#1 I've noticed a trend toward lots of arrests and few firefights or bad guy casualties. Could someone with Iraq experience give us some insight on what explains the shift?

#4 I'd say that right now, Al-Qaida and most of the Sunni groups are exhausted. They've been fighting non-stop since early 2004, while the US and allied forces have rotated troops in and out. Those still alive have been run ragged. Without an influx of additional "volunteers" from other Arab nations, the front will slowly collapse. I think we're seeing the early signs of that now.
