#1 The practice, which claims more than 90 lives each day, should no longer be seen as the honourable way out but as an act of desperation and perhaps preventable misery.

Is there some sort of data to support the notion suicide imposes an economic cost on society as a whole? If not, what is the problem, exactly?

#3 A lot of Japanese commit suicide because of their goofy culture. A normal person would just start over, move to a new city, start a new life, etc. The Japanese don't see it like that. So yes, there is an economic cost, Mr. Scrooge.
