#1 Cold, cold, cold ...

Accurate, but cold ...

#3 You guys are ruthless. Camilla may not be the most winsome of maidens, but she hasn't gained the same reputation for asshattery her husband Bonnie Prince CheeseBrain has. So I say "Neigh!" to this slander. Or is it libel? I can't ever remember.

#4 Slander is spoken. Libel is written. From "libros", greek for book.

And she oughtn't try and count that high...

One of them requires the ability to read and write. While there were horses like Clever Hans who could do math, more or less, they haven't the natural equipment to put legible pen to paper... nor to dictate. So it must be the other one.

#6 "ruthless"? As in "without ruth"? moi?

#7 Ah yes ... 'ruth' as in 'mercy, compassion, remorse'. Not used much over the last century or two but a perfectly good word nonetheless ... and a good sentiment from time to time. ;-)

#8 Ruth the Moabitess -- one of my favourite bible stories. The grandmother of King David was a convert, a Jew by choice as they say nowadays, giving her loving heart and the strength of her body to support herself and her mother-in-law to the best of her ability, rather than return to her own family after her husband died.
