Haftar accepted and traveled to the U.S., where he joined Libya's opposition in exile. His time in the U.S. gave rise to accusations he was linked to the CIA first from the Qadaffy regime, and then from rebel groups during the 2011 uprising.

I think yesterday's question, about where the National Army's funding is coming from, might have an answer.

#4 I think the world is breathing a sigh of relief that there may be a Libyan equivalent of Francisco Franco finally emerging in Benghazi. Hopefully he can do to the jihadists what Franco did to the communists.
