#2 Not that the left has the ability to think, but do you think they imagine for a minute that if it even got to the Senate how many Carter/Clinton appointed judges' names would soon follow? Thanks boys for showing the way!

#3 Sure, go ahead and impeach the Evil Bushitler.

I'd *love* to see President Cheney tooling around the Rose Garden on the Presidential D-9, brandishing a small gauge shotgun at Wolf Blitzer. Maybe we'd finally get that pyramid of jihadi skulls on the White House lawn we've been clamoring for.

#4 Steve-
Thank you for making the point that the Moonbats always seem to miss - that there is a Line of Succession that would but Richard Cheney in the White House. One of the problems here is that many of these people are Constitutionally illiterate enough that they believe everybody else has to go too. Then tere are a great many of these folks who sincerely - and frighteningly - believe that an impeachment would be followed by a 'people's revolution' that would put the Right People in the White House...

#5 They are planning to immediately impeach Cheney too.

#6 They are planning to immediately impeach Cheney too.

So, the line of successions then goes,

Speaker of the House: Dennis Hastert
President pro tempore of the Senate Ted Stevens
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales
Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne
Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns
Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez
Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao
Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Alphonso Jackson
Secretary of Transportation Vacant
Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman
Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson
Secretary of Homeland Security4 Michael Chertoff

I don't see Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Harry Reid, Howard Dean, or any other name in there that might vault the Dems to power in a sudden surge.

In fact, I see quite a few names (Rummie, Hastert, Stevens, Rice, Gonsalves, etc.) that would be a Demeocratic Party's nightmare come true should they assume the POTUS.

#7 An addendum on the above - Guttierez and Chao are inelligible - Guttierez was born in Cuba, and Chao was born in Taiwan.

In late July 2005, the Senate passed a bill moving the Homeland Security secretary to number 8 on the list. The bill is awaiting House approval.

#8 If it ever comes to that point, the succession would be:
Speaker of the House: Nancy Pelosi
President pro tempore of the Senate: Harry Reid

#12 It takes 67 votes in the Senate to remove the President after he is impeached by the House. That is what saved Slick Willie, not enough Senators wanted him out. Think the Dems can get 67 votes against Bush in the Senate? No freaking way! Political death sentence for any Repub that votes that way, at the next election that that Senator stands in.
Remember, Slick Willie was impeached by the House and finished that last 2 years of his administration.
