#1 Reference the Dar al-Hijra mosque in Falls Church, Va., it was involved in the creation of the Muslim American Society, also based in Falls Church. After 9/11 MAS was rightly labeled a front for the Muslim Brotherhood. Founded in 1992 by the Egyptian brother Muhammad Mahdi Akef, Akef would return to Egypt where he was named General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2004.
