#1 The East Asian Tigers managed to transition to higher value added activities, but their economies were small. Not an option for China.

China has massively over invested in plant and infrastructure and there will be a huge wave of bankruptcies.

#6 The 'easy growth' came from jacking the economics out of shape - easy to do in a command economy. But the economic chickens eventually come home to roost. They always do. And it's never pretty.
