#2 a politics of the French, for the French and with the French."

A reversion to tribalism that the EU was supposed to get rid of. Now, the devil's in the details.

Getting rid of Muzzie imms. is a given, but what about Jews?

This could get interesting couldn't it?

#3 So the socialist left runs the country, but the EU delegation is right wing (for France).
You'd have though the Italians would have come up with this first.

#5 Getting rid of Muzzie imms. is a given, but what about Jews?

Besoeker posted an article not long ago about how emigration rates to Israel are up significantly. Any other emigration is no doubt recorded by the receiving countries as French rather than religious, AlanC.

A quick google reveals that the Jewish population of France in 2001 was somewhere in the range of 600,000-750,000; as far as I can tell, the larger number includes those self-identified but unaffiliated with the community. Three hundred thousand of them were immigrants from North Africa -- Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Today the Jewish population is given as 480,000-600,000, a significant drop, and a quarter say they would like to leave. I suspect the proportion that are from North Africa has increased due to proportionally more native French deaths and immigrant births. The native French Jews are wealthier, I believe, and therefore better able to afford emigration, but also less likely to adjust to a new situation well, so I have no idea how emigration has affected the ratio. Certainly, of those who moved to Israel, not all stayed permanently.

#6 Yep TW.

I was alluding to Besos piece with the question. Will the antisemitism become more overt? Will the flow rate to Israel increase?
