#2 Early in the Iraq invasion, John Keegan--brit mil hist--remarked on the propensity of Iraqi drivers to drive into the middle of firefights, run checkpoints despite substantial warnings, etc.
Recall one report about a US convoy stalled in traffic. Out of the traffic mess comes an Iraqi taxi, accelerating toward the convoy. Some heavy MG rounds in the engine stop him. WTF??? He didn't blow up, the traffic mess was unpredictable so he couldn't have been planning it....
