#1 The schools said removing Dr. Poole from the classroom was "for safety reasons" after the incident garnered a lot of media attention.

Oh, come on. The instructor didn't use Mohammad (for obvious reason that would require removal for safety). BTW don't try using Elvis either.

#7 Before one draws parallels to any of the Rushdie rules crises involving anti-islamic speech it should be reemphasized that the issue is that the professor tried to compel speech, not that students were offended by the professor's speech.

He violated the student's free speech rights while his own rights had never been challenged.
