South Dakota will require "In God We Trust" signs in all public schools
[CBS] A new law in South Dakota now requires all public schools across the state to feature the "In God We Trust" motto on display. Students returning to school this fall will be greeted by the message, which supporters say is meant to "inspire patriotism."

Gov. Kristi Noem signed the law in March, and it went into effect this month. The law requires that the message is prominently displayed in all 149 South Dakota school districts on the first day of classes this year.

"Some have plaques, others have it painted on the wall, maybe in a mural setting," Associated School Boards of South Dakota executive director Wade Pogany said, describing how schools plan to implement the new law. The display of the quote is required to be at least 12 inches by 12 inches in size. In one school "it was within their freedom wall. They added that to a patriotic theme," he said.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation
populated by 90s dropouts and slackers mostly
has condemned the law, calling it part of a "stealth campaign" to inject religion into state legislation.

"The motto 'In God We Trust' is inaccurate, exclusionary, and aimed at brainwashing American schoolchildren into believing that our nation is a theocracy," the organization spat out said in a news release Thursday.

The group urged people to contact their legislators to oppose the law. "Our position is that it's a terrible violation of freedom of conscience to inflict a godly message
Yupp. They said this.
on a captive audience of schoolchildren," co-president Annie Laurie Gaylor said.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
John McAfee Arrested With Arms Cache And Butch Facial Hair
[TheSun] Fugitive anti-virus guru John McAfee, 73, arrested with cache of firearms in the Dominican Republic while fleeing rape and murder allegations.

CYBER-SECURITY pioneer John McAfee has been arrested for taking weapons and ammunition into the Dominican Republic.

The British-born software mogul, 73, was arrested with his crew after he docked his yacht, the Great Mystery, in Puerto Plata, on the Dominican Republic's northern coast. Cops in Belize are seeking him in connection with the slaying of an American neighbour, Gregory Faull, 52, in 2012. The gun-toting fugitive has been in hiding from the US Government, while avoiding officials in Belize - where he is a "person of interest" in a mysterious killing.

And the tech guru is on the run from US tax authorities, who have indicted him for tax evasion.

The Dominican's Public Ministry said it seized the weapons - several high caliber guns - money and ammunition found on the yacht.

It appears his days on the run might be coming to end, however, as a report in Dominican Today said that he'll be given to American officials.

McAfee posted photos of himself in a cell, after his second arrest in the Dominican Republic

Incidentally, McAfee had offered posturedclaimed to share some unimaginably dirty dirt on some very high players recently. After which Interpol and US Treasury Dept began hunting for him. Maybe these are the last pics of him we'll see. He added a lot to the anti-malware industry it seems, but the bugs he just couldn't get rid of were evidently in his own head.

The investigators need to be investigated
h/t Instapundit
[LegalInsurrection] My initial reaction to Robert Mueller’s congressional appearance was one of pity. He was a pathetic character on the stage, seemingly bewildered at times, mentally frail, and vulnerable as a witness.

What a way to end a career and to be remembered by friend and foe alike.

But emotion is not the way to assess what we saw. It’s not an overstatement to say that the Hillary-DNC-Fusion GPS-Steele operation, as embraced by influential members of the FBI and possibly intelligence services, compounded by leaks to and collusion of a willing media, came close to undermining a presidential election before and after Election Day.

In many ways the Mueller testimony confirmed our worst fears that the Mueller Investigation was the Mueller Investigation in name only, that it was run the way the pre-Mueller investigation of Trump was run ‐ by people with a political agenda to override the 2016 election result, or at least to make sure it didn’t happen again in 2020. It’s a theme we’ve covered here pretty much since the Inauguration.

Whether Robert Mueller was a mere figurehead or in control, he was a participant. So while he was a sorry figure in the congressional hearings, and his appearance did substantial damage to Democrat and media plans, the gravity of what happened should not be lessened. It almost worked.

The media, of course, was a full participant in what happened. Just when you thought the major organizations who control almost all of popular and social media couldn’t get any worse, they do. This all takes place while high tech companies put the thumb on the scale by penalizing non-liberal content.

You know where I’m going, don’t you? Dread.

After Mueller had testified for several hours, and it was clear that it was a disaster for Democrats and the media, I was asked by someone who works in the neighborhood, knows about this website, and is a big Trump supporter, how it was going. We talked about the hearings for a little while, since he was unable to watch, then he asked me: "Do you still have hope?"

That simple question somewhat set me aback.

My answer, paraphrased:

Yes, I still have hope, but it’s hard. When the weight of the media, entertainment and educational industries is so hostile to non-liberals, and when it combines with the power of the state, it’s tough. It seems overwhelming at times. It’s emotionally and physically draining. And it’s been going on for several decades. Yet I still have hope despite that overwhelming disadvantage.

It’s almost unimaginable that after this decades-long onslaught, Republicans nonetheless control the Senate and the presidency, and most state legislatures. How can that possibly be, it’s seemingly impossible. The American people are resilient, and that gives me hope.

But vigilance must be eternal, going to sleep politically even for a year or two is not an option. You cannot give an inch, or they’ll take a mile. And people need to be held accountable.

We’re doing construction at the house. The contractors we’re using told me they’ve never seen the economy this strong, that they can’t hire enough people for all the work they could get. Some of the workers blasted Rush Limbaugh on the radio. I smiled.

We can’t let the Mueller fiasco be forgotten. This was really dangerous, almost beyond imagination.

The investigators need to be investigated.
The best defense is certainty of retaliation - I said at the time that Christine Blasey Ford's life needs to be turned into hell. Muller and Co hundredfold.

How did the Squad get elected?
[NEO] Step 1: Find a congressional district that’s bluer than blue, where any Democratic nominee is a shoe-in to be elected. Some of these are natural districts, almost always located in big urban centers. Others are carefully gerrymandered to create a situation in which a Democratic nominee cannot lose.

Step 2: Locate one in which the current Democratic representative has some weaknesses. Maybe he or she is a bit too stale, having been around really long. Maybe he or she is a bit too white—or, for the “he’s”, a bit too male or too heterosexual.

Step 3: Recruit a far left candidate from a favored demographic that is a designated victim group: black, Hispanic, Muslim, female, or a combination of as many of those characteristics as possible.

Step 4: It helps if the new candidate is a she who is very pretty and quite young.

Step 5: Primary the current Democratic representative.

Step 6: In the primary, count on only the most leftist activists to show up in any significant numbers. It’s best if the turnout is less than a third of eligible voters, which is often the case in a primary in a place where there’s an incumbent whom people assume will win against his or her Democratic challengers, particularly if they are extremists.

Step 7: Win the primary. Once you do that, you’re home free, because the Republican (if there even is one running) has just about zero chance of winning against any Democrat in this particular district.

Then do it again. And again. Until your power is consolidated.

It can be done in the Senate, too, in true-blue states. But the House is much easier.

That is a way it may be possible for the far left to gain more power, particularly in the House, even if the majority of America and even the majority of Democrats do not support far left politics.
Emphasis added.

Suspects busted for water-bucket attacks on cops already back on the street
[New York Post] The three men busted in connection to the city’s spate of cop drenchings were already back on the street Thursday ‐ as authorities were able to bring only misdemeanor charges against them.

Enlarge ImageCourtney Thompson, l., leaves court after his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court in Brooklyn, Thursday, July 25, 2019, accompanied by his attorney Dough Rankin, r. He was facing charges stemming from an incident that was captured on video in which he allegedly threw water on police officers.

Courtney Thompson, left, leaves court after his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court. Robert Mecea Isaiah Scott and Chad Bowden, the Harlem men charged with soaking a female civilian on July 21 near the scene of that neighborhood’s water-bucket attack, walked free without bail late Wednesday at Manhattan criminal court.

The men, respectively 23 and 28, were hit with charges including criminal mischief and harassment, because the water fried the unsuspecting woman’s cellphone, prosecutors allege.

In Brooklyn, the reputed Crips gangbanger charged with tossing a pail of water onto a uniformed cop’s head on July 20, was hit with $3,500 bail at his own arraignment but walked free after posting the sum.

MSNBC Analyst: ‘We in the Media' Failed to Explain Russia Probe in ‘Bite-Sized Way' for Public
[Free Beacon] MSNBC analyst Richard Stengel said Thursday that "we in the media" hadn't done a good-enough job of explaining the particulars of the Russia investigation to the public in a "bite-sized way."
Yes, your "failure" is surely due to our stupidity and incomprehension.
In the aftermath of former special counsel Robert Mueller's low-key testimony Wednesday on Capitol Hill, the former Obama administration diplomat said on Deadline: White House it was incumbent on the press and Democrats to put significant nuggets from the Russia probe on a "three-by-five card" and repeat it over and over for Americans to understand.

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace, who was among the many members of the media critical of Mueller's performance on Capitol Hill, said nevertheless Mueller had "destroyed" Trump's credibility. In her reading, Mueller had laid bare that Trump would be charged with a crime if he were not president. Mueller said the investigation did not exonerate Trump on obstruction of justice but didn't come to a conclusion as to whether he committed a crime.

Many Democrats had hoped Mueller would bring new life to his probe and perhaps spur more members, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.), to seek impeachment. However, he contained his answers to the report's information and didn't provide showy sound bites.

CRISPR (gene-editing) Study Inside the Body to Start in US
[US News] Patients are about to be enrolled in the first study to test a gene-editing technique known as CRISPR inside the body to try to cure an inherited form of blindness.

People with the disease have normal eyes but lack a gene that converts light into signals to the brain that enable sight.

The experimental treatment aims to supply kids and adults with a healthy version of the gene they lack, using a tool that cuts or "edits" DNA in a specific spot. It's intended as a onetime treatment that permanently alters the person's native DNA.

Two companies, Editas Medicine and Allergan, will test this in up to 18 people around the United States, including Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston, starting this fall.

This gene editing in people after birth is different from the controversial work a Chinese scientist did last year ‐ altering the DNA of embryos at conception in a way that can pass the changes to future generations. The DNA changes in adults that the new study aims to make will not be inherited by any offspring.

Only one other company, Sangamo Therapeutics, has tried gene editing inside the body, to treat metabolic diseases using a tool called zinc fingers.

CRISPR has captivated scientists because it's a very simple way to do gene editing, although it's so new that its risks are not fully known. But researchers believe it has great potential to cure or treat many diseases caused by gene flaws that have no good treatments now.

The blindness study is for people with one form of Leber congenital amaurosis. It's the most common cause of inherited childhood blindness, occurring in about 2 to 3 of every 100,000 births. People often see only bright light and blurry shapes and eventually can lose all sight.

Parents are carriers of the flawed gene and it can lurk undetected for generations, suddenly emerging when an unlucky combination gives a child two copies of it.

A gene therapy called Luxturna already is sold for other forms of the disease, and the treatment is similar ‐ a modified virus is used to carry the replacement gene into cells in the retina in the back of the eye. It's delivered as an injection during a brief surgery.

The new study will test children at least 3 years old and adults with a range of vision.

#1  So now Allergan doesn't have to make iffy breast implants. They can just edit the boob gene in people.

What fun the LGBTQNation will have with this shit. The most funding won't be for research to cure blindness or DNS but on how to give Shondra a permanent 12 inch strap-on.

Legislation should be initiated right now to ensure that editing certain genes at certain ages will be illegal. Before Hollywood 'Mothers' sign up their children for genetic changes to suit their fancies.

FDA Orders Recall Of Breast Implants After Links To Roughly 500 Cancer Cases, A Dozen Deaths
[Daily Caller] The Food and Drug Administration requested that pharmaceutical company Allergan recall specific breast implant models that may cause cancer, the FDA announced Wednesday.

Allergan’s textured breast implants have been linked to a rare cancer called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). The FDA warned of the implants, citing 33 patient deaths from breast implant-associated ALCL. Of the 13 deaths where the breast implant manufacturer is known, 12 involved implants made by Allergan, according to the FDA.

Textured implants like the ones being recalled make up roughly 5 % of the implants used in the U.S., according to The New York Times. The FDA recommends that women with the implants refrain from removing them unless they start to experience symptoms, and Allergan is taking the specific models off the market.

Minister Steinitz visits Egypt as historical energy deal set to start
[Jpost] Israel will begin natural gas exports to Egypt within four months, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz told Rooters on Wednesday.

The flow will secure the start of a $15 billion export agreement between Israel’s Delek Drilling and Texas-based partner Noble Energy with an Egyptian counterpart in what Israeli officials called the most significant deal to emerge since the neighbours made peace in 1979.

Egypt hopes to leverage its strategic location and well-developed infrastructure to become a key international trading and distribution centre for gas, a potentially remarkable turnaround for a country that spent about $3 billion on annual liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports as recently as 2016.

House Dems vote to subpoena Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner for personal emails, texts
[Fox News]The House Oversight Committee voted along party lines Thursday to authorize subpoenas for personal emails and texts used for official business by top White House aides, including Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the panel's chairman, said the committee has obtained "direct evidence" that the president's daughter, Kushner and other top aides were using personal accounts for official business in violation of federal law and White House policy.

"What we do not yet know is why these White House officials were attempting to conceal these communications," Cummings said, adding that the White House has refused to produce a single piece of paper this year in response to the investigation.

Cummings said Ivanka Trump has used private email accounts for official business while her husband has used the messaging application WhatsApp. Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon also used private accounts for personal business, Cummings said.

Republicans called the subpoenas unnecessary and said Ivanka Trump and Kushner are cooperating with the committee. The subpoenas were approved 23-16 on a party-line vote. Cummings also announced Thursday that the House Oversight Committee would postpone a vote on whether to recommend that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway be held in contempt of Congress, as talks continued with the Trump administration.

The committee's investigation comes after Ivanka Trump last year dismissed any comparison to the use of private email by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, which prompted an FBI investigation and inspired the "Lock her up!" chant at Donald Trump's 2016 campaign rallies.

In her time as the top U.S. diplomat, from 2009 to 2013, Clinton sent thousands of emails using a private server set up at her home in Chappaqua, N.Y. The FBI found classified information in some of the emails that were sent or received on the nongovernment system, but federal authorities declined to pursue charges against Clinton.

Last year, The Washington Post reported that Ivanka Trump sent hundreds of emails about government business from a personal email account to White House aides, Cabinet members and her assistant. The newspaper said many of those communications, during the early months of the administration, violated federal public records rules.

Ivanka Trump's lawyer, Abbe Lowell, has said that since September 2017, his client always forwards official business to her White House account.

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, the oversight panel's top Republican, said Democrats were frustrated after high-profile hearings Wednesday with former Special Counsel Robert Mueller failed to generate momentum to impeach President Donald Trump. The subpoenas were being issued "purely for politics," he said.

Jordan also clashed with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., during the hearing when the member of "the Squad" of far-left Democrats suggested that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner no longer have an expectation of privacy as senior White House advisers.

Tlaib claimed it was "unprecedented" that Jordan and others were trying to protect family members of the administration. Jordan responded by asserting that the nature of the subpoena was "unprecedented" as was the personal information it was pursuing.

Jordan, who served on the House Benghazi panel and was among Clinton's sharpest critics, said Clinton "exclusively used a private server" and destroyed more than 30,000 emails. Ivanka Trump, by contrast, "inadvertently" used a private account "on a few rare occasions" before correcting her actions, he said.

Tega Cay removes controversial monument to fallen officer, citing divided community
[WCNC] TEGA CAY, S.C. ‐ There is a controversy in Tega Cay over a monument dedicated to the police department.

Tuesday night, the City of Tega Cay announced they decided to remove the monument while they look for a solution that expresses support of "those who risk their lives every day."

The city originally decided to remove the word "Lord" after backlash from the community. Then, social media was buzzing with others who disagree with the city’s action.

The monument was located at the fallen officers memorial outside the police department. A police spokesman said they started getting complaints, so city leaders had a meeting and decided to remove the references.

The word "Lord" appeared three times in the monument before it was removed. However, removing the word has also caused backlash.

Snopes Rolls Out New Opinion Check Feature
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐Snopes has rolled out a helpful new feature: an opinion checker.

Alongside the site's helpful fact checks of satirical articles and debunking of urban legends, there will now be a section of the site dedicated to checking out opinions and letting you know which ones are acceptable to hold.

"Just checking facts wasn't enough anymore---now, people are looking to Snopes to be the moral arbiter of which opinions are OK and which ones are not," said a spokesperson for the website. "This has been a long time coming. We've pretty much been doing this all along, but disguising it as a 'fact check.' So now we can just be much more upfront with people about what our intentions are."

As soon as the feature went live, Snopes had opinion-checked dozens of opinions, including the following:

  • President Trump isn't as bad as Hitler
  • White men aren't all bad
  • Abortion is wrong
  • Pineapple does not belong on pizza
  • Hillary Clinton is not a good person
  • The Last Jedi is trash
  • It's OK to laugh at a joke on the internet

All of these earned a "Wrong" opinion rating. Any post expressing these opinions on social media will automatically be tagged with a "Wrong" rating from Snopes.

DC Tourist Savagely Beaten, Stomped, Spit on by Gang of Youths at Hilton Hotel Where Reagan Was Shot
[Gateway Pundit] A tourist was savagely beaten, stomped and spit on by a gang of over a dozen youths at the entrance to the Washington Hilton Hotel around 1 a.m. on July 14, according to Washington, D.C. police who released hotel surveillance video showing the brutal unprovoked attack. The Hilton‐located about twelve blocks north of the White House at 1919 Connecticut Avenue and T Street, NW‐is a key part of official Washington, playing host to presidents, foreign dignitaries, business and political gatherings including the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. It is also where President Ronald Reagan was shot by a would-be assassin in 1981.

Woman arrested over A$AP Rocky protest at Swedish Embassy
[Politico] President Donald Trump apparently isn’t the only one brimming with outrage over Sweden’s arrest of American rapper A$AP Rocky on assault charges.

Secret Service officers arrested Rebecca Kanter, 26, at the Swedish Embassy in Washington on Tuesday after she allegedly made threats, engaged in a foul-mouthed rant and damaged property as part of an apparent protest against the Scandinavian nation’s treatment of Rocky, according to court records.

After arriving at the embassy ‐ known as the House of Sweden ‐ Kanter "began cursing and screaming at embassy personnel and a student group tour, making statements about an American rapper, A$AP Rocky, who is detained in Sweden," Secret Service Officer William Ayers wrote in a criminal complaint. "Kanter then walked toward a teepee display in the House of Sweden, kicked a teepee, and proceeded to kick over a coffee table in the lobby. ... Embassy staff ordered Kanter to leave the premises of the House of Sweden but Kanter refused and instead sat down on the floor of the Embassy and stated, ’Call the police. I am not leaving.’"

A day earlier, Kanter allegedly visited the same embassy, threw liquid at it from a Coca-Cola bottle and shouted, "I’m going to blow this motherf----- up," the complaint says.

Authorities say Kanter posted messages on social media accounts about her actions, asking in one posting: "Why aren’t I getting press for ASAP?"

Don Jr.: 'The inmates were running the asylum' during Mueller investigation
[Washington Examiner] Donald Trump Jr. expressed his exasperation at House Democrats during a Thursday interview with Tucker Carlson, reacting to former special counsel Robert Mueller's testimony on Capitol Hill.

Trump Jr. claimed Mueller did not know who was truly running his investigation and that the "inmates were running the asylum" during the two-year inquiry.

He also asserted that Mueller was used as a "figurehead" for the Democrats who were "doing whatever they could to destroy my father's presidency." He said that the Democratic Party thought Mueller, a former FBI director and decorated military veteran, was someone the American people would trust, even though "this guy put in 19 leftist, Hillary Clinton donor lawyers ... [Mueller] had no idea who was running the ship." By continuing to pursue impeachment, Trump Jr. claimed, the Democrats are obstructing his father's efforts to get laws passed that could help the American people.

Trump Jr. was also under scrutiny during Mueller's investigation for his alleged involvement in receiving opposition information on Hillary Clinton during his father's presidential campaign.

Tesla Reports Loss of $400+ Million, Co-Founder Leaves Company
[Breitbart] Tesla shares dropped significantly following the release of a lower-than-expected earnings report, which included a loss for the quarter of $408 million, along with the departure of the company’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer J.B. Straubel.

CNBC reports that Tesla’s Q2 earnings release resulted in a significant drop in Tesla stock price with an overall decline of 10 percent in extended trading. The drop continued into Thursday trading, Tesla is down 14 percent at the time of this writing. Refinitiv compiled a summary of what Tesla posted versus what analysts expected, it reads as follows:

Loss per share on an adjusted basis: $1.12 vs. 40 cents expected
Revenue: $6.35 billion versus $6.41 billion expected
Despite falling short of expectations, Tesla reaffirmed full-year delivery guidance stating that the company still believes it will sell 360,000 to 400,000 vehicles in 2019 mostly consisting of Model 3 sedans. In the first six months of 2019, Tesla delivered approximately 158,200 vehicles to customers and still has to deliver more than 200,000 in the last six months of the year to hit the low-end of its projected figures.

Tesla alleges it has a weekly run-rate of 7000 Model 3 cars and plans to produce 10,000 Model 2s per week by the end of 2019. Tesla stated in its second-quarter letter that it plans to improve production at existing factories in order to make high-volume Model 3 sales possible. While sale of the firm’s Powerwall and Powerpack energy storage products increased, sale of its solar energy products continued their decline. Tesla combines sales of all energy generation and storage product into one figure which came to $368.2 million in revenue, a two percent decline over the same time period last year.

#1  I'll say this - those Teslas are hard to keep up with on a highway. I was doing my quarterly Cape Cod payroll thing a few months ago (I'm in a 2002 Camry) and right after we get off the Sagamore Bridge going north on Route 3 my normal move is to grab whichever lane's open, shoot past the traffic and hit 75-80 because the next ten miles is open road until you start hitting all the Plymouth exits. One of these Teslas blasts past me and dropped me, so I slowly go after him, figuring the state trooper's going to nail him first. He got blocked (two lane road), so I caught up to him. This went on for the next 30 miles and he eventually turns off in Hanover. I never bothered to look it up but I'm certain his car weighs a lot less than mine (3800 lbs).

Gillibrand calls for gouging $10T from economy to combat climate change
[POLITICO] Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) outlined what her administration would do to fight climate change. Her proposal measures up with many 2020 rivals, though she differs in some key areas on how to address rising emissions.

    What would the plan do?

Gillibrand, like many other candidates, wants to neutralize nationwide carbon emissions by 2050. She also set a nearer target to achieve net-zero electricity emissions within a decade. Her plan would tax and phase out fossil fuels while tightening regulations. Many of those efforts — like closing the so-called “Halliburton loophole,” which exempts fracking operations from drinking water standards — would require help from Congress. Gillibrand also wants to boost the green jobs sector with prevailing wages, union protection and training to transition fossil fuel-dependent workers into emerging clean technology fields.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Abbas says Palestinian will no longer abide by agreements signed with Israel
A threat President Abbas has been making for a while, with increasing stridency every two months or so.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
says his government will stop abiding by agreements signed with Israel following the demolition earlier this week of 12 buildings in the West Bank territory adjacent to East Jerusalem but under PA control according to the Oslo Accords.

At a meeting of top Paleostinian officials at the PA presidential headquarters in Ramallah, Abbas calls the home demolitions in Sur Baher "a violation of international legitimacy and agreements signed between us and them, an issue that can only be identified as ethnic cleansing and a crime against humanity."

"In the face of the occupation authority’s insistence in negating all of the signed agreements and in line with the obligations that has been created, we announce the decision of the leadership to halt work related to the agreements signed with the Israeli side and begin establishing mechanisms, starting tomorrow with the formation of a committee to implement that," he adds.

According to Politico, U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar called the ban on asylum seekers who come to the U.S.-Mexico border through a third country "arbitrary and capricious."

Tigar’s decision came just hours after a D.C.-based district judge upheld the ban, nullifying that earlier Trump victory.

Tunisia's First Democratically Elected Leader, President Beji Caid Essebsi, Dies at 92
[TIME] Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, the North African country’s first democratically elected leader and heir to Tunisia’s founding father, has died. He was 92.

Essebsi died Thursday morning at the Tunis military hospital, where he was taken the night before, an official in the president’s office told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. The presidential Facebook page said funeral plans will be announced soon.

Under Tunisia’s constitution, the president of the parliament will assume the presidency for 45 to 90 days while elections are organized.

Essebsi won office in 2014 in the wake of the country’s Arab Spring uprising. He emerged from retirement to seek the presidency at age 88, presenting his centrist movement as a bulwark against rising Islamic fundamentalism and political chaos that rocked Tunisia after the people’s people’s revolt overthrew a longtime dictator and unleashed similar movements throughout the region.

#1  The solution to the islamist menace is annihilation of the religion and its associated cultures like a plague. Keep killing them and dehumanizing them until they are brought to weigh their adamant adherence to their culture against survival. Convert or die ! Large areas may have to be de-populated for this, but the world will be better off. Humanity shall have time and repose to think about greater concerns than appeasing and accommodating regressive leeches and enemies of their societies.

Nations will become protectionist of their native demographic to the point of real xenophobia, and a return to 'ethnic cleansing'. No one can blame the people for imagining it today, but soon they will demand it. Denied by aboulomaniac administrations, they will simply jump the gun.
If they don't they will perish themselves.

It sounds evil and 'too much', I know. But wait and watch as the world is slowly brought to the same realization. There is coming a time when all the humanist "managing of expectations" will be unsustainable, making us murderers of millions.

#8  The article goes on and on about threats but never mentions who is making them. (what's with 'journalists' and this lack of curiosity?) Judging from the news (yeah, bad sampling) most mosque bombings and vandalism are either internal mosque politics, Shia vs Sunni, or false flag ops to gin up sympathy. Certainly there is some real vandalism, but dollars to donuts, it is less than Christian churches.

It finds that almost one in five people think negatively of Muslims.

Rather than go for the obvious snark, let's look at the numbers. 1 in 5 is 20 percent. Flip this around and you get 80% do NOT think negatively of Muslims. Not quite so scary, eh?

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
An ongoing push against Hezbollah in Syria
[Ynet] With tensions in the Gulf rising, Iran is accelerating efforts to create a second front against Israel on the Syrian side of the Golan for its proxy terror group to use when an attack on the Jewish state would best suit their interests in their conflict with the United States.

The strike Wednesday attributed to Israel in Tel Haraa in southern Syria should be seen the context of recent events that include a mysterious murder of a Druze resident of the area and an earlier strike in the same location.

Syrian media reported earlier this week of a kaboom that killed Mash'hur Zeidan, a Druze resident of the village of Hadar in southern Syria, who was a known operative of the Leb-based Hezbollah terror group. He and his son died late Sunday night near the village of Sasa, 40 kilometers south of Damascus.

It is no secret that Israel is actively attempting to foil any Hezbollah efforts of entrenchment on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, close to the ceasefire line reached after the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

The attack on Tel Haraa early Wednesday came about six weeks after a similar attack on this region which is known to have pro-Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
    militias stationed in it.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the attack caused both fatalities and damage, and was directed at Syrian regime forces as well as foreign militias loyal to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
    Terror of Aleppo ...
Iran has been investing efforts in building a terror infrastructure close to the Syrian border with Israel and their forces on the ground are mostly Hezbollah operatives.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps is banned from setting up a presence in the area following an agreement reached with the intervention of Russia, which ensures there are no Iranian forces less than 80 kilometers from the border.

Russian military police are enforcing the agreement, which is why Qasem Soleimani, who is in charge of Iran's troop deployment in Syria, has subcontracted to Hezbollah the task of creating infrastructure in the area. This infrastructure includes observation posts and intelligence installations that would support future Iranian-inspired Hezbollah attacks on Israel.

The escalating tension in the Persian Gulf may be putting pressure on Iran to accelerate its efforts to establish a front on the Golan Heights ready for at a time beneficial to Tehran.

Tel Haraa has been used by the Syrian army for many years to observe the Israeli side of the Golan, including with the use of electronic surveillance. A Syrian military base is also located there, providing support to the Iranian-backed forces in the area.

Syria took back the base and its surroundings from rebel forces last year, with the help of the Russian military and with the understanding that only Syrian troops were allowed in.

Iranian-backed militias - including Hezbollah - were to be redeployed at least 80 kilometers away. Yet the attacks attributed to Israel, which has said it will not allow Iran to set up shop on the Syrian side of the border, continue.
A Jerusalem Post piece in the subject adds:
According to Phillip Smyth, the Soref Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, “Hezbollah doesn’t want to have to execute an entire war on its own in southern Syria. It’s much easier to apply plausible deniability and harder to bust a Hezbollah cell if they are locals,” he told The Jerusalem Post, adding that they have taken a slightly different approach and being very pragmatic in terms of who they recruit.

Zidan, a Druze resident from the village of Hadar, is believed to have been a senior Hezbollah operative responsible for recruiting volunteers from villages near the border with Israel as part of Hezbollah’s Golan File.

Senior intelligence officers in the IDF’s Northern Command said that Hezbollah’s Golan Project began last summer following the reconquering of the Syrian Golan by regime troops. Operatives involved in the clandestine file have weaponry available from the civil war and if needed, will receive additional weaponry from Lebanon or existing arsenals kept by Hezbollah and Iran.

“Hezbollah knows that Israel is watching, so they are being much more covert than in the past,” Smyth said, adding that they are using more local forces rather than sending brigades of Lebanese fighters to the area.

Military success in Syria has also allowed Hezbollah to redeploy senior operatives and troops to the area as well as southern Lebanon. The group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah has said as much himself in a speech in mid-July.

“We are present in every area that we used to be. We are still there, but we don’t need to be there in large numbers as long as there is no practical need,” he said, adding that “if there was a need to return, all those who were there would go back.”

According to David Daoud, a research analyst on Hezbollah and Lebanon at United Against Nuclear Iran, the uptick in Israeli strikes in the area is because “there has been increased Hezbollah presence.”

In mid-March US President Donald Trump announced the formal recognition of the Golan as sovereign Israeli territory, handing Hezbollah a present for their recruitment in the area.

“Recognition of the Golan creates common ground for different factions to agree upon - the same applies to the embassy move, and the ‘deal of the century,” Daoud said, adding that “Different regional groups or axes that might not otherwise agree now have something in common.”

Smyth told The Post that while “Trump’s statement has sent some signals to Iran,” Tehran has “upped the ante because of the situation on the ground, not because of Trump’s statement. They know that their goals will outlast the Trump administration. But if it rallies the troops, they will use it. They are very pragmatic.”

While the “Iranians have been following the same program in southern Syria for years, now they're trying to secure and resecure their gains,” Smyth said. “There’s a lot more opportunity, it’s a net gain no matter how you look at it.”

The attack on Tel Haara on Wednesday was not the first.

The site has been used by the Syrian army for years to observe Israeli movement, and since the Assad regime re-took the area from rebels last summer, there have been several strikes on the site blamed on Israel.

While the base, which has electronic surveillance capabilities, was supposed to be manned solely by regime troops, pro-Iranian militias including Hezbollah are known to be stationed in it.

According to Smyth, Hezbollah and Iran “have been at the forefront of using electronic means to counter their foes, its existed for decades and it wouldn’t shock me if they were testing the waters there.”

The opportunity was there for the taking.

The retaking of the Syrian Golan by Assad also forced Israel to end Operation Good Neighbor, where Israel provided humanitarian and, according to foreign reports, military aid to rebels in the Syrian Golan.

Israel also treated thousands of Syrians who arrived at the border, both combatants and civilians. According to officials some 70% of the wounded treated by Israel were men of fighting age while the other 30% were women and children.

A year later, “times have changed,” Smyth told the Post. “Not everyone has switched over but if your stuck in Syria and you have no options...and you can’t run into Israel...you have to back the strongest horse.”

    And that’s Hezbollah.

Israeli embassy in Finland subjected to relentless anti-Semitic attacks
[Ynet] Over the past year and a half, the embassy in the capital of Helsinki has been vandalized on at least 15 occasions by neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously and purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
snuffies who among other things shattered glass doors, plastered swastikas and Hitler images all over the building.

Israeli embassy in Finland over the past year and a half has been subjected to countless anti-Semitic acts of vandalism with the latest in the series of disturbing incidents occurring over the past weekend.

The embassy, located in the capital city of Helsinki, has been targeted by far-right snuffies and neo-Nazis on at least 15 occasions since last 2018, yet stopping the harassment doesn’t seem to be a priority for the local authorities.

The latest attack saw the glass in the embassy’s front door completely shattered with swastikas and Hitler images plastered all over the building's entrance.

Last February an illegal demonstration took place at the embassy’s doorstep, organized by the Nordic Resistance Movement, a far-right transnational neo-Nazi group founded in Sweden (where it’s classified as a political party).

Israeli Ambassador to Finland Dov Segev-Steinberg has raised the issue with the local authorities on multiple occasions. But, while bigwigs in the country express concern over the situation, tough measures against the perpetrators are yet to be implemented.

"Over the weekend there was a physical attack on the Israeli embassy in Helsinki," The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. "It’s another link in the chain of anti-Semitic attacks targeting the embassy.

"The Israeli Embassy in Helsinki expressed its disgust over the events to the Finnish authorities and demanded they act in full force to locate the culprits, bring them to justice and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future."

Anti-Semitism in the Nordic country has become more prominent in recent years. On Finland's Independence Day last year (celebrated on December 6), right-wing turban waved multiple Nazi flags in the center of the capital.

Kai Aslak Mykkänen, the country’s former interior minister, defended the act saying the country has the freedom of expression.

In addition, Finnish MP Hussein al-Taee of the Social Democratic Party has in the past compared Israel to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. British navy to escort UK-flagged ships in Gulf strait
[IsraelTimes] Britannia on Thursday ordered its navy to escort UK-flagged ships through the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian soldiers seized a tanker in the flashpoint Gulf region.

"The Royal Navy has been tasked to accompany British-flagged ships through the Strait of Hormuz, either individually or in groups, should sufficient notice be given of their passage," the British defense ministry said in a statement to AFP.

Royal Navy vessel HMS Montrose will reportedly accompany ships traversing the strait.

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt on Monday said the UK wanted to establish a Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an-led maritime protection force for the Gulf but emphasized that London was not seeking a confrontation with Iran.

"We will now seek to put together a European-led maritime protection mission to support the safe passage of both crew and cargo in this vital region," Hunt told parliament after Iranian authorities seized a British-flagged tanker in the Gulf last Friday.

Hunt also said that a British warship, HMS Duncan, that is being dispatched to the region, would arrive by July 29, joining the Montrose.

According to the foreign secretary, all British-flagged ships would be asked to give the British authorities notice when they plan to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, where Friday’s incident happened, "to enable us to offer the best protection we can."

But he added: "It is, of course, not possible for the Royal Navy to provide escorts for every single ship or indeed eliminate all risks of piracy."

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani suggested on Wednesday that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
might release the UK-flagged ship if Britannia takes similar steps to release an Iranian oil tanker seized by the Royal Navy off Gibraltar earlier this month.

"We do not seek the continuation of tension with some European countries," Rouhani said in comments carried on his website. "Should they be committed to international frameworks and give up their wrong actions, including what they did in Gibraltar, they will receive a proportional response from Iran."

Responding to Britannia’s intent to establish a maritime protection mission, Rouhani asserted that while Iran does not seek a military conflict, it will not allow threats to its security in the important waterway. He described the Iranian seizure of the ship as "professional and brave."

Both sides have called the interception of one another’s ships "hostile acts" and "piracy."

The British are slated to meet with their American counterparts and representatives of several other countries in Florida on Thursday to discuss maritime security.

On Tuesday, Iran’s naval chief said that Tehran is observing all US ships in the Gulf region and keeps an archive of their movements.

"We observe all enemy ships, particularly (those of) America, point-by-point from their origin until the moment they enter the region," Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said, according to a report on Iran’s Young Journalists news site, cited by Rooters.

    Afghanistan
Kabul Blasts Death Toll Rises To 11
[ToloNews] At least 11 people were killed and 45 others were maimed in three explosions in Kabul on Thursday, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed.

The first blast happened when a jacket wallah on a cycle of violence targeted a bus carrying employees of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in Macrorayan-e-Kohna area in the city of Kabul on Thursday morning, killing eight employees including five women and a child and wounding 16 others, a front man for the Ministry of Interior, Nusrat Rahimi, said.

"First, a magnetic bomb embedded to a bus went kaboom!, then a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the bus," Rahimi said, adding that the third blast was a boom-mobileing near the industrial park in PD9 of Kabul.

    Taliban
    ...mindless ferocity in a turban...
claimed responsivity for the third blast and claimed that they targeted a convoy of the foreign troops.

    CIVILIAN CASUALTIES IN AFGHANISTAN
On July 15, a bigwig of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) said that 596 non-combatants were killed, and 1,892 others maimed in festivities between government forces and the Taliban and other attacks by murderous Moslems in Afghanistan since the beginning of the current solar year which coincides with March 21, 2019.

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said in a quarterly report on April 24 that it has documented high levels of harm to civilians but adds that there has been a 23 percent decrease in overall civilian casualties as compared to the same period last year and is the lowest for a first-quarter since 2013.

The report says the UN documented 1,773 civilian casualties (581 deaths and 1,192 injured), including 582 child casualties (150 deaths and 432 injured) between January 1 and March 31.

In the first quarter of 2018, UNAMA documented 2,305 civilian casualties (799 deaths and 1,506 injured), including 609 child casualties (176 deaths and 433 injured), the report says.

The overall reduction of civilian casualties was driven by a decrease in civilian casualties by suicide improvised bomb (IED) attacks, the report says.

UNAMA notes the particularly harsh winter conditions during the first three months of the year, which may have contributed to this trend, the report says.

It is unclear whether the decrease in civilian casualties was influenced by any measures taken by parties to the conflict to better protect civilians, or by the ongoing talks between parties to the conflict, the report mentions.

of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group has grabbed credit for the twin blasts in Kabul.

The group’s Amaq News Agency claimed that the group was behind the consecutive blasts including a suicide kaboom against the bus in 16th district of the city.

Senators to unveil carbon tax bill to strip $2.5 trillion from economy in just 10 years
[OUTLINE] Two Democratic U.S. senators will unveil a bill on Thursday to curb climate change by slapping a fee on oil, natural gas and coal and delivering most of the revenues to low- and middle-income Americans, one of the politicians said.

    Senator Chris Coons

Previously, Coons was the county executive of New Castle County. Raised in Hockessin, Delaware, Coons was a frat boy at the Amherst College liberal mill. He received graduate degrees from Yale Divinity School and Yale Law School....
said on Wednesday he and Senator Dianne Feinstein
...Dem Senator-for-Life from Caliphornica. She has been a politician since about the time she was weaned. Feinstein was the author of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and tried it a second time in 2012. Feinstein has chaired the Select Committee on Intelligence since 2009. At age 80, Feinstein is the oldest currently serving United States Senator....
will introduce the Climate Action Rebate Act, which aims to generate $2.5 trillion in revenues over 10 years starting in 2020. It would rebate about 70 percent of the money to families that make less than $130,000 per year, and use the rest for energy infrastructure, job retraining for fossil fuel workers, and research and development.

    President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
, a Republican, rejects climate science and has slashed regulations on oil and gas drillers and coal miners. That has made climate a big issue in the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, although none of the senators running have yet signed onto the Coons carbon tax bill.

Coons said he is talking with Senate colleagues from both parties and Democrats running for president to build support. It will be an uphill battle to get enough votes to pass in the Republican-led 100-member chamber.

BA resumes Cairo flights after security review
One always wonders what went on behind the bland lack of explanation...
[AlAhram] British Airways said Thursday it would resume flights to Cairo following a week's suspension, having reviewed its security measures.
BA flights to and from the Egyptian capital will start again on Friday, it said in a statement.

The flag carrier suspended flights on Saturday as a precautionary measure.

"Following a thorough assessment of the security arrangements, we are pleased that our service to and from Cairo will resume from Friday," BA said.

"The safety and security of our customers and crew is always our priority, and we would never operate an aircraft unless it was safe to do so."

German carrier Lufthansa also said it was suspending flights to Cairo from Munich and Frankfurt just for last Saturday.

The airlines, two of the biggest in Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
, gave little explanation as to what triggered the moves.

An estimated 415,000 British nationals visited Egypt in 2018.

In its travel advice for British nationals heading to Egypt, the Foreign Office in London warns: "There's a heightened risk of terrorism against aviation.

"Additional security measures are in place for flights departing from Egypt to the UK. You should co-operate fully with security officials at airports."

Air Strikes Kill 12 Civilians in Northwest Syria
[AnNahar] Air strikes by the regime and its Russian ally killed 10 civilians including three children in northwest Syria Thursday, a monitor said.

Since late April, the Syrian regime and Russia have stepped up deadly raids on the Idlib region of three million people.

The bombardment on the jihadist-held bastion has killed hundreds, pounded health centers and schools, and caused more than 330,000 people to flee their homes.

On Thursday, Russian air strikes killed seven civilians -- including one child -- in the bastion, most in and around the town of Maaret al-Numan in Idlib province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

And regime air raids killed five civilians -- including two children -- in neighboring Aleppo province, the Britannia-based monitor said.

The bastion under aerial attack is made up of a large part of the Idlib province, as well as slivers of the adjacent governorates of Aleppo, Hama, and Latakia.

More than 730 civilians have been killed there in air strikes and ground-to-ground fire by the Damascus government and its allies since late April.

The bombardment has increased in intensity in recent weeks, with the toll of almost 50 civilians on Monday alone -- the majority in air strikes on a busy market.

Syria's political opposition Thursday condemned "on average at least a massacre a day" in the embattled stronghold.

A September accord struck between Moscow and Ankara was supposed to protect the region, but it was never fully implemented after jihadists refused to withdraw from a planned buffer zone.
Oh. Why then blame the Assad government for continuing a war the jihadi rebels demand?
In January, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
-- a group led by Syria's former al--Qaeda affiliate -- took over administrative control.

Outside the bastion, rebel and jihadist rocket fire has also killed non-combatants -- but in far lower numbers.

Since late April, retaliatory rocket fire has killed around 70 civilians in nearby government-held territory.
    Ynet summarizes:
Airstrikes pounded villages and towns throughout Syria's rebel stronghold on Thursday, killing at least 10 civilians, some of them buried under the rubble of flattened buildings, activists and rescuers said.
The strikes hit opposition-held territory in Idlib, Aleppo and Hama provinces that is home to 3 million people.

Syrian Civil Defense rescuers, known as White Helmets, reported that four people killed in the village of Kfar Rouma and the town of Maaret Numan in Idlib, while five were killed in Aleppo province's town of Atareb and al-Bawabiya village.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the corpse count in those four areas at 11, and said one more person was killed in Hama.

Is Trump’s Use Of Identity Politics Strategic?
[FIVETHIRTYEIGHT] From suggesting on his first day as a presidential candidate back in 2015 that Mexico was intentionally sending "rapists" to America to calling last week for several liberal congresswomen of color to "go back" to their countries, President Trump has repeatedly used racial and at times racist language over the last four years. And in doing so he has tapped into what some scholars describe as white identity politics, attracting support from those wary of the growing population of Americans who are not white or Christian, as well as those who have negative views about groups of people like black people and Moslems.

These moves have created an active debate among political observers about whether Trump is acting on his sincere beliefs, employing a political strategy or pursuing some combination of the two. It’s hard to know Trump’s motives (and likely it is some combo). But assuming that Trump’s rhetoric and policy approach on issues of race, religion, nationality and other forms of identity are at least in part a political strategy, is it a smart one? Does the way Trump use white identity politics help him and the GOP electorally, even if he at times veers into racism that members of his own party can’t defend? And are the Democrats (usually more establishment, centrist figures) who worry the party is playing into Trump’s hands when it defends members of Congress like Rep. Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
of Minnesota generally right, at least in terms of political strategy?
He goes on (and on) about how racist Trump and his base are, but he doesn't address once that the Dems have openly become the anti-white party. Go to the Urban Dictionary and this is what you get:

    White people
    Someone who shoots up schools

Guy#2: It was probably the white people

    by xlxExcelsiorxlx June 13, 2015

Netflix has a show called "Dear White People."

MTV has a show called simply White People. I'm not sure anyone still watches MTV, but the blurb sez:

What does it mean to be white? MTV's "White People" is a groundbreaking documentary on race that aims to answer that question from the viewpoint of young white people living in America today.

That would seem to define whites as the "other." The author accepts that categorization as valid, throwing in for good measure

white identity politics, attracting support from those wary of the growing population of Americans who are not white or Christian, as well as those who have negative views about groups of people like black people and Moslems

Those wary of folks who aren't white or Christian would seem to include Conservative and Orthodox Jews, Cuban-Americans of any color, Asian-Americans, and Hindus, none of whom we seem to have any problem getting along with. Having negative opinions about blacks and Moslems as a group is dismissed as blind bigotry.

I don't say racial prejudice, even though it's officially equated with bigotry, because our prejudices are based on empirical evidence, whereas bigotry is an assumption based on what the believer thinks should be. This is occasionally called "idealism." The SS were idealists, believing what they had been taught to believe. So were the Cheka and the NKVD. So were the Red Guards. So are adherents to the Islamic State. So is the IRGC.

Not being Woke (I'm Dozing), and relying on our senses, most of us have a dim view of black culture, while recognizing that all people who're black don't embrace it, and that of those who do, many don't embrace it in its entirety. I won't even touch on Moslems, except to note that the same applies to adherents of The Religion of Peace. Prejudice is a thin layer of expectation based on past experience that can be overcome by observation, sometimes minimal observation.

The real world (not the other MTV show) is quite a bit more complicated than the wonderful world of the Huffington Post.
    • Corn rows and bandanas bring the expectation of thuggishness. So's wearing your pants so low they keep trying to fall down. Finding someone who chooses that attire who is also being polite and respectful always comes as a surprise. Seeing a security recording of them looting a 7-11 or a drug store doesn't.

    • Abortion can sometimes be a necessity, but it's always a tragedy, for the baby at least, usually also for the mother. I'm actually pro-abortion, but only by about 50.1 percent. I think it should be safe, legal, extremely rare, and well-regulated locally. Any aborted baby should be given a decent burial, not sold for parts.

    • If Trevor Noah’s Hidden Oscars Joke About White People Is Sneaky Fun, why aren't Mandy and Rastus jokes? Why can we still tell Pat and Mike jokes, or Ole and Lena jokes? Are Cisco and Pancho jokes in or out? Is all we have "Is your refrigerator running? Well, go catch it!" Or would that be ableist? Is all humor dead?

    • White Women: Stop Waiting For Black Women To Save You from... ummm... patriarchy. And oppression. And terrible things like that. And stuff. Because you can't trust men who share the same ancestry and culture and values as you, especially your parents and grandparents. They lie to you. Consideration of others is inconvenience of you.

    • Powerful, Privileged White Men Will Not Win Forever. Really. Just listen to the powerful, privileged white men telling you that. And remember to vote Democrat.

    • Some White People Are Very Mad At Nike And Colin Kaepernick... for not putting the Betsy Ross flag on a pair of sneakers. Personally, being an old white man on a fixed income, I wouldn't have been able to afford them. But I had no objection to them. I'd never heard of the Betsy Ross flag being appropriated by white extremists, and still haven't seen anything substantial. Until I see armed fascisti strutting down my street and beating people up, I'm not going to be concerned. The ones we've been seeing in the last few years haven't been carrying Betsy Ross flags.

Colin Kaepernick, like most of the left, seems to have an aversion to the flag. I don't go overboard in my adoration; it's not an idol. I don't need it sewn on my socks, and I didn't have it sewn on my uniform when I was in Vietnam; we didn't in those days. Neither do I disrespect it. I don't like seeing it burned for political fun, or trampled, or whatever they come up with next.

I stand and put my hand over my heart for the national anthem. It's good manners. I also stand when they play God Save the Queen in England or The Marseillaise in France, or Het Willem in the Netherlands. It's good manners. Kaepernick has none.

Jessie Owens managed to do it in 1936, but he was a man among men. Kaepernick isn't.

As long as I'm expressing my opinion (I have many. This isn't all of them): Kim Kardashian is trashy. Kanye West needs a drug test. Their children are cute. Bill de Blasio is an incompetent windbag. Ilhan Omar would be happier in Mogadishu. I'm still trying to figure why it's "Beto" O'Rourke but not "Teo" Cruz. Teo looks better with a beard, but he still needs a voice coach. Mueller sounded like he's seriously in need of a drug test. The current Pope should move to Avignon. Putin is to Russia what Trump is to the USA, only way moreso, and with polonium; if Trump was Putin, he'd have no critics, at least not anymore. The Paleostinians would be totally lost without something to "resist." I'm starting to think that Caitlyn Jenner might be homosexual, but I'm not sure in which direction. Kirsten Gillibrand is in reality no one. Ruth Bader Ginsberg looks like the kind of woman whose house kids are afraid to enter. Seattle, Portland, and the entire state of Caliphornia should be declared in a state of insurrection and occupied. Name one of the Seven Deadly Sins lefties don't glorify.

Tessa Thompson (who?) does not want to work with a ‘bunch of white people’ or men
The actress wants to work on projects that are ‘inclusive’.
Doesn't that... uhhh... exclude some of us? Wasn't I just discussing that sort of thing? If you don't buy tickets to whatever the wench is starring in you're a bigot, damn yer eyes!

School board member insists online posts about Tlaib, Omar were anti-Sharia Law, not anti-Muslim
[FOXNEWS] A school board member in New Jersey said Wednesday he will neither apologize nor resign after the discovery of his online posts about Moslems ‐ including two members of the U.S. House, according to reports.

Dan Leonard’s comments came after more than a dozen speakers spoke out against him at a school board meeting, the Asbury Park Press reported. Leonard represents Beachwood on the Toms River Regional Board of Education, the report said.

A post accompanying a photo of U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., included the words, "my life would be complete if she/they die," the bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit

Another post, referring to U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar

, D-Minn., included the remark, "Terrorist ... 100 percent," the report said.

Leonard objected to being portrayed as anti-Moslem, insisting instead that he opposed Sharia Law, the Asbury Park paper reported.

Indiana woman steals dentures, wears them to meeting with probation officer
[FOXNEWS] An Indiana sheriff's office took a "bite out of crime" Monday when they caught a woman wearing a set of dentures "that clearly were not hers" at her own probation meeting.

Earlier that day, someone reported that a woman, identified as Joann Childers, from Jennings County, stole her teeth and accused her of wearing them around.

A probation officer who later met with Childers said she noticed she was wearing the set of pearly whites, which "may be the stolen teeth."

On Wednesday, officials spoke to Childers about the alleged denture theft. The sheriff's office wrote on Facebook that while speaking with Childers, a deputy saw the dentures in "plain view" inside her home ‐ and they were even reportedly labeled with the alleged victim's name on it.

The sheriff's office also appeared to see the funny side in the incident, with a series of hashtags accompanying the post including, "#caughtwithoutmyteethin #takingabiteoutofcrime #gumdecision #illhavejailsoup #shesnotthetoothfairy".

    Iraq
Iraqi federal police killed 9 civilians in Daquq, mistaken for ISIS: official
[Rudaw] Iraqi federal police were accused on Wednesday of killing nine members of the same family in the Daquq area of southern Kirkuk after mistaking them for Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
    (ISIS) fighters.

"The federal police mistakenly thought the car was carrying ISIS fighters, and as such killed all of them," Shiekh Lewis Sindi, mayor of Daquq, told Rudaw English on Thursday.

The series of events which lead to the deaths remain sketchy, and federal officials contacted by Rudaw have refused to comment. Rudaw has also been unable to reach the Iraqi interior ministry, which is responsible for the federal police.

Sindi said his administration will meet with federal police chiefs to examine what happened.

"We call upon the governorate [of Kirkuk] to start an investigation into the matter," the mayor said.

Iraq’s central government is yet to send an investigative team, he added.

ISIS allegedly began shelling the village of Dara in the Haftaghar district at around 10:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, according to Rajab Kakai, head of the Daquq-based Mitra Organization for the Development of Yarsani Culture.

Four people were maimed in the village when a shell struck their house, Kakai told Rudaw. Among them was an elderly woman, who later died in hospital.

At least three shells fell on Dara, forcing residents to flee to Daquq, he added.

Around the same time, a local family was returning home from the nearby village of Mansour. While travelling on the Haftaghar road, their car was suddenly attack by unknown button men.

Azad Rostam, head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) office in Daquq, told Rudaw eight members of the same family were travelling in the vehicle and seven were killed. A two-year-old sustained injuries but survived, he said.

Other reports, and social media posts featuring photographs of nine graves, indicate nine occupants died.

"No one knows if it is an ISIS ambush or the federal police shot them," said Rostam.

"These [Iraqi] forces are very disparate. There is no coordination between them. Federal police do not recognize anyone and say they are the only authority in the area," he added.

A federal police officer in the area, who spoke to Rudaw on condition of anonymity, said the family was killed following a "misunderstanding".

At around the same time, families fleeing the shelling of Dara arrived at a federal police checkpoint in Haftaghar, where they were met with long queues.

In the ensuing chaos, a dispute broke out between federal officers and a local policeman. The local officer was killed. Rudaw could not immediately confirm the circumstances of his death.

The officer’s family and a crowd of Daquq locals flocked to the checkpoint to protest. They remained there until 4 a.m. local time.

Responding to the disturbance, Kirkuk operations commander Saad Harbi and Kirkuk police commander Ali Kamal came to Daquq and replaced the checkpoint’s federal officers with members of the Kirkuk Emergency Police, Kakai told Rudaw.

Although it was declared territorially defeated in Iraq in December 2017, ISIS remnants have resumed their earlier insurgency tactics ‐ including ambushes on federal police checkpoints and shelling civilian areas.

    Britain
British police bust Kurdish human trafficking gang
[Rudaw] Thirteen members of a gang which illegally trafficked people from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region to the United Kingdom have been convicted, British police authorities announced Wednesday.

The final convictions handed down by London’s Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday follow a two-year investigation led by detectives of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

The gang was "convicted of offences including conspiracy to assist in unlawful immigration, money laundering, and perverting the course of justice", SEROCU said.

"This human trafficking operation was being led by 33-year-old Alan Hoger and 34-year-old Goran Ahmed ‐ both from East Sussex," the unit said. Both are Kurds.

Hoger was tossed in the calaboose
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
for 10 years and Ahmed for eight.

"This gang took advantage of their links to the Middle East to exploit vulnerable people for financial gain, with no concern about putting their lives in danger," SEROCU said.

"They targeted the Kurdish community and looked to make as much profit out of every individual they could exploit. Their only concern was their profit margins."

The ringleaders were accused of setting up operating bases in several locations around the UK, including Hastings and St. Leonards in East Sussex for "their criminal enterprise".

They also "had a nationwide network of customers, money launderers and criminal associates in places such as Bolton, Nottingham, Devon, Brighton, Eastbourne, and Hull".

"Hoger had boasted of being a millionaire to his friends, as he laundered his profits from the organised crime group with help from his wife ‐ through legitimate companies ‐ back to the Kurdistan Region. Throughout this investigation, a total of £144,000 ($179,892) in cash was seized," it said.

Over the course of several trials, courts heard the gang used its contacts across the UK, Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
, and Asia to move people to a holding point in southeast La Belle France and from there they were taken by taxi to Belgium where they would be hidden within lorries, to set to the UK by ferry.

"The victims would travel either in the lorry cab, on top of the cab in the wind deflector, or underneath the trailer on a pallet shelf. If they were detained in the UK, they would immediately claim asylum and be released to UK family members, who had paid the organised crime group between £8,000 and £10,000 per individual," police said.

Other key members of the gang group included two Romanian nationals, Cristinel Samson, 50, and Ionut Cornila, 27, both lorry drivers who were handed prison sentences of five years and four years respectively.

"This case should serve as a clear warning to those involved in trafficking people into the UK. Be in no doubt, we have an extensive investigative network and a range of tactics to combat such criminal activity. We will seek them out and bring them before the courts."

Europe has seen a massive influx of Middle East and migrants colonists'>North African colonists and refugees since 2014 as people tried to escape violence, injustice, and poverty brought about by war, corruption, and economic collapse.

The influx put pressure on the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
’s principals of free movement and contributed to anti-immigrant sentiment. Without safe a legal passage, many migrants colonists and refugees resorted to using criminal networks.

In February 2018, the UK busted a major Kurdish smuggling network accused of trafficking hundreds of Kurds from Iraq into Britannia, according to the UK National Crime Agency (NCA).

There is no official data on the number of Kurds living in the UK as they are classified as Iraqis. Unofficial estimates put their number at around 200,000.

    China-Japan-Koreas
Seoul says weapons tested by North Korea were new missiles, launch overseen by Pudgy himself
[IsraelTimes] South Korea says the two weapons North Korea

Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
fired earlier today were a new type of ballistic missile.

South Korea’s presidential office issues the assessment after a national security council meeting.

Seoul said earlier based on analysis of the launches that one missile flew 690 kilometers (430 miles) and the other 430 kilometers (270 miles) before landing in the waters off the east coast.

The presidential office says national security council members expressed "strong concerns" about the launches because they won’t be helpful for an effort to ease military tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

Kim Jong Un oversaw test-firing of two ballistic missiles

[Jpost] North Korea said on Friday its latest missile launch was a warning to South Korean "warmongers" to stop importing weapons and conducting joint military drills, a message that analysts said was also aimed at the United States.

North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
personally watched the test-fire of two short-range ballistic missiles on Thursday, the first test since Kim met with US President Donald Trump

last month and agreed to revive denuclearisation talks.

The missile tests raises doubts about the revival of denuclearisation talks, which stalled after the collapse of a second summit between Kim and Trump in Hanoi in February.

"We cannot but develop nonstop super-powerful weapon systems to remove the potential and direct threats to the security of our country that exist in the south," Kim said, according to state news agency KCNA.

In a statement on Friday, Colonel Lee Peters, a front man for the combined command of US and South Korean troops, said the launches "were not a threat directed at [South Korea] or the US, and have no impact on our defence posture."

In public statements, Pyongyang has shown increasing frustration that South Korea has not followed through on promised economic cooperation or peace agreements, all while importing the latest F-35 stealth fighters and conducting military drills with the United States.

The KCNA report did not mention Trump or the United States, but said Kim criticised South Korean authorities for staging joint military exercises, which Trump promised to end after his first meeting with Kim in June 2018.

North Korea accused Washington of breaking that promise by planning to hold joint military exercises with South Korea next month and warned of a possible end to its freeze in nuclear and long-range missile tests.

While Friday's message is very clearly directed at Seoul, it does send signals to Washington as well, said Jenny Town, managing editor at 38 North, a project that studies North Korea.

"On some level, this is like North Korea's version of maximum pressure on South Korea and the United States."

North Korean state newspaper Rodong Sinmun showed photos of the missile launching, Kim Jong-un looking through binoculars and at screens appearing to show the missile trajectory, and smiling and clapping with his officials.

Kim said the test was "a solemn warning to the south Korean military warmongers" and accused South Koreans of "double dealing" for saying they support peace but simultaneously importing new weapons and conducting military drills.

South Korea's leader should stop such "suicidal acts" and "should not make a mistake of ignoring the warning," Kim said.

Kim said he was satisfied with the rapid response and low-altitude trajectory of the weapon, which he said would make it difficult to intercept.

New law lets Australian govt ban extremists for up to 2 years
[Ynet] The Australian Parliament on Thursday passed laws that enable the government to prevent suspected holy warriors from returning home for up to two years despite concerns it could be unconstitutional.

The Senate passed the laws with the center-left Labor Party supporting the conservative government's bill even though it worried Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton would have too much discretion to decide who was banished.

    Afghanistan
Gen. Dunford in Afghanistan to take the pulse of operations: Pentagon
[KhaamaPress] The Department of Defense, Pentagon, has announced that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joe Dunford is in Afghanistan to take the pulse of the operations.

Gen. Dunford has said he wants to ensure Army Gen. Austin S. Miller, the commander of the Resolute Support effort in Afghanistan, has all he needs.

Furthermore, Gen. Dunford said he wanted to take the pulse of operations in the country in advance of the national elections in September.

The Afghans were holding a "rehearsal of concept" for the elections as he arrived, the Department of Defense said in a statement.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the precinct house, Sergeant Maloney wasn't buying it. It was just too pat. The whole thing smelled phony, kind of like a dead mackeral but without the scales...
Gen. Dunford told news hounds "That is clearly a big priority for them, [and they are] making sure they have everything in place."

He also added that negotiations have not changed the military mission in the country.

"Day to day, the mission hasn’t changed for General Miller and the team, and they are still taking the fight to the Taliban
    ...Arabic for students...
and supporting the Afghan military," he said.

Excuse me, guys — I was just wondering if you have anybody left to plan and execute an offensive, given so many of your best (not to mention the vast numbers who are merely “better”) have been sitting in jail awaiting trial for one reason or another? Or do you plan on using those Turkmen auxiliaries parked on the Syrian side of the border, the ones who have been so ineffective?
[Ynet] Ottoman Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar met military officials on Thursday to discuss a possible offensive east of the Euphrates River in Syria as Ankara ramped up warnings of a cross-border operation.

The meeting came a day after The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
said it would launch an offensive unless agreement on a planned safe zone in Syria could be reached with the United States, saying it had run "out of patience" with Washington.

The operation, which would mark the third Ottoman Turkish incursion into Syria in as many years, was first signalled by President Tayyip Erdogan earlier this year but later put on hold.

allies agreed to create a zone inside Syria and along its northeastern border with Turkey that would be cleared of the Kurdish YPG militia.

Turkey, Russia complete 1st part of missile defense delivery
[Ynet] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
's military says the first phase of the delivery of the Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems has been completed.

The military said the delivery of a "first group" of components ended on Thursday. A second group of components is due to begin arriving in the capital Ankara soon.

Russian cargo planes have so far made 30 flights to Ankara since July 12 to deliver the system.

Turkey took delivery of parts of the S-400 despite strong objections from the United States, which had been pressing Turkey to cancel the deal with Russia.

...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
    , the group said.

The Misrata Joint Security Force carried out the raid against "wanted terrorists, classified as al-Qaeda leaders," the group linked to the U.N.-recognized Government of National Accord's interior ministry said on Facebook late Wednesday.

    U.S. Official: Iran Test-Fired Medium-Range Missile
    [Jpost] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites.

The missile was reported to be a Shahab-3 missile that flew a distance of 1,000km (Approx. 600 miles) to an area outside Tehran.

The US official suspected the test was part of Iran's efforts to improve the range and accuracy of their missiles.

"We are aware of reports of a projectile launched from Iran, and have no further comment at this time," a senior administration official originally told Fox News.
