Why would this be leaked to the NYTs? From what I understand BO is not really keeping various Congressional defense groups in the loop. If that is true, then the administration would be the leakers. To what purpose? The Iranians are paranoid enough now and see spies everywhere. Why endanger special ops groups by leaking info. Unless this is propaganda to make them even more nervous. Part of BO strategy (does he have one) to pressure Iran to comply with sanctions? Don't really get it.

#5 Leaks don't have to be part of TOTUS' grand strategy. It could be somebody who wants to show how important he is to his pal at the Times. Or somebody caught with his pants down getting blackmailed. Or somebody from State who doesn't like the Army.
