#3 its the religious women who conspire with the men to keep the situation as it is.

If the women were united then they could effect social change themselves.

It's the mothers of the men that help keep the wives and daughters down.

Just like in Africa, and the diaspora, it's the mothers who are the first to reach for the blunt knives to hack off the bits for FGM.

Yes men oppress women, but so do women.
