#1 Could it be they were doing the old classic slip past the guards and set-up an arms and uniform stash for others to come in later to use and shoot up more un-armed US based troops, like Ft Hood????

#2 MacDill is home of US Central Command and USSOCOM. I have my doubts about this particular incident, but I do fear we've not seen the last of the Fort Hood massacre business.
