#1 Surprised the doofus didn't try to blame it on the Tea Partiers....

#2 Oblahblahhas been so lucky twice now that we know of.

I count this as the fourth, one of which was successful:

o The aborted Afghan-Yemen plan to bomb the New York City subway last September -- Nasi and a couple of high school friends have been convicted for it, and the imam will be returning to Afghanistan in a few months.

o The unsuccessful pantybomber from Nigeria who flew in Christmas day, also connected to Yemen.

o Major Hassan, who successfully killed many of his fellow soldiers just before they shipped out to Iraq, and who I believe now faces the death penalty.

o The unsuccessful Times Square SUV bombers.

#3 Separately, I think Governor Patterson is the first politician to openly call this terrorism.

#4 "Surprised the doofus didn't try to blame it on the Tea Partiers..."

I'm sure he would have liked to, but the Obama regime probably already had in their hands the Pakistani Taliban video taking credit for the attempt.

#5 I'll give Paterson his due. It's a reasonable statement.

I would have liked to have seen an additional sentence about hunting the terrorists down, grinding them into the earth, and torching their villages, but that's just me.

But we do indeed owe thanks to a street vendor and to the police.

#6 There have been a lot more attempts, including 3 muslim plots in one week to bring down office/governmental buildings. Law enforcements stings even got one of them on video pressing the switch of the US gov issued truck bomb.

Sorry -- my brain apparently got a little too efficient -- that's Najibullah Zazi, of course.

#8 At the NYPD news conference, Kelly said they had a video of a white male, about 40, leaving the scene and changing his shirt from a dark color to a red one underneath. They also blew open the gun box and it had packets of white powder, possibly fertilizer but still being analyzed. I guess they also have fingerprints and other forensic material. He did say someone also contacted a local new organization and took credit or gave a warning beforehand. No further elaboration.

#9 There's not going to be a backlash until one of these attempts is successful. And that's the sad fact.

I'll bet the pols are just watching public reaction to see if they can afford to just shrug this off.

The real sad fact is there'll be locals wherever the terrs finally get lucky saying "Why not give sharia a try..."

#16 Thanks, I guess, KBK.

I deleted all my cookies at the behest of Comcast, trying to get their TV listings to show Richmond for zip 23235, instead of the Philadelphia they seem to think it should be.

It didn't work. >:-(

Team Obama seems to be able to get this to work out with the stimulus money and all. Why don't you give them a call?

#18 "Why don't you give them a call?"

I probably shouldn't, gorb. I don't think they'd like what I called them.
