For which he gets three strokes with a damp noodle if he doesn't have a good lawyer.

How about assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, breaking and entering, possession of an unlicensed handgun, possession of a stolen weapon, possession of stolen goods, damage to property...

Criminals shouldn't carry guns because a victim will probably just take it away from the criminal and use it on him.

#6 Reminds me of the story here in the Atlanta suburbs this morning. Last night, a man broke into a woman's home (who has a 7 year old daughter). Amazingly (according to the radio report this morning), he stabbed her 20+ times, raped her several times, and had grabbed a shotgun and was going to kill her with it, when it jammed.

The result? The mother (who was interviewed) said, "I was determined he would NOT do to my daughter what he did to me!" She somehow got the knife away from him, and when he tried to pounce on her again, she held it up and he fell on it. DRT (dead right there)! The ultimate justice and his victim (who, again, had been stabbed over 20 times) lives to tell the story! I love it when justice is served like this.

#10 McKinney may need a good lawyer, even in Texas. He admits continuing to beat Anderson, even after he had taken the gun away such that he was no longer a threat, which could easily be called criminal assault, and even more easily called grounds for civil lawsuit. Safer to have just shot and killed the bastard while 'struggling for possession of the gun.'
