#1 I'm no expert and know only what I pick up from news blogs, but it strikes me that this story, as some others, says that IS is not invincible, and more to the point, that they may have bitten off more territory than they can control. Both Iraqis and Kurds have checked them in various places. And so far at least they have not hit Baghdad, where US SOF is present, as one deduces from Occupied White House statements. And as with AQI before them, their domestic relations dis-endear them to civilians. As a Saudi client, IS is not predictably a stable on-going fighting force. Again, I am not an expert, just making observations of what appear to my eyes skimming the surfaces of the multi-faceted phenomenon. God help the girls and women and massacre the misogynists. That is my prayer.

#2 The Iraqi Sunnis will go along with IS until they throw off Baghdad's yoke (read: Shiites,) whereupon they'll either go after the IS or more likely, count on the IS to turn its gaze outward and leave them alone.
