9. Do not get on government support, even if those around us think it is free.

Nothing is free in life. Once we get Medicaid, Medicare, or Welfare, it is very hard to get green cards or to become United States Citizens. The more we do this, the more we play into the American stereotype of immigrants wanting something for free and living off real Americans money.

We are strong and good people. We can work for what we are entitled to in the United States. Although we may be poor in legal status, we should try very hard to not be on government support.
