#1 It's really too bad how the current definition of "seized" bears such a striking resemblance to the Saudi term "surrounded".

#2 Maybe he can get to tour Ground Zero?

#3 As long as the gentleman in question had a cell phone and/or a computer, and is susceptible to a lack of tryptophanes in his diet, keeping or returning him later doesn't matter so much, I'd think.

#4 If he's so "elite" how come he got captured?
When the media refers to to a Middle Eastern army unit as "elite", I don't worry much about it. See: Iraqi Republican Guard, Elite...

#5 Well, doesn't really matter what Iran claims, they're not owning up to the guy. Put him against a wall, since he's not an Iranian officer according to Iran, then he's just a terrorist and they've got nothing to complain about.

The press gets confused over the First World and Third World definitions of "elite". In the First World, an "elite" unit is highly trained and highly motivated. In the Third World, an "elite" unit is loyal.

#7 They really need to bring back war protocol on spies. If they are a member of the nation's military, and they aren't in uniform, they get shot.

#8 mmmm. I think I'll take the US Military's seized over the Saud's surrounded. Pretty much any day, and twice on Sunday, actually.

Why throw trained personnel back into Iran's talent pool?
