#10 Gen Clark was Dad's favorite general. Apparently he served under him either in North Africa or Sicily.

I had my first Salk vaccine in 1953, as part of the school test group in Louisiana. That was a good place to test, since polio usually crippled a hundred or more kids every year there. We had two polio victims in our graduating class, and several others before that. Polio is so rare today that 99% of school-age children have never seen anyone who had polio, even among adults.
