#1 Let’s ask our consciences whether we want Turkey to be a country with unique individuals, or a country where people have become a herd.

This is the existential question for the US. The progressives/democrats/left would say (if you could get an honest answer) that they would prefer a herd where they are the shepherds and set the rules. They are "more equal".
