#1 The leadership of the GOP is in bed with Ovomit and the dhimocrats. They want what they want. Power. They need to be removed or nothing will change. Well, nothing will change peacefully if they don't leave.

#2 I remember the old timers, the 'spit and whittle club' bunch at the gas station saying there was no difference between the politicians in Washington. That was 50+ years ago.

Appears a contemporary confirmation must have been the pub's disdain for the populist Tea Party crowd.

#3 The GOP is a particular stickey bomb of dente.
It is all about the donars and the positions.

The Karl Rove party is defunct of purpose and will never help you with brass tacks.

Article 5 this leviathan and make it the bitch it is supposed to be.

Remove the power from DC.

#4 Obamacare is a tax and may be repealed.
All executive orders regarding Obamacare may be reversed by the next president.
Obamacare may be totally eliminated by EA by the next president...or not.
Congress is making too much $ now to change anything. Got to pay Boners $80K gate fee to make legislative change.

#5 I believe someone here said recently:

"The Republicans have become the new Democrats, and the Democrats have become communists. Everyone has moved to the left."

#6 Remind me why I voted this past November...

To keep up your fantasy that it's still a republic.

#7 Right on Mr. B." the 'spit and whittle club'" I remember many such conversations. "In my day we would have strung-em up". 90+ old timer said that about politicians. His 90+ plus friend was called Crackers because candy was too expensive at the general store. That's all he could afford. Wood stove in the center of the room with benches or chairs to sit on. Many stories told. Husband and wife fighting about a mouse. He's commin in by the nut barrel. No he's commin in by the apple barrel. OK. man sets trap at each barrel. Later that night a snap is heard. Wife asks well you gonna check to see who is right?. Naw you check. She checks and comes back upstairs and doesn't say a thing. Well, asks the husband?. We caught-em by the nuts!. Of course the wife was right. Dats why they never should have let women vote.

#8 Today's GOP plays the same role in American national politics as the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang does in the PRC.

#9 Back in 1972 I asked my grandfather how he could vote for George Wallace. He said by the time they get to the presidential level they're all crooked and he figured maybe Wallace was a little less crooked than the other two.

#10 At the time Wallace said, "There'S not a dime'S worth of difference between the two parties". A lot of people still which party paid to have him shot.

#11 At that time Wallace said, "There is not a dimeS worth of difference between the two parties". Some people are still wondering if one or both parties paid to have him shot.

#12 Besoeker, I like that quote. But I would add that the Tea-Party Republicans are threatening to take over the right. The old guard will fight and complain and try to cut them off at the knees whenever possible but I believe the population supports some serious reform/restoration.

#13 The traditional Democrat no longer has a party. The traditional Republican is seeing the same thing happening to them. This onerous vacuum will allow the most unexpected results. Elect a strong person to the presidency. The Republican leadership will follow along as they have with O. As long as he or she has the popularity. They will bide their time and strike at the most opportune moment. Strike as they see fit. Like Tip O'Nell, he being the true power under Carter. The media will provide cover as well. This time I don't believe things will go as planned. Too many chiefs in the mix jockeying for power for their own groups. This is no longer a country united together for the betterment of all. Each group vies for power among their own.
