is doing with your tax dollars. Members of Congress have repeatedly asked for documents and direct answers to straightforward questions about agency authority.

In a House Homeland Security Committee hearing last month, Rep. Mike Ezell (R-MS) asked Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, "What congressional authority does DHS have in the [misinformation, disinformation, and mal-information] space?" Mayorkas dodged the question. Rep. Ezell received a similar non-answer from a DHS assistant secretary in a December hearing.

A DHS Fact Sheet defending the creation of the Disinfo Board from May 2, 2022, said, "the Department has renewed its commitment to transparency and openness with the public and Congress."

Much like the name "Disinformation Governance Board," these claims of commitment to transparency are Orwellian doublespeak. Last month, Jankowicz and Álvarez-Aranyos sent a letter to Congress demanding they release their work on disinformation, while, at the same time, Jankowicz’s former colleagues at DHS refuse to do so, despite being legally obligated to, unlike Congress.

Jankowicz and her former government employer have an interest in making sure the records showing what they did with the Disinfo Board never see the light of day. DHS will continue stonewalling unless a federal court orders them to follow the law, and we won’t stop until they provide transparency about its authorities and actions that threaten free speech.

Peru Declaring Transgenderism a Mental Illness
[Breitbart] The government of Peru signed a Supreme Decree this weekend defining transexuality as a mental disorder as part of an update to the nation’s Essential Health Insurance Plan (PEAS), prompting outrage from the LGBTQIAP2S+ community.

While the definition, according to the Peruvian government, seeks to give access to those identifying as transgender or other gender identities to health insurance coverage, the decree has been met with fierce backlash by local LGBTQIAP2S+ activists and politicians.

The PEAS is a minimum healthcare benefit plan that Peruvian citizens receive when enrolling in the nation’s public, private, or mixed health insurance providers. PEAS provides for the basic medical procedures a citizen needs and contains a detailed list of outpatient medical care, tests, specialized consultations, and other treatments that patients may be entitled to according to their particular health condition.

The controversial decree stated that, following a review of the diagnoses included in the World Health Organization’s (W.H.O.) 10th International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) that are included in the country’s PEAS health program, the omission of "seven (07) ICD-10 diagnoses" related to mental health problems were found, which, according to the decree, "should be incorporated" into the nation’s healthcare plans taking into account Peru’s mental health laws.

Former Obama Campaign Official and Her Wife Killed in Horrific Car Accident
[Gateway] Tragedy struck as a former Obama campaign worker, and her wife lost their lives in a horrific car accident in California last week.

NBC Bay Area news reported Monday that Peggy Moore and her wife Hope Wood were killed while riding along in the Jeep pickup when it collided with a Chrysler sedan in rural San Diego County at about 11:15 p.m. Friday. The 60-year-old driver of the Jeep, along with the Chrysler’s driver, were also killed.

One passenger in the Jeep managed to survive the accident.

The medical examiner at the scene only identified Wood, 48, but a Facebook post on Sunday by the East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club revealed they died together in the crash. The 60-year-old Moore previously served as the president of the club.

"We at East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club are devastated to hear of the passing of our past President Peggy Moore and her wife, Hope Wood. Moore was a force of change in Oakland and the East Bay," the post read.

IDF tanks kill 5, injure 7 in Gaza friendly fire accident
[Jpost] On Wednesday, a friendly fire incident occurred in Jabalya, involving two IDF tanks firing on a forward IDF battalion headquarters, resulting in casualties.

Two IDF tanks killed five IDF soldiers and injured seven more in a friendly fire incident on Wednesday when they fired on a forward IDF battalion headquarters in Jabalya in northern Gaza. The IDF cleared for publication on Thursday.

The tanks were said to be under extreme pressure from dozens of rocket-propelled grenade attacks in the area.

All openings to the tanks, including the canopy on the top, were ordered to be kept closed to avoid any hole or vulnerability to the RPG attacks.

This, in turn, limited the tank's visibility.

IDF TANK INCIDENT
Tank Unit 202 is a Haredi-integrated unit, and the soldiers said that they saw a potential threat emerge from the battalion headquarters, which was only 10-20 meters away from them.

It was unclear why they did not recognize the battalion headquarters. However, the IDF said that the tanks had taken over the junction in Jabalya around 9:00 am and that the Battalion headquarters deputy commander had only arrived many hours later.

The incident itself took place in the early evening on Wednesday.

NAMES OF THE FIVE SOLDIERS KILLED
The IDF released on Thursday the names of the five soldiers who were killed in the friendly fire attack in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday:

Sergeant Roy Beit Yaakov, 22, from Eli, was a combat officer in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

Sergeant Daniel Chemu, 20, from Tiberias, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

Sergeant Ilan Cohen, 20, from Karmiel, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

Staff Sergeant Gilad Arye Boim, 22, from Karnei Shomron, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

Staff Sergeant Betzlel David Shashuah, 21, from Tel Aviv, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

148 House Democrats vote against bill to deport migrants who assault police
[FoxNews] House passes Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act.
A nice gesture that made the Democrats and wobbly others take a position on something voters care about, but it won’t get anywhere in the Senate. Still, All they have to do is submit it exactly as written, should the new Senate be controlled by the Republicans.
A bill aimed at booting illegal immigrants out of the U.S. if they assault a police officer passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday evening.

It's one of several pieces of legislation that House Republican leaders are putting up for a vote this week as part of National Police Week.

The bill passed with a 265 to 148 vote, with 54 Democrats voting with the GOP.

The bill is called the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act and is led by Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J.

He said in February when the bill was being introduced, "There is no reason that an illegal alien who attacks our law enforcement should remain in our country; that shows zero respect for our rule of law or our institutions, and they will not be positive contributors to society."

The bill would require illegal immigrants to be detained by federal authorities until they can be deported. It would also "create a new category for migrant inadmissibility" specifically dealing with illegal immigrants who were accused of assaulting police, Van Drew said.

The No. 3 House Republican, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., told Fox News Digital when the bill passed, "House Democrats just voted to protect violent illegal immigrants over our brave law enforcement officers. Once again, the Democrat Party proves they are the most anti-law enforcement party in history."

It comes after several recent instances of illegal immigrants attacking police have gained national attention as the country continues to grapple with the ongoing illegal immigration crisis at the southern border.

Putin says he does not plan changes in the structure of the Russian General Staff
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

I guess that means that Surovikin is still in Putin's dog house.

[Regnum] There are no changes in the structure of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and are not planned. President Vladimir Putin announced this on May 15at a meeting with the commanders of military districts.

“As for the General Staff itself and the entire structure that ensures combat work, there are no changes here and are not planned. I want this to be clear to everyone,” the head of state emphasized.

He added that the block of combat work that has developed is functioning rhythmically and is operating successfully.

As Regnum reported, on May 12, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov will continue to hold his post. According to him, no changes are envisaged in relation to Gerasimov.

On May 12, Putin, by decree, dismissed Sergei Shoigu from the post of acting Minister of Defense and appointed him to the post of Secretary of the Security Council.

The president proposed appointing Andrei Belousov, the former first deputy prime minister, as defense minister. The head of state signed the decree on his appointment on May 14.

Two worlds, two 'cancellations'. What do Kim Kardashian and Andrei Makarevich have in common?

[REGNUM] After the start of the SVO, it became clear that most of our “cultural elite” turned out to be not ours at all - the stars chose not only to refrain from “supporting the war”, but also began to speak out against it. First, simply against “aggression” and Putin, then against the country, and some against the “terrible people.” Many A-list stars—young and old, actors and singers, Soviet-era idols and social media role models—simply left the country. Others have laid low and remained silent, refraining from outrage to avoid falling into “cancel culture.”
Andrei Makarevich is an elderly Russian — previously Soviet — rock musician who moved to Israel in 2022 after he turned against Vladimir Putin.
This American invention of recent years has begun to flourish here, too, because ordinary and not-so-citizens began to be publicly indignant at the unpatriotic behavior of their idols. “How can it be that the Motherland gave you everything, and in difficult times you ran away, wishing defeat for your country, or stepped aside and remained silent - this is not good.”

Biden plans executive order to shut down border once crossings reach 4,000 per day
[NYPOST] President Biden is planning executive action that would allow him to shut down the US-Mexico border once the number of migrant crossings reaches 4,000 per day, a source close to the White House told The Post Wednesday.

The order would match a provision in the bipartisan border bill that failed to pass the Senate in February, which gave the president authority to expel migrants colonists when border crossings reached the same daily average.

The legislative proposal would have given the homeland security secretary discretionary authority to carry out removals — but would have made deportations mandatory when illegal entries surpassed 5,000 per day over a one-week period.

The bill allowed for the suspension of that authority two weeks after the seven-day average falls to 75% of those levels.

The highest class X flare occurred on May 14 on the Sun
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The highest class X flare occurred on the Sun, the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IGG) reported.

As stated on the institution’s website, it was recorded at 05:09 Moscow time. The flash lasted 16 minutes. It was accompanied by a disruption of HF radio communications.

The outbreak was classified as a level X1.7 event. The observation showed that the level of danger is at level S2 (moderate) on a scale of five indicators.

As Regnum reported, on May 10 it became known that a magnetic storm of the fifth, highest level was observed on Earth for the first time in the last 20 years. From May 7 to May 9, the Sun ejected four clouds of plasma of exceptional size towards the planet.

On May 10, specialists recorded four outbreaks within 24 hours. On the night of May 11, the second strongest flare in seven years was recorded on the Sun, classified as an X5.8 event.

Director of the Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation named after. Pushkova RAS (IZMIRAN) Vladimir Kuznetsov, in a conversation with Regnum news agency, said that the sun is now at the peak of its activity, but there is no need to be afraid of magnetic storms.

According to him, during the solar cycle (about 11 years of solar activity), the Earth experiences approximately 600 magnetic storms. At the same time, the expert called for taking into account the impact on people and technical systems on the planet and in space.

Police on UC Irvine campus after anti-Israel agitators swarm buildings; students told to 'leave area'
[FoxNews] After hundreds of anti-Israel protesters swarmed campus buildings and set up barricades at the University of California, Irvine, local law enforcement agencies responded and students were ordered to leave immediately on Wednesday.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a UC Irvine spokesperson said that the campus erupted into chaos after several hundreds of protesters entered the Physical Sciences Lecture Hall on the California campus and began to barricade the building at 2:30 p.m. PST.

The university said that it put out a call to local law enforcement and received immediate assistance from the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Sheriff's Department.

In livestream footage of the anti-Israel agitators' confrontation with police, at least one protester was arrested.

In a follow-up statement, students were told to "leave area" as the protest continued.

"Anyone currently in buildings in the vicinity of the protest are advised to exit buildings & leave area at this time," UC Irvine said in a statement. "Please disregard all previous orders to shelter in place. If able, please leave immediately & continue to avoid the protest area until further notice."

Footage from the campus showed law enforcement, dressed in protest gear and holding batons, clashing with anti-Israel agitators.

The protesters were seen holding umbrellas and chanting, "free, free Palestine."

Authorities said that the protesters who entered the campus on Wednesday afternoon joined the established encampment that had been occupying the campus since April 29.

Beto Mendez, a UC Irvine student Senator, told Fox News Digital that police are slowly clearing some of the encampments.

"Police are clearing out some encampments, very slowly, there are like five helicopters flying above right now," Mendez said.

The college student said that many of the protesters do not appear to be UC Irvine students, adding that he saw children at the protest.

He added that it was "shocking" that the protests were happening on campus and that school administration is being "very careful and moving slowly."

UC Irvine said that classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day and that they are monitoring the situation.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and strongly urge people to stay away from the campus," the school said.

In an update on Wednesday night, UC Irvine said that classes would be fully remote on Thursday, noting that protests continued into the evening.

"UC Irvine will move to remote instruction on Thursday, May 16," the university announced. "Unless specifically noted, all employees should work remotely. Resident students may still access dining facilities. Protest activity continues. Please avoid the area until further notice."

In a statement on X, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said that any violence or vandalism "of any kind" would not be "tolerated."

"The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is continuing to work with law enforcement to monitor all protest-related activity in Orange County, including today’s protest at the University of California, Irvine," Spitzer wrote in a X post.

"The right to peaceful assembly is a constitutional right, and we encourage protesters to exercise their right to peaceful assembly; however, criminal activity which transcends peaceful assembly, including violence and vandalism of any kind, will not be tolerated," he said.

"Any evidence of criminal activity, including failure to obey lawful orders to disperse, will be investigated and thoroughly reviewed to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime was committed," Spitzer said.

[AFRICANEWS] Former President Ali Bongo of Gabon and his two youngest sons, Jalil and Bilal, have started a hunger strike to protest their "sequestration" and alleged "acts of torture" against family members. Their lawyers announced this on May 14, stating a lawsuit has been filed in the Gay Paree Judicial Court.

Lawyers Francois Zimeray and Catalina de la Sota aim to have a French judge investigate these allegations, especially as Gabon's leader since the August 2023 coup, General Brice Oligui Nguema, plans to visit Gay Paree soon.

An earlier complaint by Ali Bongo’s wife, Sylvia Bongo, filed on September 1, two days after the coup, was dismissed in October. The new complaint alleges "illegal arrest, aggravated sequestration with torture, and barbaric acts" against Ali, Sylvia, and their sons Noureddin, Jalil, and Bilal, noting that the first four are Frenchies.

The lawyers claim Noureddin has been tortured multiple times, and Sylvia was beaten and forced to witness these acts. Ali, Jalil, and Bilal are under house arrest, deprived of communication, and also tortured.

In March, the lawyers requested a UN working group to recognize the Bongos' "arbitrary detention" post-coup. General Nguema, who ended 55 years of the Bongo dynasty, was declared transitional president by the military shortly after the August 30 coup.

Florida man convicted after admitting to heinous crime during job interview to become a police officer,
[NYPOST] A Florida man, who aspired to become a police officer, admitted to sexually abusing his cousin during a police department job interview and now faces life in prison.

Stephen Bodley, 26, was convicted by an Orange County jury last week of sexual battery on a child, the office of State Attorney Andrew Bain said in a news release.

Bodley first mentioned "playing sexual games" in a sworn officer application with the Apopka Police Department.

He again mentioned the crime during an interview.

"The certified voice stress analysis examiner performed a voice stress examination on Bodley," Bain said.

"During the examination, the examiner asked Bodley to expand on concerning answers he provided in a pre-test questionnaire."

Bodley described sexually abusing a child years ago and admitted to it when he was asked to expand further.

Detectives tracked down the victim’s mother, who said Bodley and the victim had a close relationship, the Tampa Bay Times reported, citing an affidavit.

Fox News Digital has reached out to prosecutors.

The victim, a female, told the Florida Department of Children and Families about the abuse, saying it took place over several years, from when Bodley was around 14 to when he was about 19, the newspaper reported.

Biden takes another victory lap on inflation that Americans won't buy
[NYPOST] On Wednesday, the latest Consumer Price Index report showed that inflation slowed slightly in April but prices continued to rise nearly 4% for the year.

President Biden took his 23rd victory lap on this issue, proclaiming that "fighting inflation and lowering costs is my top economic priority."

But how should people judge a victory proclamation by a general that had pointlessly lost 20% of his army — the amount of purchasing power the dollar has declined since he took office?

Team Biden is pretending that the nation — and Biden’s re-election campaign — has made it out of the woods.

But the Labor Department reported on Tuesday that the producer price index is rising at a rate of 6% a year, a foreboding omen of future price hikes.

Biden has spawned the highest rate of food inflation since the Nixon administration but he scoffed when a CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
interviewer recently asked him about the 30% rise in grocery prices.

NJ police chief pleads guilty to lying about affair with subordinate
[NYPOST] A disgraced former New Jersey police chief admitted in court Monday to having an affair with a subordinate, then lying about it to a special counsel hired by his town to investigate the rumors — which led the local PBA head to mock him as a "felon" in a courtroom confrontation.

Andrew Kudrick, the 50-year-old former chief of the Howell Police Department, pleaded guilty to an obstruction of justice charge for his crimes, which included denying his rule-breaking extramarital fling in a January 2022 interview with the counsel, according to the Asbury Park Press.

But even though Kudrick — who suddenly retired in March 2022, two years before his contract was up — has fled the department, his former officers haven’t forgiven or forgotten.

Several PBA members reportedly lined the back of the courtroom as their former leader lodged a guilty plea that could land him in jail for more than a year — but will likely just mean probation, the Press said.

"You’re a clown," the salty former chief told James Alexander, the union president, as he left the courtroom.

"But you’re a felon," Alexander shot back, according to the outlet.

Last year, the state Attorney General’s Office hit the former chief with an avalanche of charges stemming from the cover-up, including misconduct, false swearing, tampering with public records, witness tampering and obstruction.

The deal let him plead guilty to obstruction and dropped the other charges, the Press said.

Kudrick will be permanently barred from public employment as a condition of his plea — and could be charged with contempt of court if he even applies for a public job, state Superior Court Judge Paul X. Escandon told him in court.

Cop-attacking migrants get off easy because Bragg, Biden and Dems support lawlessness
Responding to this story from yesterday.
[NYPOST] Incredibly, six of the illegal migrants colonists charged in that vicious Times Square attack on NYPD officers have been offered plea deals. The message: Progressives just don’t care about lawlessness.

That’s right: Illegally enter the country, illegally flee from the border to Gotham, openly assault cops and you’ll get no more than a slap on the wrist.

And you’ll likely get to stay in America, since New York City refuses to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement on handing over illegals who commit crimes.

Three of the migrants colonists face a year — a year! — in prison for their literal assault on law and order.

One, Yohenry Brito, turns out to have been rearrested after a lefty priest bailed him out when he was initially nabbed; Brito then was let walk on the second crime, a Macy’s shoplift attempt.

Two of the vile crew face only six months in prison, despite allegedly being members of Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...

’s feared Tren de Aragua gang.

Worst of all, this is the system working as progs intend.

Remember, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg
...Soros-owned and operated Manhattan DA. Putting vicious and blood-thirsty criminals in jail only makes them unhappy, and they've led such hard lives after all...
dragged his feet on going after the migrant cop-beaters until after they’d left town — moving only when an outraged public began to make noise.

His philosophy means that violent mostly peaceful crooks get infinite free chances, even when they attack cops, and the deck is now so stacked against actual prosecutions that when a few do face any consequences, they’re meaningless consequences.

That the attack was against coppers only amplifies the horror.

New York’s prosecutorial system is signaling that it’s open season on cops.

And the picture is just as grim nationally as well.

The open-borders freaks driving federal immigration policy (or lack thereof) are ideological comrades of the moral morons behind New York’s criminal justice "reforms."

Witness the woke El Paso judge who let off the hook a migrant mob that bum-rushed border fences and guards.

'In familiar places.' How the Russian army is advancing in the Kharkov region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Artmey Sharapov

[REGNUM] Russian troops are developing success in the Kharkov direction. The offensive, which began on May 11, continues on several sectors of the front.

One of the advancing military groups operates in the Glubokoe-Lukyantsy area northeast of Kharkov, the other in the direction of the city of Volchansk. Here the enemy, on the one hand, seeks to establish a defense by transferring fresh units to the front, and on the other, rolls back from the state border between Ukraine and Russia and tries to stabilize the front.

On Wednesday, May 15, units of the Russian group of troops “North” liberated the settlements of Glubokoe and Lukyantsy in the Kharkov region and advanced into the depths of the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A day earlier, the settlement of Bugrovatka was liberated, and even earlier - Gatishche, Krasnoye, Morokhovets and Oleynikovo.

The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, against the backdrop of the advance of Russian troops in the Kharkov region, ordered the postponement of all international visits. Earlier, he called the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov region, especially in Volchansk, bordering Russia, extremely difficult.

In turn, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during a visit to Kiev, said that Washington is discussing with the Ukrainian authorities the issue of deploying Patriot systems in Kharkov. And Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kiev needs seven Patriot batteries.

On May 15, the head of the military-civil administration of the Kharkov region, Vitaly Ganchev, said that the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Svatovsko-Kupyansk direction began to crumble, and the command of the Ukrainian army was forced to pull up units from other directions.

BATTLES FOR VOLCHANSK
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are indeed retreating in the Kharkov region, but one should not think that the Ukrainian command was not ready for combat operations in the region and did not create defensive lines here. It is noteworthy that Ukrainian sources write a lot about this, creating a false picture of reality.

In reality, the situation is different, a source in the Russian Armed Forces, currently located in the Kharkov region, told IA Regnum.

“There are defensive lines. Not as powerful as they said in Kyiv, but they exist. Some of our units have already encountered them, others are yet to do so. The enemy does not flee, but plans to fight. If not here, then a couple of kilometers deep,” the publication’s interlocutor said.

At the same time, in Ukraine, as already noted, panic and statements are spreading that defense in the region was never created, and the money allocated for it was simply stolen. This would seem to be supported by the fact of the rapid advance of Russian troops deep into Ukrainian territory.

But in fact, the Ukrainian command did not plan to fight directly at the state border. Any construction, and especially military-engineering equipment, that would be used in this area would immediately become a target for Russian artillery or drones. Therefore, we can assume that the lines covering Kharkov are located at some distance from the border.

In the meantime, Russian troops have advanced towards the village of Staritsa (east of Volchansk) and into residential areas in the city itself. It is reported that fighting is taking place in the area of a meat processing plant and an abandoned small aircraft airfield.

On the Ukrainian side, the defense in the Volchansk direction is held by formations of the 66th and 77th brigades, formed after the start of the Northern Military District. The 3rd Assault Brigade and units of the notorious neo-Nazi formation “Kraken” (an extremist organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation) were deployed to help them.

According to unconfirmed reports, the defense of Volchansk was entrusted to the transferred units, but difficulties arose in completing the task. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, due to high losses, one of the formations operating in this area was withdrawn from the front. However, some forces continue to hold the line in the central areas of the city.

“One of the difficulties is high-rise buildings in the city center. There are observation posts, sniper posts, and artillery spotters. They don’t let me get closer,” a source told IA Regnum.

But these are temporary difficulties, he explains. In fact, snipers and artillery cover formations leaving the border zone to the south. At the same time, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, even having suffered heavy losses, do not lose coherence and combat readiness. Therefore, there is no need to say that the enemy has been defeated and there is a direct road to Kharkov ahead.

GET EVEN WITH THE MILITANTS
The final goal of the offensive is known only to the command of the Russian army, but it can be assumed that the troops advancing in the area of Volchansk and Lukyantsev should unite.

In the future, the “thin red line” of territory under the control of the Russian army should move west - towards Kupyansk, and east - through Cossack Lopan up to the point where the borders of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus meet.

Once the border along its entire length is taken under control, it will be possible to think about moving “deeper.” At the same time, in the Kharkov region, troops will have to advance in already familiar places.

“It’s a big incentive for many that we can get even properly and recoup. We remember how the Kraken militants committed atrocities in the borderlands, so seeing them in battle is a burning desire for many,” a source told IA Regnum.

The question remains how Russian troops will act next. Perhaps they will remain on new frontiers, depriving the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the opportunity to send sabotage groups into the territory of the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions.

At the same time, the liberation of the border territories also leaves the possibility of a further attack on Kharkov. But the Kharkov urban agglomeration, together with the adjacent settlements, is one of the largest in Ukraine; its encirclement or assault will require the involvement of significantly greater forces and resources.

At the same time, Ukrainian sources say that the operation of the Russian army in the coming days may spread to the state border in the Sumy and Poltava regions. And local authorities even began evacuating the population from the border area.

In turn, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states that to repel the offensive, reserves were transferred to the Kharkov region, which were prepared in winter and spring. But as new breakthroughs occur on the front line, the reserves will be depleted, and then it will be necessary to either withdraw forces from the Donetsk front or put up with a new configuration of the state border.

U.S. sanctions RSF commanders over civilian deaths in Darfur
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The U.S. Department of the Treasury Wednesday imposed sanctions on two commanders of Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for their role in a recent military campaign in North Darfur that has caused civilian casualties and threatened a fragile grinding of the peace processor.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Ali Yagoub Gibril, the RSF Central Darfur commander, and Osman Mohammed Hamid Mohammed, the group’s head of operations. The sanctions freeze any assets they hold within U.S. jurisdiction and prohibit American citizens and companies from doing business with them.

"The RSF’s attacks in North Darfur have endangered nearly one million civilians and impeded access to humanitarian aid," said Under Secretary of the Treasury Brian Nelson. "These sanctions target individuals who are undermining peace efforts and further perpetuating the conflict in Sudan."

The U.S. administration had previously sanctioned the RSF itself and its deputy commander in 2023 for human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
abuses. Today’s action highlights the ongoing concerns about the paramilitary group’s activities in Darfur.

Escalating violence and humanitarian concerns

The RSF’s offensive in North Darfur began last month and included the encirclement of the region’s capital, El Fasher. This escalation in violence has displaced thousands of civilians and increased fears of mass atrocities.

The Treasury Department emphasizes Gibril and Mohammed’s critical roles in the RSF’s operations. Gibril commands troops surrounding El Fasher, the last major government-held city in Darfur, and Mohammed, as head of operations, plays a key role in planning RSF actions.

The United States is committed to supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sudan. These sanctions aim to pressure the RSF leadership to stop their offensive in Darfur and encourage a return to dialogue.

NY Sen. Kevin Parker has to be restrained after he flips out and shoves lobbyist out of committee room
[NYPOST] State Sen. Kevin Parker had to be restrained by onlookers after he shoved a man out of a committee room, The Post has learned.

Sources say Michael Carey, an Albany lobbyist, was having an impassioned conversation with Parker before the Energy and Telecommunications Committee meeting Wednesday when the senator grabbed Carey by the chest and pushed him out of the room.

A spokesperson for the New York State Police told The Post it’s investigating the altercation.

Security personnel with the Senate sergeant-at-arms and state police quickly responded to the committee room on the first floor of the state Capitol.

Neither man has been charged.

A spokesperson for Parker didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Wednesday’s Capitol dust up is the latest in Parker’s long line of violent mostly peaceful incidents.

In 2005, Parker slugged a traffic cop who was writing him a ticket earning him misdemeanor assault charges. A few years later the pol attacked a Post photographer and smashed his camera as he was trying to snap pics of Parker outside his Brooklyn home.

A woman is also accusing Parker of raping her in 2004 in a lawsuit being brought under the Adult Survivors Act. Parker denies those charges and now argues the ASA is unconstitutional even though he voted for it.

A spokesperson for state Senate Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
declined to comment on Wednesday’s altercation.

Rock n' roll on the ruins. Blinken came to reformat the Ukrainian government
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Malek Dudakov

[REGNUM] US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Kiev. This is his first visit to Ukraine in more than eight months - since September 2023. The war in the Middle East just started in October. And from that moment on, the State Department's focus shifted to Israel.

Blinken, along with his apparatchiks, began to constantly drive between Israel, Qatar and Egypt. He managed to visit Israel alone seven times in six months. And only now - at the end of spring 2024 - I got to Kyiv.

In September 2023, he came to Ukraine immediately after the failure of the much-publicized summer “counter-offensive.”

At the same time, the conflict between Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev escalated, and the Secretary of State promised to knock out new tranches in Congress, and also had dinner at McDonald’s in Kiev with Dmitry Kuleba. However, the tranches were agreed upon only eight months later. Well, the situation at the front for Ukraine began to steadily deteriorate.

Ukraine's last friend. Corruption and clan warfare brought Blinken to Kyiv
This visit took place in a much more difficult situation.

The Russian army was able to achieve significant successes during the offensive in the Donbass, with the capture of Ocheretino and nearby villages. An offensive operation also began in the Kharkov region with a multi-kilometer breakthrough of the Ukrainian front. Militants from the terrorist defense and national battalions are surrendering en masse - and right at the time of Blinken’s negotiations in Kyiv, reports came that Russia had liberated Volchansk, and with it a number of other settlements.

Against this background, the contradictions between Washington and the authorities in Kyiv in the person of Zelensky’s Office are intensifying.

Since last year, the Americans have been demanding that Zelensky and his “gray eminence” Andrei Yermak hold elections. But they refused to announce both the presidential and parliamentary elections. Now there is a struggle to reformat the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers. The Biden administration wants to push through the appointment of Oksana Markarova, Ukraine's ambassador to the United States and a creature of the Americans, to the post of Prime Minister.

This is strongly opposed by the British lobby, which Zelensky and Ermak are focusing on.

They want to make Ermak the prime minister and entrust all management decisions to him. Zelensky, in any of these scenarios, turns into a “wedding president” with zero legitimacy after May 21. He will receive all the negativity addressed to him for failures at the front and the crisis inside Ukraine, but at the same time he will lose the opportunity to decide anything.

The issue of further financing of the Ukrainian project stands apart.

Now Penny Pritzker, a representative of an influential clan of American billionaires, has become active in Kiev. Her ancestors themselves were from the Kyiv province. She is de facto the main “oversight” from the United States over the expenditure of funds for the needs of the Kyiv regime. Pritzker's influence only increased with the start of the allocation of tranches to Ukraine after a long delay.

And in Kyiv, squabbling is intensifying over failures in the Kharkov region.

After all, billions of hryvnias were spent there on the construction of fortifications that simply did not exist. The office of the president and his entourage, as well as the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are openly accused of corruption. And then the US Accounts Chamber notes the non-transparent spending of funds in the Ukrainian direction.

Issues of corruption can be effectively used as leverage on Zelensky.

It is significant that in addition to Blinken, Alex Soros, heir to his father’s vast empire, also came to Kiev. After all, his guards—the so-called “Soros”—are now waging an open war with Zelensky. They also picked up the anti-corruption agenda. And at the same time they demand to end the endless “telethon” on Ukrainian TV, so that they can criticize Zelensky and Ermak from TV screens.

At the same time, the British are also becoming active, who do not want to lose their proteges in Kyiv in leadership positions.

David Cameron and Grant Shapps recently came to Ukraine. And now David Lammy, a candidate for the post of head of the Foreign Office in the next Labor government, which will come to power this autumn, has also visited Kiev. They are already building relationships with Ukrainian politicians in advance so that the transit of power in London does not affect the balance of power in Kyiv.

Well, Blinken, along with attempts to reformat Ukrainian politics to suit himself, promised to increase arms supplies as a “carrot”. But only by July, although by that time the Ukrainian front may collapse in different directions.

Blinken demands that mobilization be strengthened in every possible way to replenish reserves, which Kyiv is sorely lacking. So no one has yet canceled the concept of war until the last Ukrainian.

However, the strangest thing was the performance of the American guest with the song Rocking in the Free World by Neil Young in 1989.

Blinken is known for his amateur involvement in rock music. But his guitar playing in Kyiv - while Ukraine is losing on all fronts - reminded many in America of the behavior of some Nero watching Rome burn.

Moreover, this composition itself only at first glance seems to be a hymn to American patriotism.

In fact, it is a subtle irony of the militarism of the United States during the late Cold War era and George H. W. Bush. He then called on America to become a kinder nation. Well, Young in his song stated that the United States has only a “good” hand, firing a machine gun in all directions.

Subsequently, Rocking in the Free World became one of the songs associated with the fall of the socialist bloc in Eastern Europe. This is probably why Blinken sang it in Kyiv. But for Ukraine, the original meaning of the song is rather closer, because it became the platform for experiments of current American militarism.

However, it is quite possible that the head of the State Department is no longer particularly shy.

After all, in any case, he is a downed pilot in the configuration of American power.

Over the past six months, the Secretary of State has resoundingly failed negotiations between Israel and Qatar to suspend the war in the Gaza Strip. He had a very unsuccessful trip to China. Blinken is an almost guaranteed candidate to leave office. Moreover, in any scenario of elections in the United States.

If Donald Trump wins, he will make one of his advisers, like Richard Grenell, the former US ambassador to Germany, secretary of state. If Joe Biden is re-elected, he will most likely replace the current head with Bill Burns, director of the CIA. He has been eyeing a new position for a long time. And Burns himself is a stronger apparatchik than a lover of rock and roll.

Therefore, his current visits are quite likely his last.

Blinken is finally turning into a lame duck. And they will try to make him the last one for all the failures of the Biden team - both in the Middle East and in Ukraine. Although Biden himself will not be able to avoid the blow - especially if the Afghan scenario is repeated in Ukraine with the collapse of the front on the very eve of the November elections in the United States.

Hezbollah says struck Israel after field commander's killing
Yes, yes — but were they effective strikes? I think not.

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? Hezbollah fighters on Wednesday attacked "the Meron base with dozens of Katyusha rockets, heavy rockets and artillery shells" as well as targeting a barrack with "heavy rockets," the group said.

The attacks were "part of the response to the liquidation carried out by the Israeli enemy in the south" the previous day, it said.

Israel’s army said sirens sounded in Meron on Wednesday without providing further details.

Battles for Volchansk. Russian offensive intensifies
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The situation in the Khar'kov region is getting worse.

President Zelensky says that during the day the Ukrainian military managed to “partially stabilize” the situation in the Khar'kov region, where Russian troops have intensified their offensive.

In the Khar'kov region, fighting continues near the border with Russia. The Russian army has entered the city of Volchansk, 4 km from the border, and is trying to advance in another direction - towards the village of Liptsy. President Vladimir Zelensky canceled planned visits to Portugal and Spain due to the difficult situation at the front

INTENSIFYING THE OFFENSIVE
As a result of the attack on the Khar'kov region, which began on May 10 from the Belgorod region, Russian troops managed to occupy a dozen border villages. Russian troops entered the territory of Volchansk from the north and are bypassing the city from the east, wrote military expert for the German publication Bild Julian Röpke. According to him, near Volchansk Russia captured the villages of Pletenevka, Ogurtsovo, Gatishche and Bugrovatka, and at the same time was advancing on Liptsy, but was storming only with infantry.

The police said that Russian occupiers are occupying positions in Volchansk.

“We are evacuating people, helping everyone. The situation in Volchansk is extremely difficult. The enemy takes up positions on the city streets. So people, please evacuate. We help everyone,” said Alexey Kharkovsky, chief patrolman of the Volchansky police department.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian forces managed to partially oust Russian troops from Volchansk. Later, the General Staff added that Russian troops are trying to push out Ukrainian units in the Volchansk area. The defense forces are fighting back.

“Khar'kov region - areas near the border, the city of Volchansk - our protective actions continue. During this day, our Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces - all units involved - managed to partially stabilize the situation. The occupier who entered the Khar'kov region is destroyed by all means. Artillery, drones, our infantry work quite accurately,” President Zelensky said.

SERIOUS THREAT
During the first five days of the offensive, Russia managed to create two separate bridgeheads on Ukrainian territory and advance five to seven kilometers deep into the country. These modest successes reflect the relatively small number of Russian troops involved in the initial invasion. However, according to analysts, the situation may change in the coming days as the Russians deploy more forces in this direction.

The New York Times writes that there is a growing feeling within the Biden administration that the next few months could be critical.

WHY DID YOU GET IN SO EASILY?
A new Russian attack on the Khar'kov region had long been expected, but the apparent ease with which Russian troops were able to penetrate the Ukrainian border has sparked widespread public concern and accusations of security lapses.

It’s just that these disputes overlook the fact that fortifications are usually located about 15-20 kilometers behind the forward positions.

The statements of the commander of the Ukrainian reconnaissance company fighting in this direction, Denis Yaroslavsky, received great resonance, who said that the first line of defense near Volchansk allegedly “simply did not exist” and the Russians “went in on foot.”

In early April, amid rumors about the threat of an attack on the Khar'kov region, President Vladimir Zelensky visited the region. Together with the head of the Khar'kov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, he inspected the defensive lines.

“We must be prepared. And the Russians must see that we are ready to defend ourselves. And so that our people understand that Ukraine is prepared if the enemy tries to attack,” Zelensky emphasized then.

Chairman of the Khar'kov Regional State Administration Oleg Sinegubov calls statements about inadequate preparation of defensive structures in the region an enemy information campaign.

“Since last week, various messages have been circulated: either about the lack of power in the region, then about the capture of Volchansk, then about the alleged repair of roads to Volchansk for almost 400 million UAH, then about the lack of fortifications, and so on. All these materials were published at approximately the same time, with the same headlines,” says Sinegubov.

He noted that this is an IPSO whose goal is to discredit the military, the Ukrainian government and spread hostility among citizens.

Scenes From a Global Struggle
[DiscourseMag] A fierce political conflict is raging over much of the democratic world. On one side we find the normies: ordinary people who defend, naively, the historic principles of democracy such as freedom of speech and assembly, the separation of powers, etc.
What used to be called the silent majority. Normies is so much more pejorative…
On the other side stand the elites, masters of the great institutions of wealth, knowledge and power, who insist that extraordinary measures must be taken to save a depraved and self-destructive society from its own history and its own people—that is to say, from the normies.

The elites are driven entirely by the impulse to control. They detest democracy, which keeps getting in their way, and much prefer a golden ideal they possessively call "Our Democracy"—their own rule in perpetuity. Individual rights are unfortunate legacies from a simpler era. The First Amendment, for example, they see as "hamstringing the government in significant ways." By the way, that was Ketanji Brown Jackson talking, a Supreme Court justice whose job it is to defend the Constitution. Freedom of speech does hamstring government, that’s perfectly true—but only to the elites (who hate the sound of normie voices) is it a bad thing.

What is the conflict about?

The normies want to get on with life. They want to work, get married, have children—boring stuff. That’s what normal means.

The elites, for their part, wish to change everything: sex, the climate, our history, your automobile, your diet, even the straws with which you slurp your smoothie. For them there is no good and evil, no right and wrong—only oppressors and oppressed. Every transaction demands their intervention to protect designated oppressed groups. "Social justice" translates neatly into "elite control."

The normies, by their very nature a disorganized crowd, fight back by pouring into the streets in frighteningly large numbers and electing politicians loathed by the elites, like Donald Trump in the U.S. and Javier Milei in Argentina. The elites, as creatures of hierarchy, are hyperorganized, and can summon to their side the established political parties, the national and transnational bureaucracies and the activist class. They can get you from above—with government mandates—or from below—with the sloganeering mob—and would seem, therefore, to have all the advantages. Yet the conflict rolls on around the world, undecided, and it’s the elites, it seems to me, who have that frightened, desperate look.

THE JEW AS A STAND-IN FOR THE NORMIES
Details of the outbreak of anti-semitism after Oct 7. And the reasons are:
...Who are the protesters—and in what sense can they be said to reflect elite opinion? The majority are young herd animals, morally neutered to repeat whatever slogans are fed to them by their generational commissars. Like every decadent class, our elites value leadership and courage much less than conformity. As for the activists, they know little and care less about Palestine or Israel. They belong to the "anti-capitalist" progressive left, which provides the ideological lever with which the elites hope to move the world, and they fully expect that, after being schooled in righteous protest, they will ascend to the positions of power which their parents currently inhabit. Those arrested during the protests are now demanding "amnesty," so their future careers will not be damaged.

There’s an unbearable lightness to these people, but their hatred of traditional society may be accepted as sincere. The Jew, the eternal Other, they take to be the foulest product of that society: a supercapitalist and hypernormie. He must be put in his place. Anyone with a sense of history can only wonder how many times before this tawdry script has played out.

THE SILENCE OF THE NORMIES

'It's your job!' Who is accused in Slovakia of attacking Prime Minister Fico?
Follow-up to this story from yesterday.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleg Khavich

[REGNUM] "Robo, come here!" - these were the last words that Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico heard after a visiting meeting of the country’s government in the town of Handlova. It took place in the city house of culture, and after the meeting the prime minister came out to the people who stood nearby to shake their hands. At this time, according to various testimonies, from three to five shots were fired.

Fico was wounded in the chest and abdomen. He started to fall, security grabbed him and put him in the car. According to Slovak media reports, the prime minister was sent first to a local hospital, and then by ambulance helicopter to the Roosevelt Hospital in Banska Bystrica.

The shooter was detained by security and police; he turned out to be a 71-year-old native of the Slovak city of Levice. The publication Denník N claims that the pistol from which the shots were fired was in legal possession.

Reports emerged that the person in question was Juraj Cintul, 71, a member of the Union of Slovak Writers and founder of the DÚHA literary club in Levice.
Later, reports emerged that the person in question was Juraj Cintul, a member of the Union of Slovak Writers and founder of the DÚHA literary club in Levice. Tsintula is the author of the novel “The Victim’s Message,” the story about the gypsies “Efata,” and three collections of poetry. One of the poems talks about the author's victory over death.
Not a terribly successful author, one assumes, described elsewhere on the internet by the dreaded provincial
The first confession of the attacker has already been published. The elderly writer explained his actions this way: “I do not agree with the policy of the authorities, who have eliminated the independence of the mass media.”

According to the portal Pravda. sk, the attacker was walking near the cultural center, and when the prime minister came out, the man approached the crowd and suddenly shot Fico almost point-blank.

According to the source of the Pluska portal. sk, Prime Minister Fico's condition is very serious. “He was wounded in the stomach and arm. But at present his life is not in danger. They are going to operate on him,” the source said. Reuters, citing a hospital representative, reported that the Slovak Prime Minister was conscious upon arrival at the hospital, he was treated and his condition was stabilized.

Having announced the assassination attempt on Robert Fico, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Lubos Blaga, an ally of the prime minister in the Smer-SD party, closed the meeting for an indefinite period. After this, dissatisfied cries from the opposition were heard, to which Blaga meaningfully replied: “This is your job!”

At the moment, possible developments in the event that Fico does not survive are not publicly discussed in Slovakia. The media are discussing who will become acting prime minister in the event that the head of government himself becomes incapacitated for a long time. By law, this must be one of the deputy prime ministers, whose appointment is decided by the prime minister.

There are four deputy prime ministers in the Slovak government. One of them is Defense Secretary Robert Kaliniak. Since Kalinyak belongs to the same party as Fico, most likely he will be the acting head of government.

Robert Fico's coalition partner, the elected President of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini (Hlas-SD party), said that the assassination attempt on the Prime Minister constituted a threat to everything that adorned Slovak democracy. “ I am shocked at what hatred of other political views can lead to. We don't have to agree with everything, but there are many ways to express our disagreement in a democratic and legal way,” he said.

Pellegrini called the attack an unprecedented threat to Slovak democracy.

“ If we express other political views with weapons in squares and not in polling stations, we will jeopardize everything that we have built together during 31 years of Slovak sovereignty,” said the politician, who is due to take office as President of Slovakia on June 15 and Now he is urgently returning from abroad.

The leader of another political force included in the ruling coalition, Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party, SNS), said that what happened was the beginning of a “political war.” He said changes would inevitably follow in the attitude of the media and politicians of the former government. “I want to tell the opposition to shut up and respect the election results,” Danko said, adding that SNS supports Robert Fico.

And his party colleague, Deputy Prime Minister Tomas Taraba, wrote on social networks that “ the entire opposition has blood on its hands.”

In turn, all the leaders of the country's opposition parties condemned the assassination attempt and wished Robert Fico a speedy recovery. In particular, ex-presidential candidate of Slovakia from the pro-Western opposition, Ivan Korcok, called the attack on the prime minister an unacceptable act of violence and called for restraint until this act is investigated.

The Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia also condemned the assassination attempt on Robert Fico. “Violence has no place in our society,” his statement said. It noted that " this horrific act represents an attack not only on individuals, but also on our democratic values and principles."

Let us remember that Fico was previously subjected to sharp criticism from Brussels for his allegedly “pro-Russian” position.

It consisted, in the opinion of European bureaucrats, of consistent support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. The Slovak head of government negatively assessed the position of the European Union on this issue; in his opinion, the EU was unable to come up with a peace initiative.

“ Peace must be at the top of the European agenda, because the EU was created as a peace project,” he noted in particular on May 2 at the conference “20 years of Slovakia’s membership in the EU - challenges and opportunities.”

Other words of the politician in the context of what happened look like an ominous prophecy.

Following the victory of his ally in the presidential election, who beat the pro-Western candidate in a bitter struggle, Robert Fico said that in the near future he expects Brussels to “revenge Korczok’s defeat.”

At the same time, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also condemned the “dastardly attack” on the Slovak prime minister. “ I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on Prime Minister Robert Fico. Such acts of violence have no place in our society and undermine democracy, our most valuable common asset. My thoughts are with Prime Minister Fico and his family,” she wrote on the X* platform.

Leaders of other European countries and international organizations also condemned the attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister of Slovakia.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was one of the first to react to the assassination attempt. “I am deeply shocked by the horrific attack on my friend, Prime Minister Robert Fico,” the Hungarian leader wrote in X*, stressing that he “prays for his health and a speedy recovery.” In retweets to this publication, Ukrainian users left characteristic comments: “You’re next!”

A source from the Serbian publication Vecernje Novosti reported that Orban and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic may visit the wounded Slovak prime minister in the “next two or three days. ”

In an emergency address to the people, the current President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová repeated the formulation of the EC representation that “this is an attack on the individual, but also an attack on democrac,” and called on people not to make hasty conclusions and to stop the “ rhetoric of hatred.” She noted that the police had arrested the criminal and would report this soon, and wished the Prime Minister a speedy recovery.

So far, the main version of what happened is that it was the result of a wave of hatred that the current opposition has been whipping up against Fico since the parliamentary campaign last year.

He was accused of all the deadly sins - working for the Kremlin, connections with the mafia, involvement in the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak, corruption... Now these attacks have intensified again in connection with the elections to the European Parliament, scheduled for early June.

“This is the culmination of those sentiments that are cultivated in society. This is a manifestation of hatred, an attack not only on a person, but also an attack on the prime minister, as well as an attack on the very essence of statehood,” said Slovakia’s Prosecutor General Maros Zilinka. Law enforcement agencies will respond to the assassination attempt uncompromisingly and will take all actions to ensure that the culprit is uncompromisingly and fairly punished, the Prosecutor General said on social media.

A similar opinion is shared by security expert and former director of the Office for the Protection of Officials and Diplomatic Missions Juraj Zabojnik.

“Society is polarized and there are people full of hatred,” he added. However, he said the attack could have had “several reasons,” but did not specify them.

Official Moscow paused after the first reports of the assassination attempt. This is not surprising, given the unfounded accusations of the Slovak prime minister of being “pro-Russian” - the Kremlin does not want to create additional problems for one of the few adequate European politicians.

Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to the President of Slovakia in which he asked to convey to Fico “words of the most sincere support, as well as wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.”

The Russian expert community speaks out much less diplomatically.

Philosopher Alexander Dugin wrote on his Telegram channel that “the assassination attempt on Fico is another blow from the West against those who dare to object to him.” According to a man whose family became a victim of terror, “not only the Kyiv Nazis, but also the modern globalist West itself is a terrorist organization that does not know any rules.” In this regard, Dugin believes that “ Russia should offer assistance to the Slovaks in investigating this disgusting crime, and perhaps in retribution. How can little Slovakia respond to globalist terror?! But we can."

In turn, Russian publicist Sergei Mardan believes that the current assassination attempt is a real shot at Sarajevo. “ Anything can happen next, even nuclear escalation, ” he noted on Telegram. And although Juraj Cintula is nothing like Gavrilo Princip, and Robert Fico is nothing like Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the spiral of European history is often very unusual.
The New York Post adds:
Tense footage captured the moment the gunman who attempted to assassinate Slovakia’s prime minister was tackled to the ground and detained by police — as it was revealed the shooting was "politically motivated."

The video, obtained by the Guardian, showed a frantic crowd mobbing an individual moments after Prime Minister Robert Fico was struck with at least one slug to the stomach on Wednesday afternoon.

Slovakia’s interior minister Matúš Šutaj-Eštok later in the day said the shooting was "politically motivated" after the country’s recent presidential election. Fico was shot five times, officials said.

The attack left Fico in "extraordinarily serious" condition and "fighting for his life," Slovakian defense minister Robert Kaliňák said in a presser hours after the shooting, the Guardian reported.

"We do not have good news at the moment and we put our hope in the hands of the medical specialists at the hospital," he said, adding the prime minister’s "health is serious, his situation is bad."

Fico remained in surgery three and a half hours after first going under the knife, Kaliňák said.

Fico’s official Facebook page called the shooting an liquidation attempt.

The shooting happened in the town of Handlova, about 90 miles northeast of the capital Bratislava, where Fico was meeting with supporters.

Video also showed guards carrying a seriously injured Fico, 59, into a black government car, which then sped off.

"At this moment he is transported by helicopter to Banská Bystrica, because it would take too long to get to Bratislava due to the necessity of an acute procedure. The next few hours will decide," the Facebook post said.

Photos from the scene showed a white middle-aged man and a bloodied head being detained by police.

It was unclear what motivated the shooting.

A staunch conservative, Fico was elected to his third term as prime minister in September after campaigning with a pro-Russian and anti-American stance.

In Slovakia, the prime minister is the most powerful office. Numerous demonstrations have been staged in Bratislava in protest of Fico’s policies since his election.

Despite the tensions, Fico’s opponents in government condemned the shooting, and even canceled a planned protest after the attack.

"We absolutely and strongly condemn violence and today’s shooting of Premier Robert Fico," progressive Slovakia leader Michal Simecka said.

"At the same time we call on all politicians to refrain from any expressions and steps which could contribute to further increasing the tension," he added.

[Regnum] The assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was for political reasons. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, Matush Shutai-Eshtok, told reporters about this on May 15.

“This assassination attempt was politically motivated,” he said.

According to the minister, the attacker could have planned the attack shortly after the country's presidential elections, the second round of which took place on April 6.

Earlier, the Slovak TV channel TA3 showed footage of an elderly man declaring his disagreement with government policy. According to the channel, the video shows an assassination suspect who was detained by the police.

As reported by IA Regnum, an attempt was made on Fico on May 15 in the city of Gandlov after a meeting of the Cabinet, when he came out to the public. The shots rang out shortly after someone shouted at the politician, “Robo, come here.” After this, Fico fell to the ground. The moment of the assassination was caught on video.

The attacker was detained. He turned out to be a 71-year-old supporter of the liberal Progressive Slovakia party, writer Juraj Cintula. Previously, he openly expressed hatred towards Fico on social networks.

The wounded prime minister was taken to a Bratislava hospital by helicopter. His condition is assessed as very serious. According to media reports, the politician suffered a hemorrhage in the abdominal cavity.

It later became known that Fico’s operation was successful, his condition is stable and he is conscious.

Fico has repeatedly condemned sanctions against Russia, noting that they harm the people of Slovakia. In one of his speeches, he expressed the opinion that Moscow is not interested in a third world war. According to the Prime Minister, the Ukrainian conflict could have been extinguished at the very beginning. The politician also stated that he would not support Ukraine’s accession to NATO. In April 2024, Fico noted that Slovakia is interested in friendly relations with Russia.

The former head of the Kremlin protocol called the assassination attempt on Fico a failure of his security
Politicians often ignore the advice of security guards, which could also be the reason why the assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico became possible. This was stated by the former head of the Kremlin’s presidential protocol, who worked under Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Shevchenko.

“As for the work of security, politicians often treat its advice without due attention,” Gazeta.ru quoted the expert as saying.

At the same time, Shevchenko noted that there are cases when security guards behave too brazenly, which negatively affects the politician’s image. But too gentle behavior can lead to an increase in the likelihood of an assassination attempt. It is difficult to find a balance, the expert noted.

In any case, Shevchenko considers it a failure of the security that they could not prevent the attempt on Fico.

As Regnum reported, Fico was shot several times on May 15 in the city of Gandlova during his communication with local residents. The prime minister was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery. According to the latest data, the operation was successful and he is conscious.

The current President of Slovakia, Zuzana Caputova, said that the shooter was detained, but did not name him. According to media reports, 71-year-old supporter of the liberal Progressive Slovakia party, writer Juraj Cintula, is accused of the assassination attempt.

Fico has repeatedly opposed the supply of weapons to Kyiv, and also called for the normalization of relations with Russia. According to the director of the Institute of Systemic Political Research and Humanitarian Projects, Anatoly Gagarin, it was the political position that could have become the reason for the assassination attempt. He also noted that the direct executor could have been used in the dark.

“Fico successfully underwent surgery, his condition is stable and he is communicating,” the statement said.

It is noted that the attacker wounded the Prime Minister in the stomach, pelvis and injured a finger.

As Regnum reported, Fico was attacked on May 15 in the city of Gandlova, when he went out to talk with residents. He was shot several times by a man standing in the crowd. The victim was sent by helicopter to the hospital.

According to Slovak media reports, the attacker was detained. Allegedly, the shooter was a 71-year-old supporter of the liberal Progressive Slovakia party, writer Juraj Cintula. The current President of Slovakia, Zuzana Caputova, confirmed the detention, but did not name him.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed outrage over the assassination attempt on the Slovak prime minister. He noted Fico's courage and fortitude and wished him a speedy recovery.

Fico advocated the restoration of friendly relations with Russia, for which he was called a pro-Russian politician in the European media. Director of the Institute of Systemic Political Research and Humanitarian Projects Anatoly Gagarin believes that they tried to kill the head of government because of his political views.

According to the Russian President, Ukraine and the West do not want to discuss the Chinese plan: “Unfortunately, these initiatives do not find support either in Ukraine or its Western patrons. At the same time, analysts note that the pace of the Russian offensive in the north of the Kharkov region has slowed over the past 24 hours. ISW believes that the Russian Federation plans to combine the bridgeheads in Liptsy and Volchansk and create a border “buffer zone.” Meanwhile, DeepState analysts reported that the enemy had advanced near Volchansk.

07:40 Ukrenergo reported that today from 6:40 to 9:00 it applied controlled emergency shutdowns for industrial and household consumers in all regions of Ukraine. The reason is an increase in electricity shortages due to increased consumption due to cold weather amid the consequences of Russian shelling. Also today, from 00:00 to 24:00, power limitation schedules will apply to industrial consumers.

07:23 The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that air defense systems allegedly destroyed ten ATACMS missiles over Crimea overnight. At the same time, local public pages write about a fire in the Belbek airfield area. Also at night, a fuel depot in the Rostov region was attacked by drones. Governor Vasily Golubev said that as a result of an attack by two UAVs, two explosions occurred at a fuel depot in the Proletarsky district; this did not cause a fuel fire, and there were no casualties.

03:54 A group of Ukrainian people's deputies arrived in Washington to try to get permission to strike with American weapons on Russian territory, Politico writes. People's deputies emphasize that Ukraine saw the Russian group, which was located several kilometers from the border with the Kharkov region, but could not do anything with it due to the ban on the use of Western weapons.

However, American officials interviewed by journalists note that Biden’s position on this issue has not changed. According to one of them, the aid is intended for defense, not offensive operations in Russia.

Israel minister says opposes Jewish post-war 'control' over Gaza
[GEO.TV] Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday said he was opposed to Israeli military control or taking responsibility for the governance of the Gazoo

Strip after the ongoing war with Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
How fortunate the final decision is left to his political masters.
"Since October, I have been raising this issue consistently in the cabinet, and have received no response," Gallant said in a televised statement.
Consider yourself heard, and let it go.
"I must reiterate — I will not agree to the establishment of Israeli military rule in Gaza. Israel must not establish civilian rule in Gaza."
When you are prime minister your opinion will be determinative. In the meantime, it is only advisory.
"I call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make a decision and declare that Israel will not establish civilian control over the Gaza strip," Gallant said, calling for a "governing alternative to Hamas" immediately.
Don’t you have a war to run, buddy? Go, get on with it!
"The day after Hamas will only be achieved with Paleostinian entities taking control of Gaza, accompanied by international actors, establishing a governing alternative to Hamas' rule," he said.

"This, above all, is in interest of the State of Israel."

Thus, on February 21, two women and five children who were in camps in Syria were returned to Azerbaijan. In October 2023, a woman and nine children were returned to Azerbaijan from Syrian camps, and in August of the same year, three women and 13 children were returned.

At least 120 women from Azerbaijan remain in Iraq, Turan agency columnist Tofig Turkel reported in June 2023. In November 2022, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry estimated the total number of its citizens repatriated from Syria and Iraq over the years at 409 people.

On May 14, eight Azerbaijani citizens - three women and five children - were repatriated from the “conflict regions” of Syria, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

According to the department, their transition to Turkish territory was first ensured, and then members of the interdepartmental group responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria were sent to Turkey, where a medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was carried out, the message said, which was translated into Russian language correspondent for the "Caucasian Knot".

Travel documents and air tickets were provided to them by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul. After the repatriates return, their social rehabilitation is provided for, the report notes.

In recent years, about 460 people have been repatriated from Syria and Iraq to Azerbaijan, and this process continues, a representative of the interdepartmental working group on the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

According to him, the location or place of detention of alleged Azerbaijani citizens is first established. Next, their Azerbaijani citizenship is checked. And after this, in agreement with the authorities of the host country, the repatriation process begins: transportation of citizens to Turkey, their examination, provision of documents and then return to their homeland.

The representative of the interdepartmental group found it difficult to name the approximate number of Azerbaijani citizens remaining in Syria and Iraq, “since the available information needs to be verified and double-checked.”

Leila Gatagazheva's defense considered her return to the pre-trial detention center to be unjustified cruelty
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Leila Gatagazheva, who was returned from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center for the second time in a row, needs treatment; her health was undermined in an Iraqi prison, a relative and lawyers said. The investigation into Gatagazheva’s case has been completed and there is no evidence of her guilt in the case materials, the defense emphasized. As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in February the investigation excluded the article on aiding terrorist activities from the charges against native Ingushetia Leila Gatagazheva; now she is accused only of participation in an illegal armed group.

On April 27, the court decided to transfer her to house arrest, and Gatagazheva returned to Malgobek from the Pyatigorsk detention center, human rights activists reported.

once the United States opens a temporary pier, US officials said Wednesday, as they also pushed for the reopening of a key land crossing.

In a briefing with news hounds, US officials involved in the pier project, in which humanitarian aid will be screened and loaded in Cyprus before being offloaded into Gaza, repeated that it would become operational "in the coming days."

"Today we have hundreds of tons of aid ready for delivery and thousands of tons of aid in the pipeline," said Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, deputy commander of US Central Command which operates in the Middle East.

Cooper also warned that the United States would not tolerate attacks on the pier, saying it took the security of service members and humanitarian workers "very seriously".

"This is a 100 per cent humanitarian mission and any attack on those working on it — on this mission — is an attack on aid for the people of Gaza," he said.

Mosque attack in Nigeria's north injures at least 24 people, including children
[AFRICANEWS] At least 24 worshippers, including four children, were maimed in northern Nigeria's Kano state after a man attacked the mosque where they were praying early Wednesday morning, resulting in a kaboom, the police said.

The suspect, a 38-year-old resident of the area, confessed that he attacked the mosque in Kano's remote Gadan village "purely in hostility following prolonged (a) family disagreement," police front man Abdullahi Haruna said in a statement.
If there are no appropriate targets, the Sudden Jihadist will take it out on the nearest possible target, no matter how inappropriate.
The incident caused panic in Kano, northern Nigeria's largest state, where periodic religious-related unrest has occurred over the years, sometimes resulting in violence.

Haruna said preliminary forensic analysis suggested a gasoline explosion, but a full investigation was still ongoing.

The police have also cordoned off the scene while the injured were rushed to a hospital in the state capital.

The Daily Trust newspaper reported that the worshippers were locked inside the mosque, making it difficult to escape the earth-shattering kaboom. It said the suspect had attacked people in the area in the past over the same family dispute.

"The disagreement (was) over sharing of inheritance of which those that he alleged to have cheated on him were in the mosque at that moment and he did that for his voice to be heard," the police statement said.

"Do not think that Israel will stop in Gaza," Erdogan told his party politicians in the parliament in the capital Ankara.

"Unless it’s stopped... this rogue and terrorist state will set its sights on Anatolia sooner or later," he said, referring to the large Ottoman Turkish peninsula also called Asia Minor that comprises more than half of Turkey’s territory.

"We will continue to stand by Hamas, which fights for the independence of its own land and which defends Anatolia," added Erdogan.

Searches in the case of the chief personnel officer of the Moscow Region Kuznetsov were carried out in Moscow and Kuban

Africa Horn
Army, RSF clash for 4th day over El Fasher control
[SUDANTRIBUNE] A deadly battle for control of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, has entered its fourth day, raising fears of a full-blown war. The festivities between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and a combined force of the Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army and allied armed movements have resulted in a growing number of civilian casualties.

The RSF launched a large-scale offensive, deploying thousands of fighters from across Darfur in an attempt to capture El Fasher. The Sudanese army and its allies responded by reinforcing their presence within the city.

Eyewitnesses reported to "Sudan Tribune" that the RSF bombarded densely populated areas in the south and west of the city with artillery fire, causing significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction of homes.

Conflicting Narratives:

A military official from the joint forces claimed they repelled a "treacherous attack" by the RSF, inflicting heavy losses on them and capturing several military vehicles. He further alleged that the RSF used foreign mercenaries in the assault.

In contrast, an RSF spokesperson countered that their forces successfully defended their positions from an attack by "mercenary movements and coup forces." They claimed capturing military vehicles and inflicting significant casualties on their attackers. They also accused the army of war crimes for shelling civilian areas.

General mobilization announced:

Minni Minawi, head of the Sudan Liberation Movement and Governor of Darfur, reacted by announcing a general mobilization to defend El Fasher and its citizens. He accused the RSF of mobilizing fighters and mercenaries to plunder the city and urged residents to protect their lives and property.

Minawi further condemned the RSF’s actions, including shelling civilian areas and blocking aid deliveries, calling them "criminal" acts.

The situation in El Fasher remains highly volatile, with both sides offering conflicting narratives. The heavy fighting and disregard for civilian life raise serious concerns about a potential escalation into a wider conflict.
