#1 ...Something not quite right here. PATRIOT moves several orders of magnitude faster than any drone, and once PATRIOT is moving, it ain't stopping. Sounds to me like the missile...well, missed, but the Syrians/Iranians took the hint.

When a MANPAD Stinger is probably the better option.
Patriot, $1 to 6 million dollars.
Stinger, $40 thousand dollars.

Well, Calabrese, all I can say if somebody fired a 2 million $ Patriot missile at UAV - and didn't even hit it, somebody is facing early retirement.

Patriot is mid to high attitude intercept. Not intended or designed for low attitude.

Now the UAV may have been spoofing, through transmission or have someone in the same radar envelope behind it.

No idea, g(r)omgoru. I check The Times of Israel and Ynet daily, the Jerusalem Post (my father’s tipple, back in the day) regularly. They overlap incompletely on what they report in English.
